- Last night Eminem joined Ed Sheeran at Detroit's Show for surprise performances of Lose Yourself and Stan. Upon spotting Eminem, the crowd erupted in cheers. Ed Sheeran had musical lessons since he was a little boy. He had strong family support. Yes, he was “homeless” at some point to pursue his musical dreams, but always had a place to come home to. Em - is the one who truly came from nothing. Trailer home, rough neighborhood, drug addicted parents, no musical lessons. He’s all natural. This is why he never turned his back on Detroit!
The video doesn't do the justice of how crazy the crowd went when Eminem was on stage. I was in the concert and not a single person stopped screaming at the top of their lungs. It was phenomenal.
That’s because the cameras are really good at recording the music instead. The fact that we can hear people screaming means it was REALLY LOUd. Similar to Kanye when he went to Roger’s Place in Edmonton. Every single word of every single song was screamed/sung by every single person in the stadium.

When you live in the era of Eminem you're either in your 30s or early 40s, it brings you back to your memories, sweet memories, people you've lost along the way and challenges you've been through hell and high water. It's not been an easy path and life hasn't been easy so I really appreciate when modern artists pay respect to those who came before them. Keep fighting everyone, we're all in this together till the end.

Em came up when there wasn't streaming like there is today, and he was HUGE, people forget and a lot don't know, just how famous Em was at one point. I think the real way to tell who is bigger (again, I think it's a stupid argument anyways) would be longevity. Will Ed still be as huge and beloved 20 years from now? I was there yesterday, and Eminem brought way more screaming than Ed Sheeran did. It was unreal!! Great show by Ed Sheeran!
The noise level when he was performing was deafening but rightfully so
I’ve lived less than 5-mile from him for almost 25 years. Detroit loves Em. That’s why he’s never left Michigan. My wife and I saw Halie at Target a couple years ago. We didn’t say anything to her, but she looked like a nice young lady. Every now and then you hear about Em being seen around town. He’s a cool guy from what I’ve heard.

I am 67 years old and have lived very close to Eminem for many years. I so love that he maintains his love for Detroit.. I so love that he stays low key and moves amongst us quietly. But only he could come out of nowhere and blow the roof off of Ford Field with only collaborating on two songs! Detroit!

I watched an interview of him the other day. The interviewer asked. What's his greatest accomplishment? Em replied "being a father". That in and of itself is so powerful.

I wonder why he hasn’t done full headlining shows since 2019. Ik part of it has to do with the pandemic, but my hypothesis is part of it may also be because of concert goers being absolutely insufferable as of late with fights, throwing things on stage, etc and Eminem really hates that kind of behavior and doesn’t wanna take the risk.

1) this is why I love Ed. He's a down to earth dude who isn't affriad to cross genres and just...do whatever he wants to do. Ed wants to rap? He raps. He wants to sing? He sings. Ed wants to bring on Em and let the dude spotlight HIS concert, he does it. 2) Eminem at this point is just a living legend. What else is there to say about the guy? lol

There is also the stories Ed has mentioned about when he was growing up he got a copy of Eminem's album and would play it over and over, eventually singing/rapping the lyrics, and it helped him overcome his stuttering. Which eventually came back around where he could work with Eminem.
Ed been hanging out with rappers since SBTV days before he was selling out concerts.
You can see how happy Ed is being on stage with Slim. I would have loved being in that crowd!
I wished I could have been there too. I’m a Detroiter and totally didn’t even know Ed was having a concert here until my daughter told me. She got tickets for her and her fiancé that’s visiting from England. When she got home she told me how crazy loud the crowd got, she said you couldn’t even here Eminem sing.

Eminem is without a doubt in that upper, upper echelon of a real legend of the last 30 years.
This was my first concert ever and I couldn't have asked for anything better. I was recording the video and as soon as Eminem came out, my hands started to shake and the crowd took frenzy to a new level. I guess this is what being starstruck feels like. Much respect for Ed Sheeran for this gift.

I was there. I can't describe how insane the crowd was when Eminem came up on stage. The energy was amazing! It was such a great concert! Ed makes you feel like he is truly happy to have you there. Khalid also had a colab performance with Ed and he got the crowd to sing and dance like a main event. Rosalynn did an amazing job being the first opener.

Fantastic, I’m in poor health and wondered if I’d ever live to see Eminem on stage again, this has made me beyond happy especially being from the U.K. and a big supporter of ed shearAN too…. I’ve had the opportunity to see Eminem in concert twice in the U.K. but unfortunately both times I missed out because I was in hospital trying just to stay alive..
