I was sitting outside yesterday, and I had a book on a stand next to me. A jumping spider came by, and I thought he was going to crawl in my book, so I put my finger down to keep him from going near it, and he'd run away and come back. When he came back he stopped and raised his head to look at me. I thought that was so interesting. So, I did some reading up on them, and found that they run away from humans. So, I saw another one today, and when I put my hand near him, he didn't run away but came toward my hand. Then, he jumped on me, and I pulled my hand away. I put it back, and he jumped on me again. Crazy how two of the same spiders acted so different. But, the most fascinating thing was how the first one kept coming back to look at me. That was the coolest thing. :) Very cool video, by the way. :)
Nice, thanks for sharing your spider story, and yes, they are just like you and me, differing personalities based on their learned experiences or how they're wired; but all of them so very curious...which sometimes gets them in trouble (just like the cat. lol) They ALWAYS make me laugh as they love to check you out and interact with you; or at least until they get bored!
***** That's what makes them interesting to me--how curious they are. I'm always seeing them everywhere outside, so it's fun looking for them. Thanks. :)
at our farm i had one that would come out every morning for months when i had coffey on the deck. it would run up to me and then away and then back again. it never failed to come chill with me on the wide deck railing.. i missed it when it finally stopped. we currently have a beautiful female jumping spider like the males you posted..she is a bit larger bodied. lives in our mailbox.. she runs all over the place when we open the door... i got some great photos of her today.... also n the back of the box is a big nest i am sure she is guarding it the way she reacts every time the door is opened... i may try to relocate her afraid she will be smashed by the mail lady.. beautiful little spider... i have also had some albino jumping spiders in the house, i caught two and let them outside this year...
A glass jar with a breathable lid should do nicely. They will only eat live prey, like flies, etc. They do not make a web to catch prey but they will build a little web-nest to sleep in at night and they will usually build it near the top of the jar. A few sticks to climb on might be helpful. Keep it clean; take out dried out carcasses and provide a fine water spray once a day. They need to drink just like we do.
I thought it was cute, but got many comments suggesting otherwise! lol Also, it was b/4 I knew much about copy right material, and that was not good either! Live and learn! But glad you found it amusing!
Hello Bob. I do love jumping spiders, they are the only spider that doesnt freak me out. Have we found out yet why Jumping Spiders seem to be so curious and fearless of humans?

I just caught one in my backyard yesterday. I have a video of it on my channel. I always thaught of jumping spiders as tiny little guys. I never know they could be that big and beautiful 🕷🖤 thanks so much for sharing this information with us. Have a wonderful week!
I was sitting out on my porch in the sun weeks ago and there was one that found its way to me and kept coming back after I knocked it down...i will say it was a cute spider, and was not scared of me at all.....
They are really cute and i can hold them unlike most spiders but when they turn around and like lock eyes with me i get too scared that they could leap on my face at any moment and id freak out so i put it down.
Nice! Very good chance that this spider will not jump on your face...having said that, camera lens are another thing...they are fascinated by a camera lens and won't think twice about jumping on a camera lens! lol
Something about this video just makes me feel happy, all warm and fuzzy inside. Some people have comfort food or music when they are feeling low, I now have this. I adore jumping spiders (and tarantulas), can't get enough of them. Amazing video.
When they challenge each other, it appears as though its "C'mere guy, let's give you a big hug!' I think my video on the jumping spider I found is one of those guys. Very cool spiders. my favorite of all types of spiders
saw a jumping spider in my apartment, thought it looked very cute. was much smaller than these variety though. a bit mottled grey and black. haven't seen him since
I didn't know that this kind of spider exists until I found one on my car the other day. What a cute, smart and friendly spider! He's very curious and follows me around the garage now. He's a little bigger than the ones in this video.
I caught one yesterday, he/she is tan and black, i put him/her in a big fish tank, put some sand and rocks in it, and a bunch of bark, etc. He/she has already made a house under one of the pieces of bark, and i think that it killed a fly that i put in. Fun little spiders to watch.
I'll take that as a compliment! I really do enjoy watching them as they interact with their world. Jumpers are most fascinating and never fail to make me laugh! Thanks for watching! Bob
Jumpers are the only spiders I allow to live near me. They're the cutest little things! I like how they move and the best part is when they tilt their head. I saved one yesterday from nearly being eaten by my cat or stepped on. He was so unaffected by me sliding a glass down over him. I transported him to another part of the yard and he was fine with hanging out in the glass for a while even though he was free to go.
