BTW, i shouldve included this in the video, but just to point out: there are a few things that are normal (and therefore right-wing), that are nonetheless bad. there's also many things that are not normal, that are also good! but most normal things are good (that's why they're normal), and the left is making a very bad mistake ceding all of those things to the right.
"Most normal things are good (that's why they're normal)", that's a naturalistic fallacy. Natural and cultural selection doesn't select for traits that are "good", they blindly select for things that in the immediate term lead to the perpetuation of the population and/or culture. Our way of living isn't sustainable, we are currently driving ourselves to extinction, so we MUST break apart from what we hold dear in our tradition.
@@DroppedBass
We HAVE broken apart from tradition, massively. This has lead to a delusional, unsustainable society that refuses to confront it's own problems. A progressive, anti-traditional society that marches forward regardless of it's flaws, blindly believing in false heroism and empty virtues.
No, we don't need to break apart from what we hold dear in our tradition. We need to RETURN to good parts of the past, the things that worked, or die trying.
all this to say, anyone who does sweeping generalisations to push a narrative is a walking red flag.
you've got the nerve to make one choice, least you could do is not be lazy about the rest of the choices you have to make.
@@DroppedBass are you suggesting natural selection doesn't work ? Or are you only using it in a social/human sense of "natural" ?
Natural selection doesn’t work… clearly. How tf would a quadriplegic survive if it did?
So, having self-control is right wing. Wanting to fall in love and have a family is right wing. Being healthy and getting sunshine are right wing. Mental stability is right wing?! Lefties, are you okay? I'm actually really worried about you.
"Mental stability is right wing" is a wild thing to say during pride month
If they were okay they wouldn't be Lefties
If right wing equals evil and all these normal things that millions of people do in multiple countries, and evil is used as something that needs to be destroyed, what are these crazies trying saying exactly?
@Elleander1, is it not true? The left seems to reject reality at every turn for centuries.
They just seem like nice human qualities to me
People who think that monogamy is encouraging "Possessiveness and insecurity" are actaul psychopaths.
Case in point: Vaush
Polyamorists be wilin on god
It's a classic case of projection (and probably an inability (or unwillingness) to see how very wrong they were during their rebellious teenage years).
In the hedonistic minds of people like Vaush, being monogamous means that you are forbidding your partner from enjoying life. By being a garden tool, you know. Cuz in his mind, that's what's good in life: sleeping with the largest amount of people you can.
A lot of the ethos of progs boils down to pure Hedonism. It's the same logic that the childfree progs apply when they're making jokes about how peaceful their lives without children are. They can only see things from the perspective of how pleasurable it is for themselves.
Being possessive can be a good thing. It can prevent the spread of disease (by not sharing personal items), sense of responsibility (for your own children vs someone else's), harmony (because you don't have to bicker over who gets to use the thing) and prosperity (working harder to own more things).
My experience is that communally shared spaces/objects are nearly always treated as holding no value. They tend to get destroyed/mistreated. While personally owned space/objects are being assigned much higher value.

