quick kill it... Despite its shift toward crossovers and SUVs, Buick is still struggling in America. Many automotive experts criticize the brand for a decline in quality in recent years. The brand also suffers from the “twin vehicle” practice, in which GM uses a different brand name for nearly the same vehicle. This is our Boomers car brand and with them dying off slowly so is this brand.. GM is focused on Buick for China where it actually sales... give it a few years and Buick brand will no longer exist
The body shape and interior are solid. Big disappointment with engine, a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder should be offered with the Avenir. Great review !
@@kucingsucion all of the trax videos everyone was saying how many upgrades the car should have and I was thinking “that’s adding 10-15k easily and ruins the purpose of being affordable entry level car” idk what these people really expect for 25k
Nice vehicle but it looks like the RAV4 relieve your jam couldn't you come up with a better Design. This like I said you look like a rat for anyways Tumi this is out of Buick
True but Buick wanted to appeal to younger buyers so that’s why they put in the 3-cylinder engine and 6-speed automatic in order to make this affordable. Otherwise, if they put in a 4-cylinder engine, the price of this vehicle would well surpass the Encore GX Avenir and be just slightly below the Envision.
I really want to like this Envista Avenir, but I think there are a few too many cost cutting measures that make the $32K price tag unjustifiable. That being said, the lower trim models seem to be a great value.
That 8in drivers display looks horrible with al the black gloss surrounding it, otherwise the interior looks great. I wish this had a bit more power too, it should have 180-200hp.
Funny story about the new logo adorning all Buicks. Apparently, in the design phase, GM engineers did not want to take the time to make the old logo with the circle. So they came up with this simpler design to draw quickly on the prototype papers. Management saw this, and thought, "Cool new design for Buick." So now GM is putting out all Buicks with this new emblem, a design shortcut for GM engineering. Isn't that an odd true story?
My daughter bought the cousin vehicle, a 2024 Chevy Trax. She has had it for 3 weeks. It’s currently back at the dealer because the transmission would not go into drive. 🤦♂️ The first of many rides on a tow truck I am guessing.
Great review, only gripe I have is with anyone reviewing sportback/liftback vehicles, when reviewing the cargo bay, take out the shelf to show what the whole of the cargo bay can hold
Ordered one and it already got made! Just need to wait for delivery now. I like how the HWY and City mileage are similar. Our current Escape is almost 10MPG different between the two which makes our overall MPG under 25 instead of closer to 30 (which it can get to on road trips only).
I ordered a Trax 2RS and this envista is confusing me so much now... It is so hard to make a decision without seeing/driving them! You guys did drive them both, which one should i get, not considering thr price?! Comfort and sound system quality is important, which one is better? Thanks in advance 🙏
We recommend checking out Part 2 of this review, where we get into the comparison between Trax and Envista driving dynamics. Personally, I prefer the style of the Envista
CC any big differences from the Chevy Trax? Drivetrain is exactly the same, correct? Does it actually drive any different? What about the displays? The sloping roofline as you mentioned is one big difference resulting in a lot less cargo space. An idea for a follow-on video would be a buyers guide between the two brands. I"m sure alot of buyers will have the same questions about the two.
All the stuff you can see and touch is different for the most part. And you'll have to stay tuned for our drive impressions on July 11th due to the embargo!
The buick has a softer suspension so it'll drive a little nicer, better sound insulating windows, better materials used on the interior, and the Trax is an suv. the Envista is more of a sedan/SUV. the Buick should hold its value a little better aswell. I sell Buicks along with a few other brands, but I've got a Envista on order! recently totaled my car so I think this vehicle will be a great A to B
What were they thinking? If anything it should have been placed down on the dash itself where it's closer to anyone's fingers, not alone on the screen.
Anyone who is spending their hard earned $23000 on this because they can't afford anything more expensive is not going to care. We need more cheap cars like this and the Versa.
While this could be the case, first time car buyers will probably still decide on the Nissan Kicks because it’s cheaper and a 4-cylinder though it’s a weak 4.
I believe you I did a great job with this vehicle on design and features inside but the 1.2 l with turbo I think that's the part that's going to kind of buy them on the leg. They should have went with a 2.0 2.4 even a 3.0 would be great
A Honda crv has a bigger, more powerful yet more fuel efficient engine. This Buick is a throw away vehicle. That powertrain is a slap in the face to the Buick nameplate.
I like the styling quite a bit better than the Traxx, especially from the rear. Shame the Avenir doesn't have rear seat AC vents. Don't often have people in the rear seat, but living in Florida it would be nice for them to have vents when that happens.
It needs a rear wiper with that flat flat glass and , much like kia, hate, hate the divorced taillights....like the kia they are too low on the bumper and difficult (possibly dangerous) to see in traffic. Tail and signal and brake lights should be higher up on the rear for safety.
@@n2ufc1 4 Adults and luggage, you should really check out a buick envision. I feel like the envista is more for 1st time buyers or just an A to B vehicle
For this elegant design, they should put in a decent 2.5 liter 4 cylinder engine and a hybrid power train, should sell like a hot cake. But this 3 cylinder turbo is going to scare away a big crowd

They did a great job with the aesthetics and price, however the efficiency is a bit disappointing and probably a couple of things they could have tied together a bit more to make it feel more premium, like if the screen console better blended into the screen background and icons weren't set to make the edges so obvious, the screens wouldn't feel as small, some of which could fixed through software
Seriously. There’s a big gap between screens. They really could’ve done better with that space. The 3 cylinder with and lack of hp would be forgivable if it got 40mg but nope. Also no 360 camera!? Pass….
The exterior would’ve been flawless if it wasn’t for that rear taillight engineering. If they already have that big led running light up top, why can’t they just make that the brake light as well?? No need for lower brake lights as the entire top light doesn’t all move with the tailgate. GM did the same on the new bolts too. What a shame. Edit: and that central lower rear parking sensor. It’s like they tried to make it stand out.
First thing I'd do is hit the auto parts store and spend $10 bucks for some LED bulbs for the brake lights. Can't imagine how much GM saved by not making them LED standard.

