From Algeria, I am one big fan of Queen but I have always had a particular affection for this song since it says so much with so little sound effects, and that's the mark of great artists.
55 years old from South Africa and still feel every emotion when I hear this song. Freddie was a huge loss, today’s artists would get so schooled when compared to professionalism of Queen and the voice of Freddie.
Loved this song for years! But heard it again a few months after my Dad died, I cried my eyes out and was so heart broken. Tho he wrote the song fo his first love, the sentiment applies to every kind of love. Utterly beautiful
I saw them in concert after Freddie had died. They had another singer. For this song, Brian May came and sat with his guitar and played the song, and the audience sang it themselves and the singer didn't come on stage at all. It was actually really touching.
@Douglas Green I heard that Paul Rodgers was Freddie Mercury's favorite singer (of course I read this on the internet so who knows), so that's fitting. Unless the Original Poster saw with Adam Lambert.
I was in a disco the night Freddie's death was announced. the DJ stopped and told us. there were 5min(!) silence, tears, and then he played the rest of the night exclusively Queen. Will never forget that ...
I saw Queen and Adam Lambert in Sydney in 2014. Brian May started to sing this song alone, then a LifeSize video image of Freddie appeared on stage singing the rest, the audience went nuts! We were crying and singing along with Freddie! Every word. What a stroke of genius - what a moment. Joyous.
I respectfully disagree. Roger Taylor’s drums, vocals, and writing number 1 hits is as much part of Queen. Also John Deacon’s bass and writing number 1 songs are all part of Queen.
@@ginamontminy4339 Queen is definitely all four of them but you can get a wonderful song with just Freddie on vocals and Brian May on guitar. You couldn't really do the same with just Freddie and Roger or just Freddie and John. However, you still need all four of them for the full Queen experience.
The way Freddie got up and walked off just as the guitar solo was coming up and returned just in time to start singing again was a nice little touch of respect to give Brian his moment.
Brian May is one of the top 10 guitarists of all time. Freddie was a wild guy, but yes, he had a lot of respect for the extreme talent on stage with him.

I love that with the perfectionist that Brian May is, that he still psyches himself up before his solo by going, “okay”. He’s done it in a few live recordings.
Girls do not think that men are iron. Freddie will turn out his soul to everyone. Men can cry too. Clean performance, no auto-tunes and other electronics that destroy modern music! Excellent reaction!
I know how you feel. I get teary-eyed when I hear this song, not because it has some special meaning to me or it reminds me of somebody but because of Freddie's genius. Like you've said he was unique and there will be never be anyone who can sing Queen's songs the way he did.

Ya did a terrific job, kid. ♥️ PS- Don’t worry about the subscribers. They will definitely come. I’ve been around long enough to know. You are gonna do great things.
True. Queen are my favourite band of all time but I could never go and watch them live with Paul or Adam. I did go and see The Queen Extravaganza when Marc Martel fronted the band because he was the nearest thing to Freddie that we can hear live. It's a shame he left the group after just a few years.
Every time I hear this song I think of my wife who passed away in 2020 and I can't stop crying. R.I.P Lijda, love of my live.. R.I P Freddy, we miss you.
I saw Queen with Adam Lambert just over a year ago and Brian played and sang this song solo and it was easily the highlight of the concert. At the end, video of Freddie appeared on the big screen next to Brian and Brian gave his old friend a big smile. I must admit that brought a tear to my eye.
That solo of Brian’s is even more emotional than this beautiful one, I’d love to see you react to the Tokyo 2014 video with just Brian singing Love of My Life. Tears!
I freaking bawled seeing them in Dallas. Brian even started with, "This is a song I used to sing with Freddie". My wife and I were sobbing before the end.
I heard that song many times and every time it makes me cry. Try to watch the live concert from Rio '85. "Love of my life" sung by 250 thousands of people. Today there is no such concerts. In my opinion he was one of the greatest singer ever..
Freddie’s voice… gets you in the feels every time. Don’t forget a shout-out for Dr Brian May on the guitar - this was written as a piano piece, which don’t always transfer easily to guitar. Plus it’s not the easiest guitar piece in the world, and he’s playing it ON A DAMN’ 12-STRING! Plenty of guitarists hook a thumb over the neck to catch the low E string for some chords - Dr May is the only one I know of who does this on the low E *and* the A string. Much respect.
Rover waters You telling me Freddie wasn’t a “composer”…? Rapsody was all him… must agree to disagre… I have read and heard on more than one occasion that Freddy wrote all the leads to that song…
Still gets me every time. Queens ‘moment’ with every live audience, the joy of experiencing this emotion at 4 live concerts is unmatched. Freddie……King. ❤
I'm 67 and took my daughter, 41 years younger than I, to see Queen in 2019. I had to pass the torch to a younger generation. I guess I could start with my daughter. She loved Adam Lambert. Queen incorporated clips of Freddy to keep Freddy's memories going. You have to see them in concert. Totally awesome, down memory lane, and seeing so many young kids seeing them for the first time makes me elated. Queen will continue for a long time.
The good thing about Queen: you always know who of the guys wrote that song. And this is a typical Mercury song. And the greatest gift he could give to Mary.
This by far is the greatest live performance of "Love of life" with Freddy's voice. The sound, the pitch and of course Brian's guitar is just amazing. Tears me up every time. The Rio performance is the best audience to sing along ever.