As a right-winger I'm all for this! The left continues to move the Overton Window and it thinks it's picking up followers when really it's just leaving everyone who sits in the middle in my camp. Yes, that's right, traditional families are right wing, so is working out, video games, action movies, heterosexuality, sanity, etc. etc. etc.
They target the mentally ill and demoralized in their snowball. These people are depressed and hopeless.
Let them cause their own end.
This only works if right wingers agree not to move. Do not validate moderates. Let them be disaffected by the left but do not call them right wingers. Right wingers adopting moderate philosophy is what caused them to win in the first place. If you do that again, a new generation of people who just want to be moderate would arise and suddenly, your opinion become far right (to the moderates, not just left wingers this time) which means they have won.
Yea, let them continuing saying that, just means we’ll win, because if normal people are pushed in our direction that’s a total win.
@user-pt1ky6db9y Yes, however there should be caution and defense cause these guys can still drag us down with them.
Imagine thinking monogamy is capitalist when capitalism is like 7000 years younger then monogamy.
Same with racism and fascism
Hookup culture is ironically way more capitalist than monogamy. The winners are the top-tier men who can sleep with whatever women they want because their sex partners aren't confined to a single man, and the Sex workers (porn stars, OF models, etc.) who profit off the lonely men who can't get any.
@@dexter2392people like to ascribe relatively modern political and economic ideologies to ancient problems and or concepts for whatever reason.
Hello. I've seen videos by Marxists relating to this. They don't think that capitalism is old. Their argument is that the patriarchal family structure is a consequence of the development of agriculture. With ag, there came to be enough wealth that inheritance of the wealth came into being. This, for them, is the start of private property which is continued into and is an important pillar upholding modern capitalism. I'm not a fan of this view, but it is what is actually argued.
Also polyamory historically has been a _patriarcal_ trend, back when it was commonplace it was pretty much always men with multiple wives, not the other way around and it was a high-class practice. It was done by fellas like Solomon, Gengis-Khan or Alexander the great. If you were a peseant you didn't get that perk. Even nowadays the few places where it's _normalized_ still follows that pattern.
So how is polyamory both anti-capitalist but also feminist is beyond me. In current day America polyamory is a red herring, the vast majority of time what happens is that either or both are just looking to _trade up_ while not losing the benefits of their current relationship.
Just look at Destiny's ex wife, once she found a guy she liked more she dumped him and suddenly she's exclusive with the new guy.
I read something a long time ago. If you see a sidewalk and think, "I'm not going to let that sidewalk tell me where to walk", and thus you walk in the grass next to the sidewalk, you are still letting the sidewalk determine where you walk. If your worldview is simply "I'm not going to be right-wing", then all someone has to do to manipulate you is convince you that something normal, something healthy, something good for you is right-wing. You have no morals or values of your own other than "not that", so whoever defines what "that" is controls you.
Well at least the sidewalk is something concrete (haw haw!) What constitutes “right wing” is in perpetual flux, determined by the whims of the social justice priest class.
"Not that" is the only thing the commies know. They don't actually have practical structural policy suggestions nor can they look beyond the tips of their noses to see the long-term results of tearing down social structures.
"Communism doesn't know how."
"if you look at the abyss" "Duck season! Bunny season"
Oh, I think this is actually a really good call out. I feel like the left has made it so that being seen as right wing is so evil, you need to do anything possible to avoid it. But if they shift the goalposts, rather than you staying steadfast in your beliefs, you must continue to change them to avoid becoming right leaning, or else you risk being on of the evils you've been fighting against.
I mean, look at people like Arielle Sarcella - I would personally consider her very, very liberal, and in turn, very leftist by turn of the century metrics. Now she's had to identify as right leaning because of the Overton window. Unfortunately, many people don't make the change, or at least start leaving 'leftism' behind because of the severe backlash.
For example, I have a friend who's leftist and I know is kind of reasonable, but she'll argue identity politics all the time because she cannot be counterculture. However, half of our game group is either conservative or moderate, so she does at least tolerate opinions against the grain, and will even agree with them, but she always has to make sure she ends on the leftist side of the goal post.

Watching Craig rediscover the social media landscape over the last year has been a fascinating thing to watch. I was pretty bummed as a kid when he left Screw Attack. Evil Craig always made me laugh. So as an adult, finding a figure from my childhood who didn't become insane/ wasn't secretly insane the whole time was vindicating in a weird way. It felt like I was right to appreciate his content.

Here in Italy, every time a violent crime is committed by an immigrant, which is a relevant number of cases, the detail is carefully omitted in the title of the article, if not in the whole article, as to avoid racist reactions.
Normal people notice it and vote right because it's the only way they have to express their concerns about rampant illegal immigration without being accused of racism, as in most other western country.
Too bad that, despite being a right-wing prime minister on paper, Giorgia Meloni has done nothing serious about it since she's been elected, just as the conservatives in Britain.
We can play a game in the US. If the race of a criminal is not stated in the news, 99.99% of the time its because they're black. Its done for the same "dont be racist" reason you stated.

Probably "the belief that people should be responsible for their own actions, and that government should be limited" or something to that effect. But with spooky music in a background, so you know it's bad, even though it doesn't sound bad.
When you're a conservative, you attempt to *conserve* the norm or try to return the norm. When you're a liberal, you attempt to *liberate* the norm and make it more radical. That's why classical liberals are conservative because they already did the liberating and now wish to conserve it while modern liberals keep pushing the boundary. The names of these stances have meanings.
That makes a lot of sense, I’ve never considered that aspect of it
This is why I prefer the term progressive to refer to the left. It implies a constant movement, while liberalism implies an ideal of liberty rather than either keeping things the way they are or changing them. Liberalism used to be a ‘progressive’ movement in that a different set of ideals was in place, but now that liberal ideals have largely been established, it tends to be more ‘conservative’
@@user-bi3bv3xo1g I'm not so sure about that. Progressive appears like a positive term implying movement in a forward direction for the better, liberal is neutral and the counterpart to Progressive is Regressive which has a negative context. There is never going to be a term that suits an entire group perfectly but Progressive seems further from accurate rather than closer.
I partly disagree. Yes, many of the current standards are liberal, so a liberal wants to conserve them. That being said, liberalism is not about liberating the norm, it's about letting freedom and incentives structure society rather than use force. Progressives want to coercively enforce change to everyone, disregarding optimality, feasibility and the will of the governed, which is deeply illiberal. Liberalism adapts, progressivism arbitrarily changes. Liberalism is flexible, progressivism is unstable.