I love these!!!!! They are so cute!!!!!!! My brother's jumping spider is staying with me and I play with him all the time. He watched videos with me. I love him so much!
we have one in our mailbox i got some great photos of her today she is a bit chubbier then these lil guys. and is sooooo cute, she runs out and rares up because she has eggs n the back of the box. i only hope the mail lady does not crush her putting in mail. i may try to relocate her to the side of the hosue somewhere we have a few spots she might enjoy as well as the mailbox. its been a nice big place for her to run around. looooove these lil guys and gals.. so beautiful
Might want to wait until the little ones arrive, then move her. Sounds like she's being a good mama. Disruption at this time are not "nice!" lol Is the egg sac out of the way of "incoming" mail? This is one consideration for a move of mom and her sac.
her eggs are quite protected in the very back of the box. she runs towards the front when we go to get mail its squeals and giggles from whomever checks it ... thus far she has not gotten squished and i would miss seeing her when i go to the mailbox every day. guess i will leave her be, see what happens when the babies come... might have to dust off the envelopes if there is very many of these lil guys. :-) her big metalic mouthpieces are quite spectacular to observe and she is so attentive, looking up at me from the mailbox lid... one of the joys of my day is seeing her when i check mail. .
Ahh I think these little guys are so fricken cute. My friend is terrified of spiders while I'm just sitting here calling them cute. The way they move is really cool too :)
I like your enthusiasm, you're a great narrator! I've read that jumping spiders are harmless to people, but I was just wondering if you have ever been bitten? Does it hurt? I saw a jumping spider in my house one time, and I was able to look it up and identify it as a Hespera Theodina. I let him go outside when I read that they're not dangerous to humans. I'm kind of thinking about trying to catch one and maybe keep it for a little while as a pet. But I'm just wondering what I'm getting myself into. In case I do get bitten, how bad would it be?
I've played with jumping spiders of different kinds on numerous occasions. I find them to be quite docile. The chances of getting bitten aren't that great. And on the odd chance you do get bitten, it's nothing to worry about; they're completely harmless! Just wash the area with soap and water to guard against any bacteria. Be sure to give the spiders their space in between handlings and time to hunt if they need to. I actually find that some jumpers seem to rather enjoy climbing about on me though!
+kroakie4 That's good to know. Thank you! I normally hate spiders, but I have to admit that jumping spiders look kind of cute! I've seen a lot of videos and their behavior is amazing. When I saw that one in my bedroom, he didn't seem to be that defensive, he was calm and was easy to catch in a bottle. I wonder if there are certain times of the year when they come out more often. I haven't seen any others.
+ct92404 I wouldn't be concerned about a bite from a jumper, such as the one in this video. KI've never been bit by one and I handle them all the time! If you did happen to squeeze one and got bit; nothing more than a red mark like a mosquito bite might produce (unless you are highly allergic to them as some people are to a bee sting).
I have hundreds of these jumping spiders in my backyard, one thing I did notice that they are different from other spiders is that they have four eyes in the front and two eyes behind their head so that they can see behind them jumping spiders are the only spiders that have two sets of eyes behind them
Yes, as you have said, but don't forget the two other eyes for lateral viewing on the sides of the head (eight eyes total). Nice arrangement which makes it very hard to sneak up on one from behind, unless they are zoned out! lol
We recently had a jumping spider in the home, he had a good look round and wandered around the rooms! He was quite happy to look at us at we looked at him. Beautiful little guy. You are so right that knowledge is power. I started studying spiders last spring and am now such a fan! they are remarkable little beings, intelligent and complex in their behaviour. Thank you for these wonderful videos and for sharing your knowledge and passion with us!
Great Video, I been fascinated with the jumping spiders all my life, my mom used to say before I learn how to walk I would watch them in the sunlight on the door screen. I have been bitten on my fingers when I was around 10 at the time, felt like a little pin prick & nothing else happen no swelling or pain. Wonderful little spiders I show kids & parents the benefits of allowing these little wonders to live in your house or garden, they are so smart that you can feed them from your fingers.
Thanks! Decided to do spiders today for homeschool and we have jumping spiders that I allowed to keep my house clean from all the other spiders and so my seven-year-old really enjoyed your video :-) I enjoyed it with him!
Hey thanks George, I appreciated your watching and taking the time to leave me a nice comment! My wife thought I was nuts when I suggested we turn a female loose in our living room for the winter. There were no corner cobwebs or any for that matter. But we had to warn a cleaning lady not to swat at any "cleaning" black fuzzy spider she may accidentally come upon! lol
so i have a tiny white with ornage dot jumping spider in my room for like 2 weeks. i would accasncly look up from day to day and see it. just now i crawled in to my arm . i got scared a first but i didnt bite me. 20 minutes later me and the spider are best friends. anything i should be afriad of ?
