Doctor Who: 'The First Question' - The Extended Cut - 50th Anniversary Trailer (HD)

A while back i proposed the idea of creating an extended edition of 'The First Question', this new cut would feature new additional scenes to expand upon the original. Before piecing the video together, i looked closely at previous comments and feedback about what could be included in the cut, this included a stronger insight into the show's exploration of loss and death as well as different companions, enemies and various other elements. In this cut, i have tried to keep in trend with the original, striking a balance between all eleven doctors. This video isn't intended to replace the previous version, but instead expand upon the show's legacy. Given the fact that the run-time for the video lasts 7:06, its hard to conceive as a 'trailer' but none the less it works as a kind of tribute. For those wishing to view the extended scenes only, the clips begin at 2:36 and conclude at 5:04. Many thanks for all of your continued support, hope you all enjoy ! Hello there guys!! Thought give an update on the re-tooling! It's practically finished, the new-look title cards are just being put together! The video remains close to the original, there's over a minute and a half of new sequences along with some newer clips which have been incorporated into the original video. I'm a huge fan of classic doctor who, and I thoguth they did a wonderful job with doing what they could with classic DW as well as new who in the 50th Anniversary, but you know.. you can never please Whovians...

Great memories of all the 'Doctors' here. I grew up watching, Jon Pertwee, and Tom Baker - they were my favourite Doctors. But I also loved, the early episodes with William Hartnell, and Patrick Troughton.
Afterwards, there were the others, but I feel, that there is too much comedy in Doctor Who now, and not enough seriousness, like there used to be in the early episodes.
When I say 'seriousness', I mean in episodes like, 'The Talons of Weng Chiang', 'Logopolis', 'Castrovalva', 'The Curse of Fenric' 'Remembrance of the Daleks' [which I have to say was brilliant], as well as 'The Greatest Show in the Galaxy' [anyone who doesn't like clowns, do NOT watch that one. I loved it however. Bring back the seriousness to the show. That's what I want.

I've watched this so many times from the 50th anniversary till now and I still feel the energy of it. Such a brilliant celebration of all that has made the story of the Doctor so timeless. Better than anything the pros did. Thanks for sharing your love of the Doctor so that I felt it too.

Whenever I want to remember Dr Who prior to Moffat completely wrecking it I watch this. This was my Doctor and his adventures and this is how I choose to remember the show.
could you kindly explain why everyone is saying that moffat destroyed doctor who because I like the episodes that he makes they are not the best but enough for me.

His plots make no sense and take 3 years to finally be explained. He made the Doctor into the most important person in the universe and everyone wants to kill him or prevent him from saying his name. He made the Doctor sexist. He writes characters with no real personality, they don't even seem human (especially Clara). Every companion is just another thing for the Doctor to figure out, that's all they exist for.
He's great at individual episodes with characters that were already created by someone else. The Empty Child, The Girl in the Fireplace, Blink, and Silence in the Library were the best RTD era episodes. I just think he's a terrible showrunner.

Doctor Who Fan Like RTD is any better? Look at "Last of the Time Lords" and "End of Time" plot holes in both that could stop a truck. People single out moffat as the "worst" when in reality no writer from the new who era can compare to the writers of old who like Robert Holmes and Terrance Dicks.

This is a superb work. I have been watching Dr Who since the 1970's. This is a glimpse of the past 50 years of the Doctor that would serve well as an intro to the 50th anniversary special. KUDOS to you! This is absolutely BRILLIANT!

Moffat ruined Doctor Who, it used to be dark, interesting and worth watching until the end. I enjoyed the writing of RTD and the performances of Eccleston and Tennant, the stories made sense and were amazing! The 11 Doctor was made into a clown who managed to solve everything by having a laugh and a joke about it. I very much dis like the writing of Steven Moffat and I'm sure many others will agree.