I've been trying to explain this concept to various acquaintances for a while now (especially the "All Evil Things are seen as automatically Right-Wing part), but most of them don't seem to get it. Either that, or ironically, their "normalcy filter" causes them to just not see it.
It is something even a lot of "normal" left-ward people (your Bill Maher types for example) do subconsciously, associating bad things with right wing, saying things like left-wing authoritarianism and right-wing libertarianism are impossible oxymorons and so forth. There's less of it now since the left is proving itself capable of authoritarianism constantly, though.
Are they on twitter? Because I suspect they aren't ... they'd see it there (if they were really moderates).
@@Kanaleah Which is funny because the rightwing was ALWAYS represented by spontaneous human nature no matter how "oppressive and unfair" it seemed to spiteful mutants because they got the short side of the stick, while the Left always relied on violence, terror, social engineering, absolutism and even genocide-scale mass murder on order to FORCE their metaphysical abstract "values" to the normal flow of history.
The truth is acutally more messy. I studied a lot, and all humans see thenselves as good and their opposition as evil. What the information is do not matter, just what side the information is. Everything that support the human side is good logical and truth, everything who oppose is evil illogical and false. Every hunan believe that their opposition is moved by self interest.
'Normalcy filter' is a perfect phrase for this phenomena. I've been trying to figure out how I would convince a normie that wokeness is a bad thing and the best I've come up with is 'Hope they'll hear out something that sounds crazy'. Maybe things will change as the progs continue their march to 'Utopia'.
What you describe in this video can be seen in TV series that started before 2012 and lasted through that era. Whether or not you like the show, Big Bang Theory is a good example of this. The show really started going downhill when they tried changing hot girl next door Penny into girl boss Penny.
The leftoids don’t understand tropes and memes and actual diversity… they cheer for the most obvious identifiable traits and don’t realise that the secondary traits like job or personality or hobbies are more important to a persons character. That’s all a fictional character has for an audience to engage with. It’s also why the one dimensional girl boss shows like She Hulk are so bad. No depth of character.
Still, they ended everybody's story with marriage and family, so it did alright.
"Started going downhill" Ah, how the mighty have fallen! Lol
One example I can think of that did the reverse of that is Red vs. Blue, that old webseries made in old Halo games by people who are kind of old now, which a lot of people who grew up in the 2000s have vague nostalgic memories about for some reason. Tex, from the earlier seasons leading up to 2012, was just the “girl who’s cooler than the guys”. Meanwhile Carolina basically replaced Tex but ended up being better than her in every way, including being an actual likeable character with flaws and development. The relationship the Reds and Blues had with Tex was just this: “oh fuck she’s here to kick our asses again”, while their relationship with Carolina is more complex than I can even describe because she actually has unique dynamics with different characters.
I almost always bring up this show in sociopolitical discussions, especially the 12th and 13th seasons because of how unbelievably relevant their central conflict, character arcs, worldbuilding, political implications, and everything are. Even the name of the show says both everything you need to know but also nothing at the same time, because it gets so much deeper than you (or I) would ever expect and the parallels to our world go beyond the titular Reds and Blues. Referencing this show is also one of the only ways I can talk without getting shadowbanned.
Meanwhile the crisis in politics stems in serious part due to the fact that the obstansocely right wing party has for at least a decade been left wing and the left wing party is far left. See: the UK, Germany, France, Canada and Australia just off the top of my head.
Right and left are both relative to yheir culture. That's why the Nazis were 'right wing'-- they were being compared to Soviet Russia.

There was a group of friends that I’m not really friends with anymore. They were great writers (some of them anyway) and it was amazing to finally have that kind of company, but a lot of them were just too… like this. I spent a year with them until I just couldn’t take the anxiety anymore and just completely ghosted them. That didn’t even take any effort because not a single one of them even tried reaching out when I just suddenly ditched them. I completely agree with this.
"If your kids want to have kids, then they're far right."
Doesn't that mean the person reading it is also far right?
To be reductive about every argument Jordan Peterson has ever made: the normal is good because it works, and it works because it was forged in the fires of ideological evolution where things that don’t work are discarded, and things that do work are kept and normalized.
This is what he’s getting at when he talks about archetypes
Fun fact: Progs will claim those are no longer right wing the moment a right winger claims them. They will try their best to subvert the idea and claim "good people" want that, thus, it cannot be right wing
Normies get told something is right wing to curry them to the left and stigmatize the right, but rightwingers get told it's normal. They're talking out of both sides of the mouth (opportunistic lying) to marginalize their opponents.
Having kids 100% made me more conservative. It made me realize what's important. Life and society is about family and children, not about making twisted and cumbersome rationalizations to justify doing whatever I feel like doing to get my rocks off no matter who it hurts.
What's made me more conservative (unfortunately no kids yet) is realizing post-COVID that nobody has a sense of community anymore. So many people I know want the government to solve their issues and they have all these great ideas for what needs to be fixed but no involvement in solutions. We need everyone to get a sense of community and knowing their neighbors, even if they don't have a family of their own.
@@peteyoung3124which is incredibly ironic cause all these socialists talk about community and a sense of collective identity and purpose but usually are the first to spit on community or look down on more classical “conservative” communities.

