Being watching through his era for the first time it is slowly becoming one of my favourites, it actually feels like they are adventuring i don't get that feeling with new doctor who episodes anymore.
Peter Purves' overly-enthusiastic Texan character on the Empire State Building is a great laugh, unless you read the novelisation of The Chase. After seeing the TARDIS crew come and go, and then seeing the Dalek time machine come and go as well, he tries to tell the building staff about what he saw - and when he keeps insisting that he saw what he saw, is locked away in a mental institution for the rest of his life...

In my culture we have a saying that the older you are the more "child like" you become... and First Doctor EMBODIES that!
To be fair he was quite grumpy at the beggining. But as his adventures went on he was becoming more and more of chaotic gremlin and I'm all for it.
