@kingsadvisor18 I never wore a Kevlar vest nor carried mags on a rig but I don't need to be a soldier to assume that stuff is heavy.
Why else do they put recruits through rigorous exercises? Running, push-ups, etc.
Vaush would probably collapse under the weight of it all or struggle to keep up in general.
@@Ranatosk Yup it's heavy, I'm a combat infantryman from the Iraq war. In basic they made us do so much PT and ruck marches while carrying at least 80lbs of gear. I personally don't think people like Vaush are "hard" enough to withstand combat. I've seen things I wish I could forget

Exactly. As an actual anarchist (in theory, my day to day politics are far more pragmatic and reformist), I cringe every time I hear or see these types of people even remotely associated with the beliefs and ideas of George Orwell, Bakunin, Proudhon, etc.

The key point that turned me away from socialism. It's deceivingly persuasive, but this crabs-in-bucket mentality is what breaks the veil: they are leeches that will neither work, neither fight, neither practice their ideals, only make good-intentioned allies do everything. They must be deceiving so many actually good people, wrapping their ideas in compassionate package, only to wear their souls down with doublethink and cult-like shaming tactics, and in the end make them face the wall when revolution is over. And they won't even have the balls to hold the gun themselves.

"Can never take over" have you been living under a rock? Physical strength is completely irrelevant when you have numbers to take over every institution through sheer camaraderie centered around frailty and sensitivity over things like "oppression".

I am disabled. I find it so infuriating that people say who have a disability "I can't go to the gym because of my whatevertheheck". It is so much more important that you do because how adaptable you are to change is less than most people. You have to try and stay as healthy as long as possible because when I get old or sick or whatever it is going to be much harder than most. It is hard for me to go to the shops now, imagine how hard it is going to be in 30 years. I have to prevent that from happening as much as possible and lessen the impacts of 'worst case' scenarios.
There's a guy in my jiu-jitsu class with no legs. Having been choked out by him, I will never listen to the I'm Disabled I Can't Improve My Body bullshit as long as I live.
I can totally relate. My Autistic ass still lifts weights, goes for hikes, and rides bikes. 😂
Having a fitness routine keeps my mind grounded, and the repetition helps me get into a rhythm. It's a win-win!
I'm also partially disabled with heavy chronic pain. I can work out at gym, but I can't go as hard as I would like, have to take longer breaks, and every session is literal pain for me which I have to suck up, and unlike that other pain, mine gives no gain.
What I also noticed myself is how narcissistic these people are. When I myself read someone state "you should work out", "you should be strong", "you should go hard in the gym" I agree with it even though it's not possible to me, I understand it's pointed towards normal healthy people and not me, it's obvious I'm not the "target audience" here. Meanwhile their reaction is to get offended, as if someone called them out personally. Which either means they're straight up narcissists, thinking everything is about them and entire world revolves around them therefore every statement they see must be personal attack; or they just use this as excuse and indeed feel called out on their bullshit. Neither option is good look for them.
This reminds me of a post asking "if you are a leftist why don't you own a gun?"

I mean, was somebody who was born filthy stinking rich and never had to really work a day in their lives higher on the totem pole than a tradie or labourer just because they have more money? Why? Also, in nature, you see many social animals (like us) aid injured, sick or otherwise impaired partners, family or group to the detriment of themselves. Then we turn around and say every person should fend for themselves when, no, we should fend for each other. Idk I just find it a bit silly, especially because it isn’t really accepted as an accurate or helpful ideology when applied to society.

I just altered my workout regimen to focus more on strongman abilities - I want to be able to lift and carry my husband and future mastiffs if/when they get hurt. The idea that it makes socialists and communists angry is a great motivator!
Do not neglect cardio and stamina. For the purposes of rescue, practice the fireman carry as soon as you feel able to. Protein and calcium for developing stronger bones, muscles and tendons.
Consistency in workout is key.
Increase intensity when you feel you have gotten used to the current level and it feels easy.

A big part of that is modifying your rest period between sets. Building strength is spaced reps at high weight, endurance is high weight with short periods in between,

Working out and becoming fit, is likely enough of a mood boost to shift them out of whatever bout of depression that keeps them that deep in Twitter. So makes sense they would discourage people from doing so.
Going by my own experience, there are people who *want* to be depressed. Because (in their minds) it absolves them from all responsibility.
Didn't shower in two weeks? Not my fault, I'm depressed.
Didn't go to the job interview? Can't help it, I'm depressed.
Everything in their lives that doesn't go well is, you guessed it, due to depression. And everybody around them owes them because of depression.
I don't think it's a conscious decision, it seems to be more instinctual. Still ... meh, not a fan.

I’m sure there’s some people who do that, but most the depressed people in my life do those things not because they’re just, say, using their depression as an escape or way out of responsibility, but because they literally can’t. At least not yet (the goal is to escape depression not wallow in it obviously). I’m not depressed, never have been, so it’s hard for me to intuitively understand what they’re feeling. But when someone you care about literally has a panic attack somewhere with you, it makes you think. If that all makes sense.

I do not say, nor imply, that *all* people with depression are like that.
Some do, though, and it needs to be pointed out and taken into consideration when talking about the topic.
You seem to want to defend a group of people (i.e. those with depression who are actually trying to do something about it) that I wasn't addressing.
Last point: panic attacks are a completely different topic altogether. While they can go hand in hand with depression, they are a separate issue. Not all depressed people have panic attacks, and not all people with panic attacks have depression.

Completely fair response. I guess in my personal life a lot of the depressed people I know also struggle with varying levels of anxiety, so I do conflate the two without real reason.

Many of the far left stance is somewhat similar to people who go through weight loss surgery or steroids.
The surgery is designed to assist in weight loss and steroids are designed for assist in muscle gain but it is not magic that give results instantly. You have to put in the effort to make them effective.

Also I have chronic pain but I still work out every day because strengthening your muscles helps you deal with the pain, so it's possible to exercise if you have chronic pain (and exercise helps your mental health too so it's a win win scenario)

A youtuber I follow mentioned something similar. But I think it will lose. The US military is exhausted, demoralized, full of incompetent diversity hires, woke officers, crushed under the weight of politically correct standards.
It has fewer and fewer of the precious strong fighting men, dedicated comissioned / non-comissioned officers, and skilled technical staff it NEEDS to function well, if at all.
And those that remain are either fresh faces with little experience or tired, disillusioned veterans who have seen too much death for no real gain.
Those whose terms are up or quit, tend to not re-enlist. There is also a significant shortfall of new recruits coming in. The budget is screwed up as well - COVID lockdowns, Bidenomics, massive donations first to Ukraine, then Israel, are draining the treasury.
The US military is operating on a temporary budget right now. They've also used up a noticeable stock of munitions, drones and disposable weapons, which have been sent first to Ukraine, and now to Israel. The US military industry needs time and money to ramp up production and open up more armaments plants.
And it is unlikely that the Pentagon will make up this shortfall by hiring mercenaries en masse, which tend to be unreliable and unwilling to give their lives en masse for the mission. Mercs tend to want to live long enough to enjoy their considerable salaries.