No because it’s been co-opted. Therapy used to be about helping the person learn to function in society. Now it’s all affirmation bs that society needs to bend to them. I’ve seen the very concept of coping skills being called wrong. Yet teaching coping skills so they can more comfortably function within society works because eventually they become an automatic response to the offending stimulus thus making them more comfortable and happier long term. Imagine thinking being exclusive is being possessive. Um, yes. I appreciate the lack of STDs in my relationship. I appreciate a person that loves me, and I love them knowing that it's us against the world.
How dare you not want to "Catch 'em All!" and share with everyone else too. Why are you such a possessive and insecure capitalist?
Progs are losers. Destiny can’t land a girl like Melania exclusively so has to share. They construct a worldview to justify why sharing is acceptable while never questioning why they should have to share, given the enormous expense of raising 2-3 children while forcing women to subjugate their ability to sexually climb.
Women can’t do polygamy with kids. They lose out badly. Ironically the old school approach was more female friendly than the hippie feminist approach. Look at a mother of forty. She isn’t screwing ten guys.
imo there's nothing wrong with open relationships, but it's very normal to want exclusivity.
What's worse is they way they phrase it, like Vaush. Basically they state that the ideal form of relationship is treating yourself as communal property, meaning that anyone can come on to you and the _moral_ thing to do is letting them have their way with you, regardless if you even fancy them or are even attracted to them. They don't outright say that you don't have consent but if you refuse then you somehow are capitalist bigot for keeping yourself as _private property_ and are _moraly wrong_
That reasoning gives vibes of a _grape cullture_ which ironically is something they've claimed it's a thing under the _reign of patriarchy_ but since their version of it is _safe horny_ then it's an utopia and not a disgusting mentality that should get them on a whatchlist (like our friend Vaush which is both a PDF file and heavily into horses).

"Center-right" commentator Brad Polumbo caught some flak from a popularish woketuber (Emma Thorne) for referring to himself for being "normal" in contrast to progs. The comments were painful to read.
what's always funny to me about the leftists saying the sixties were just a halcyon myth is that I live in a rural community that has only urbanized semi recently. many people here are still literally living like the people in those posters, I can drive past a row of houses in summer or spring and there's a good chance I see an old timer in his rocking chair sipping an ice tea waving to his neighbors. people just drew the life they saw and lived.
I've been working the word "nominal" more into my vocabulary lately because of idiots attributing moral quality to the term "normal", despite how a lot of "normal" things are clearly bad, like divorce, freezing cold in the winter, or something something 13% something something 50% something something. "Normal" isn't a value judgment. It means that something is within reasonable statistical expectation. No more, no less.
The left's mistake in this regard is that their hate of the right makes them hate the normal by extension, hence their supposed counterbalance in exalting the aberrant or anomalous as morally good. Just look how they get about the word "queer", which strictly speaking just means "weird". This is why they bellyache about the plight of minorities despite never arriving at the realization that the most exclusive minority is the individual. It's not about principle. It's about morally conflating strangeness with goodness. What the left fails to grasp is that "normal" isn't something the right _likes_ per se. Rather, because the normal is predictable, the right is able to factor in and compensate for the less savory parts of normality to the point of being able to not just endure normal conditions, but _thrive_ under them. This affinity for the normal isn't an affection any more than owning a space heater makes you _like_ the cold. (If anything, it suggests the opposite.) We learned to deal with it where we could, and we engineered solutions to expand the scope of things we could deal with.
For more fun in this vein, compare the sociological definition of the word "tolerance" (accepting the differences of people who are dissimilar to you) and the _engineering_ definition of "tolerance" (the degree of abuse, imperfection, or attrition a system can endure before no longer being able to operate to acceptable standards). Or the sociological definition of "compromise" (a mutual agreement between two parties) versus the engineering definition of "compromise" (to make a system no longer able to perform its intended function). If that dichotomy doesn't just spell out the entire fundamental difference between the left and the right...