These guys are like the puppy dogs of arachnids =) I played with some wild ones over the summer, and they're really smart, playful and affectionate! The one I found at the park was playing a jumping/web-shooting game with me, and if I put my hand out to jump he would jump on me and liked to chill. I totally brought that guy back home to garden, we became friends, haha :-p They're so happy and adorable!
I don't know which species of jumping spiders I keep seeing in my room but those suckers run hella fast ! ! ! 😨😨 Almost thought it might be something else until I kept seeing them!
I want jumping spider as well but unfortunately there is no website that sells any :( I have been looking hard everywhere to get lucky to catch one :) I look for male and female so they can make more of those cute little things :D
Careful like most spiders female jumpers have been known to kill and eat any males they don't find suitable or if they are end up doing that anyway after mating.
It's more amusing to keep them in a Taco Bell cup. You can literally house them anywhere and they won't care so long as they get crickets. Just be mindful of the jumping and speed they have. You never want to have it teleport from your hand to your windowsill and not know where the heck it went.
@@jayjay86443 I don't know about that. Their intelligence, life-style and eyesight makes me believe they treasure large areas, so a small enclosure might not make them very happy, unless you take them out and play with them, then yeah they'll be fine.
I saw alot of these cuties when I was living in Turkey. I enjoyed watching them on my balcony. Sometimes we would just sit and observe each other - lol!
I love all those too!! I like all kinds of bugs and insects, reptiles and amphibians, arachnids and myriapods. They're all fascinating creatures! And jumping spiders are just plain adorable!! 😛😄
+Zachary Christos The Phiddipus As are found all over the US, as are many other species that are mostly found in certain states based on the weather and heat index.
Hey Bob. My girl finally managed to hatch several spiderlings. What do the little ones eat? I fed momma some crickets which she wasted no time in downing. I wonder if she fed one to the spiderlings.
If they're P.a's, you will need very tiny (store bought) wingless fruit flies. I personally left them all go as feeding them is very hard to do. Maybe you can keep a couple and try raising them. They will need a misting of water each morning and keep their jar/enclosure clean. You'll need to separate them once they mature and get bigger. Good luck! PS: Crickets would be too big for the spiderlings so she enjoyed them all by herself! lol
Haha, she tended to her brood for about a week till one day the little ones all decided it was time to set out on their own. I wonder what triggers their departure. After they were gone mama was far more visible and sociable as well. This has been an exciting mini adventure, miniventure.
Their departure is "written" in their DNA! After all, they only have a year to live, so might as well get going...you only go around once! lol Glad ur enjoying the adventure...it is sun and amusing.
I collected this female in my brothers basement about 7 months or so. She was the same size then as she is now. So I presume she was a few months old then. I hope she lives longer than a few more months.
I found three of these in two days at my house, zebra jumping spider, tan jumping spider, and another zebra jumping spider... jumpings spiders are so cute
Amazing! It's so nice to find out someone else shares my opinion about the daring jumping spider. They are truly the most fascinating, and curious of all the spiders/insects. I can't help but play with one when I see them crawling around.
@BobTheSpiderHunter.. THANK U FOR UR GREAT VIDEOS! 😁 Can u or ANYBODY KNOWLEDGABLE please help answer... * (1) WILL JUMPING SPIDERS HUNT & KILL VERY SMALL BUGS/INSECTS LIKE (FUNGUS GNATS, THRIPS, APHIDS, WHITE FLIES & FLEAS)?? * (2) ALSO.. WILL THEY KILL EACHOTHER?.. LIKE IF I HAVE 1 I FOUND, THEN A WEEK LATER I FIND ANOTHER 1.. * (3) DO I KEEP THEM SEPERATED AT ALL TIMES? * (4) LASTLY, WILL ANY TYPE OF JUMPING SPIDER EVER (BITE US HUMANS)?.. ANYBODY KNOWLEDGABLE PLEASE REPLY SOON.
You can put the Tan jumping spiders together but not the Phidippus audax; they will try to eat each other, or at least the larger going after the smaller!
I enjoy your love of spiders, back in the late 70s, I became very curious about them, growing up in Florida, all kinds of them were everywhere. I had a Mexican red leg tarantula I got from a pet store, I could not handle it because I was allergic to her hair. I became good at finding and capturing wolf spiders, golden orb weaving spiders, etc. keeping them as pets. I once captured a large female huntsman with egg sack, which angered my mom. When I started catching black widows, that was it!