I was at that Montreal concert. It was fantastic beyond words. I was born and lived in Toronto. A bunch of pals drove 5 hours to Montreal, went to the concert and drove home to Toronto. We couldn’t afford a hotel! It was fantastic. We were up front near the stage. It took a week for my hearing to recover. But was it ever worth it.
I remember hearing about Freddies death on the news. I was driving along a road in Australia. I pulled over and cried like a baby. I never knew that a human heart really could physically ache from a sense of loss. He was and always will be the best. This song is gut wrenchingly emotional - he never knew what he meant to me. if you cry with this love of my life performance you should see Rock in rio from 1985. The Brazilian crowd surprised Freddie and it was so beautiful that he let the crowd sing most of the song. Brian's performance of love of my life at Rock in rio 2015 was dedicated to Freddie and it's fantastic too.
Brian May commands massive respect in the eyes of lead guitarists everywhere. Queen was blessed with fantastic musicians, and singers with seemingly unlimited range.
Both myself and the late wife loved Queen. I very rarely watch or listen to them now due to the fact I am the only one to enjoy them now. This was lovely.
This week I saw the movie on Netflix and I haven't stopped watching its videos, I don't know why I've missed them these 20 years and I've cried buckets, especially this song and the last ones from 1991.

Yesss.... Please react to this beautiful song with just Freddie on the Piano, talking about emotion!... a real tear jerker! but amazing as only Freddie can sing!...truly the G.O.A.T.
Wow, Brian still includes Freddie in live performances of Queen in these days. Look up concerts with Adam Lambert and Queen. Adam takes a backseat while Brian and a hologram of Freddie’s performance of the song. It’s a powerful tribute to Fred
I've seen Queen 3 times, twice with Freddy, once with Adam. Fantastic shows, each and every one. Queen puts on a show and performance. Theatrical, but full of rock.
Freddie was a genius. The greatest of all time. My biggest regret is I was born too late to see him in person. Rest in peace Freddie. We will love you always.
I want to thank you for appreciating Freddie as we "Boomers" do. IQueen was a bit b4 my time, but I was a late 80's kid who loved all music. Queen spoke to me... This song, made me cry WITH you, the love of my life took his life. I never felt it with a song as I did tonight with you. I'm sobbing, but in a good way. Thank you precious girl
Although this performance is superbly done, Love Of My Life (IMO) is better at 1986 Wembley. But, if you really want to see Freddie completely overwhelmed by the audience's love for him, you must watch this song performed at Rock'nRio. I tear up every time. Incredible. Lovely reaction, thank you.
I was lucky enough to be at the 1986 Wembley concert. It was, and still is, the best concert I have ever been to and I agree the 86 version with the crowd participation is still spine tingling to this day. Great reaction, by the way :-)
Another person reacting to my favorite band growing up. I was a fan from the beginning and purchased every album as they came out. I listen to them every day and must have a dose of Freddie’s voice daily. This concert was great; one of their best. BTW, “You don’t know it” was part of the verse meaning “you don’t know how much I love your love means to me”, Brian took it as if to tell the crowd they don’t know the lyrics, which is why he responded with “that’s all right”. You can see Freddie explain it off mic after. I’ve always thought that was a funny exchange. Save Me is another song from this concert that may be Freddie’s best vocal performance. More Queen!
Aah beautiful reaction dear!! This was an amazing performance by Freddie and Brian. I find the Montreal vids such good quality, and great to watch. Please react to Save me live at Montreal or Who wants to live forever live at Budapest. Much bless and keep up the good work.
why i shed tears when i watching this? it is not because she's crying, it is because the voice are so soulful & Freddie sang it with all his heart. yeah, although i listen to this song often in Spotify. yup, i was born in 1984.
for those who dont know or never tried: it is fookin hard to play a 12 string with such gentle touch and precision, its crazy how much power brian has in his fingers, his wife must be a lucky one for sure!