Awesome style! nice to see Buick finally having the guts to show their bravery without having to combine elements of "Grandpa's Buick" definitely would be my choice over the Ford Escape. I liked every element discussed until the turn signal/brake light position was highlighted, that is the only thing I didn't like. The height of the hood on most SUV's would often mean the driver behind can't see them in slow moving bumper to bumper traffic. I'm also a driver who reacts to the cars ahead of the one in front. The Hyundai Tucson went this route and is the reason I wouldn't purchase it. When laws require rear window brake lights for safety it makes no sense why car makers would but turn signal/brake lights at bumper level which below where most drivers focus their vision.
My best friend and soulmate bought one. She has a 99 Suburban and got rear ended in a 25 mph zone. So the low stop lights scare me. Thank god she was not hurt. She loves it. For the price what else is available with the features? She has heated seats heated steering wheel and more than i care to list. for what? 25,588. crazy to me. And the 3 cylinder seems to handle it just fine. Had I not researched it I would never known it was a 3 cylinder engine. It's not going to win races but its adequate. I've only driven it twice and the only wishes I have is more side bolster on the seats not a fan of the start stop and the small back window. But she loves it and that's all that matters.
I've seen several reviews and most have been very positive. This car has a lot of attributes I've been hoping to find: An affordable car with a bias towards comfort and quietness. My "sporty" days are over, and I'm not rich. I would prefer a more conventional drivetrain, with better MPG, but I'm open to this.
WTH?!! ... a car that size with a turbo 3 cylinder engine??!!!! ..... pretty sure a lot of engines will be toasted for that model even before reaching 100K miles
GM still hasn't figured it out with the engines. A 3cyl is too small for a vehicle of this size. They tried putting a 4 banger in the massive Cadillac CT6, it didn't last long. It needs at least 175-180 hp at the minimum. When people spend money on new vehicles, they want it to get up and go. I see blown head gasket and cracked head in the making.
Nice job guys , I asked you guys if you could use a tape measure to measure from front to back and side to side and you did , thank you now we all should be happy and to know what’s the vehicle sizes for comparison 😂👍
No doubt this is a beautiful CUV and the price is excellent, but given GM Korea's reliability track record, I'm very leery of the Envista's long-term reliability. I'm not interested in spending $1,200 on a new turbo somewhere between 60k and 100k miles, among many other common issues. I may play it safe and wait a few years to see how reliability pans out for others first.
Agree, Buick did well by going with a traditional transmission. They should have buck the trend for turbo only engine options. The old standard Verano engine would have been fine. I"d be interested but not with a three cylinder engine and not with a turbo. Even in this video, it sounds like a sewing machine.
If you end up liking the car, just buy an extended warranty before the factory warranty expires. I'm looking at the Genesis GV80 coupe and I can't believe I like the Envista ST trim as much as I do. I'll have to test drive one to see how small and entry level it is. For $50K less I could easily sacrifice luxury and performance for style and value.
GM will always find a way tio costcut to their detriment. No reason why the rear is not LED for braking and turn signals. Just no excuse, especially for upper trim Buick Avenir.

Is it coming to the UK
That's a slug of an engine. Imagine loading up family and suitcases. You would have to stand on the accelerator to get it going.
How long before it breaks down?
I love these lil cute commuters
Wow! I really like it! Buick did a great job! It’s a great price
WTH?!! ... a car that size with a turbo 3 cylinder engine??!!!! ..... pretty sure a lot of engines will be toasted for that model even before reaching 100K miles
That seems like a very small engine to carry the weight of an SUV, and passengers.
Nice job guys , I asked you guys if you could use a tape measure to measure from front to back and side to side and you did , thank you
now we all should be happy and to know what’s the vehicle sizes for comparison 😂👍
Thanks! We pay attention to your all comments and suggestions!
Looks GOOOOD! I like it! Gosh, this or the Trax (or the Trailblazer? Or the Encore GX)?
I am disappointed that they do not have AWD
Does the Envista Avenir come with Bose speakers?
No version has any branded audio system
Pleas show base model if you can get one
GM manufactures it in China and S Korea and imports it to the US.
I wish they offered a more powerful Engine I would pay for the Upgrade!
The rear lighting arrangement is the only real crime here. Don’t mind the rest but the lights ☹️
Not a fan of the low stop lights. Wish they higher.
looks decent outside but just another disposible tiny turbo GM engine. 1.2T is trolling now.
GM will always find a way tio costcut to their detriment. No reason why the rear is not LED for braking and turn signals. Just no excuse, especially for upper trim Buick Avenir.
I hope a new Buick sedan comes too, following the same family feeling
