Lovely Ladies is probably the most extreme idea I’ve ever had for a song - I want people to see just how delusional the picture that bigots paint of trans people is. I thought the best way to do that was to just write down and say out loud the things these people assume I believe because it’s immediately obvious to those who aren’t batshit insane that trans people aren’t the monsters people like to suggest we are.
It’s kind of my “big scary trans villain” moment and I find that while it’s unequivocally dangerous for the media to spread the idea that trans people are a threat, it’s almost hilarious that people believe that trans people who just want to live their lives comfortably, authentically and happily are somehow coming after their kids.

Dude i love this so so much. Its been hurting a lot to be trans rn. It has really nothing to do with politics at this moment, but ive been realizing that ive been getting hurt more the closer i get to coming out. Ive been feeling the pressure more and more everyday, ive been feelinf unsatified with my body (in terms of looks), and ive been feeling the weight being trans has on my dating and social life.
Its been scary and excruxiating, even tho ive known im trans since i was 14, the older i guess, the harder it gets. I keep fighting because thats the only thing to do, and i know that if i resist one day ill have the chance to be open and happy about who i am, witouth having to suffer in silence