Great video Bob. Always been a fan of these guys. We have the salticus scenicus Zebra jumping spider here in the Vancouver. Fascinating to watch these guys hunting on the sides of a white stucco house on a hot, sunny day. I have never seen them feed but the fact they hang out near my garbage bins tells me they may be after flys or the multitude of ants in the area also. Thanks for the video.
Hey Russ, thanks for watching and taking the time to leave me a comment. I would have to agree with you with your Zebras staking out a claim at the garbage cans. Nothing like a place with plenty of flies to stalk to capture a jumpers attention! lol
I don't like most arachnids; but, I really like the Eastern Parson'a spider and, especially this one; THEY ARE AWESOME!!!!!!!!!! Love these little guys!
It's one of the films I have watched, way too many times! My other two favorites are "Fried Green Tomatoes" and "Sand by Me." Have a great day my friend!
I am loving insects more lately. I've always had interest but I just realized I am way more comfortable and take more care around them than other people. I also love the jumpers and find my self playing around with them in the summer while I sun bathe. I like to watch them hunt and they often do not get the prize. I recently brought in a nice snail and had a little batch of babies that I'm fostering. They are fun and an unlikely good pet.
Nice, I'm glad you had a chance to enjoy this awesome jumper! They are amazing little creatures and never cease to amuze me too when I engage with them! Bob
I love jumping spiders, they are adorable. I found one of these in the back yard of my grandparent's house years ago and took pictures. It watched me constantly. My mom also called me a month or so ago and told me she has a jumping spider that lives on her ceiling and every night for awhile it would go for a walk, haha.
So do I...you're not odd...there's lots of people who have found taking the time to enjoy these little creatures to be most fascinating and entertaining! More people should take the time to stop and enjoy nature that is all around us! There I said my thing! LOL Thanks for watching, Bob
Jumping spiders are so cute, I love the colors and the fuzzy look on them. I try to catch one to live in my kitchen window every year to catch flies. They are so daring and fast. Thanks for a great video.
those guys are huge compared to my two little habronattus decorus ! Rip little short-lived buddies. I got pics, but not good ones. Next yr I'm going to try and find more and get video this time. btw...97% cured of uber-arachnophobia that haunted me for 45+ yrs thanx to channels like yours and Dark Den and Exotics Lair. 45+yrs of night terrors absolutely gone. Thank you again.
Thanks for sharing your spider phobia story with me! I luv it when people are able to over come their fears of spiders by watching videos from others who make the spider less of a threat and more of a fascinating little animal that is "not out to get us!" lol. I have visited some of the channels that you and like what they're doing too!
@alumaman79 - Thanks for watching and leaving such a kind comment! Loved the snapper on your current channel. Did you wash him off b/4 filming..he was really clean! I'm used to seeing them caked in smelly mud. LOL, Take care and God bless you as well over there in Wisconsin. Have a great weekend. Bob
Looooove love loove jumping spiderz! I admit im a lil obsessed... quite fond of the orn weaver as well, or at least the one in my room over the winter. She was freakishly intelligent and so in tune with our family. 😮
Love these kind of spiders. I’ve had one living in my windowsill for over a week now. Everyday I’ll catch some flies and throw in there for it. It used to be scared of me. Now when I open the window to feed it it’ll move it’s head and look up at me. I don’t why but it touches my heart to see it do that ❤️
AD, great spider story, thx for sharing, and yes we love it because when we get over our fear of spiders we can actually enjoy observing them, and they us! These spiders enjoy interacting with us, but they quickly get bored with it all and move on to other adventures! lol.
What a lovely video! Just today I saw a bright, completely red jumping spider that was very interested in a bumble bee that was visiting nearby flowers. They have very endearing behaviors..
I remember Mean Joe Spider in Denver. He'd threaten you from across the room. We don't have Phidippus in Japan, but we have some smaller jumping spiders. A while back, I watched one trying to jump up from a watery ledge in my kitchen up to the window sill, and he wasn't making it. Finally, I offered him a finger, and he hopped on and I lifted him up to the window sill, where he hopped off. Then he turned, looked up at me and dropped his palps to the sill. It looked like he was grateful. I remain highly impressed with jumping spiders.
Sorry for the late reply, working on my doctorate! Your spider story is really cool, thx for sharing it with me, I don't too many spider stories from people in Japan.