Love how Freddie walked off stage to let Brian have the spotlight. They both truly loved each other as brothers
Love this version. But my fav has to be from Rock in Rio ‘85-The audience was unreal
But you get to hear Freddie all through this one!
The audience singing was neat and all, but I tune in to hear Freddie, not them. She picked the correct one to react to.
I agree
@@russellevans2446 I love all versions. But this is quite special to me as I was in the audience: ua-cam.com/video/A2E8Ojkh_BE/v-deo.html
@@babooshka7601 nice!! I never got to see them live.
It makes me smile and cry watching you listen to this. I can’t count how many times I listened and what it does to you will never change…
I've never listened to LOVE OF MY LIFE without crying. God I miss Freddie Mercury so much. 😥🥺
Queen is my life❤👑
One of my favourite reactions to this version! Thank you for ... feeling!
This week I saw the movie on Netflix and I haven't stopped watching its videos, I don't know why I've missed them these 20 years and I've cried buckets, especially this song and the last ones from 1991.
Now you know how we felt 45 years ago when we first heard this.
i saw this live in 81 too, swear the girls next to me fainted, pure genius, freddie is immortal
Great reaction I understand your feelings I,ve heard it hundred times and every time I cry like a baby and have chills all over he's outstanding no body Can create a song like this freddie is unic the one and only ❤ 💙 😀
It's actually lovely to hear Freddy singing this song so beautifully without being drowned out by the audience for a change.
He actually liked the audience doing that my guy do your research.,.
Freddie*
@@individual_1 cool but he is talking about himself he just wanted to hear his clean voice without the crowd getting lit and i dont blaim him dude his voice out of this world
You take my breath away live from Hydepark 1976 is out of this world as well!,, Try it!
Freddie's version of 'love of my life' makes me so emotional. I love and will always love my darling Freddie.
The most beautiful song ever written ❤️
Im a 46 yr old man and this song still brings tears to my eyes. We miss you Freddy!!!!
What a treasure Queen and Freddie were. A cosmic gift of sorts. Thank you for the music and memories
Lap of the Gods live at Wembley is a stunning performance. Freddie's gritty rock voice is full force there and you'd love it. Amazing reaction
DAMN, Freddie could sing! This entire band was wonderful. Girl I love your videos.
You nailed it but this concert was also amazing
I was lucky enough to be at the 1986 Wembley concert. It was, and still is, the best concert I have ever been to and I agree the 86 version with the crowd participation is still spine tingling to this day. Great reaction, by the way :-)
The Japan concert has that too! Amazing
@@aphowells how did it feel? Hearing the legendary voice ? Live ? UA-cam clips can't come close to the true depth of his voice .
How did it feel?
My all time favourite song and don't worry about shedding a tear, I do every time.
More Queen!
Don’t worry you aren’t the only one crying, I just had to sing this myself to start crying
Freddie wrote this song for Mart who broke his heart. Rip great Freddie Mercury. Thanks for this masterpiece.
Awesome pure performance. Total audience participation says it all. Such talent. Shedding some tears here !
Same goosebumps when I am hearing Steve Perry. I love these legends.
A first class vocalist with a top class musician, just magic! Freddie must be the best pop/rock vocalist ever.
He had such an awesome voice. Rest in piece Freddy
"He's singing the words vs just the notes." Thank You.
for those who dont know or never tried: it is fookin hard to play a 12 string with such gentle touch and precision, its crazy how much power brian has in his fingers, his wife must be a lucky one for sure!
I've loved this song so much from day one. Gets me every time.