Thanks for providing this info. I'll be more at ease in the garden today. I met a BOLD jumping spider yesterday watching me garden-planting seedlings in pots. It would jump from pot to pot closer and closer. Then it sat watching me. I kept moving the pot it was on away. Away from my work space. Away. It might attack. Away. It might bite. It kept coming back over and over watching me with that crazy face with frightening green pincher fangs. I thought a very smart creature but... does it bite? RUN! "Bold jumpers are shy spiders that retreat from humans when approached. If handled, they generally do not bite. When bites occur, minor pain, itching, swelling, and redness may persist for one to two days."
Right on all accounts! And I really enjoyed you "spider" story! They are so dang curious. It sometimes gets them into serious trouble...like the saying, "Curiosity killed the cat!" I love the green iridescent chelicerae, especially in direct sunlight. Once in awhile I get treated to one who has blue chelicerae. Have a great weekend!
I was working at my desk and one of these intelligent jumping spiders was sitting on top of the monitor watching me. As I moved, her head followed. When I would stand up above with my head above her... she crouched down and looked up. Wonderful species of spider! Got a nearby potted plant and brought it near. She immediately recognized it for what it was and jumped onto the nearest leaf. My desk-side pet :D
I love how they react. Last year I saw one on my porch and I tapped the wood right behind it. It jumped away but when I did it again it turned and faced my hand like it was a great enemy. They are so smart and awesome at the same time. Long live the spider bros.
Hey thanks so much for watching! I have never been bit by a jumper and don't ever expect that I will. You are right, jumpers usually have a very "jerky" movement. I have a Tarantula, and I don't like getting around her fangs; they're huge!!! I hold her from time to time, but wouldn't want to feel what a bite from her would be like!!! LOL Bob
I came to this video because a jumping spider keeps confronting me on my desk. Thanks to this video I now know it's just curious and not threatening. He/she has taken a good look at me (got real close) and is not checking out the random stuff on my desk. Thanks for posting, you put my arachnophobia to rest.
+Bob TheSpiderHunter do you know if they can become somewhat tame? The one in our garage kept coming back, and it would raise its front legs as if asking for juice.
Nice! Normally they raise their front legs as a posturing defensive or intimidated move when encountering another male. But they may raise their front legs when trying to get a females attention as well. In your case, your guess is as good as mine! lol
I remember seeing a few of your videos of these spiders a while back, and was out in the garden today trimming and one jumped onto my hand and looked up at me, i just paused and smiled at him and then released him into a scrub area. Cutest arachnid ever
I just saw a jumping spider on my door 10 minutes ago. I gently scooped it up in my hand and took it outside where it jumped off my hand and dangled down to the ground with its web. Jumping spiders are my fave spiders :D!
What is the proper care, feeding, temp range and containment for a temporary jumping spider pet to observe feed and release.... I see you have a ten gallon there outdoors. Thank you for any help or advice. I have loved jumpers since I was a kid....
I have an extreme form of arachnaphobia. But the way you talk and show the spiders actually made me smile and giggle when they started jumping around. I'm going to subscribe and try to battle my phobia :D
Thank you very much for your help and advice! I have always picked up jumpers and observed them since I was kid, they are clearly curious and intelligent. I intend on keeping one for a few days/weeks to see if it is successful. Can you lend advice on temp??... I keep the A/C turned down low at about 72. Is this too cold?... Thank you...
Male jumpers have "boxing gloves" on the ends of their pedipalps. The ends that are poofier, mean its a male. The female has some, but they dont have the bigger ends.
Two lovely male daring jumping spiders. Jumpers are my favorite as well. I've only come across one once in my life and it came to me. Little guy freaked out my friends, but I was really excited. It was tiny, though, so I'm assuming it was young. Love the video. :)
I get asked this question a lot. I enjoy them all, but I really enjoy watching the antics of the jumping spider, and I also love the beauty of the orb weaver, the Golden Garden spider, or Argiope. Thanks for asking! Bob
Thank you for sharing your spider story, which is why I truly like these little jumpers, however I do not pit spiders against spiders I just watch what happens in the wild. That's plenty of excitement for me!
i love these.. they are so intelligent...i found one building a nest in a dodgy location and when i told her it was dangerous there, she very politely listened then left the area without my having to shoo her off or catch her ..and even more recently i got the chance to see one catch a wasp :) absolutely amazing species!
Hi MM, thx for watching and leaving me a comment. As much as I am a "dog lover" I would suggest they move and catch their prey more like a cat! Stalk and pounce on, like a cat after a mouse...but YES, as cute as a puppy dog! lol.
Very cool video, by the way. :)
***** Cool! I'd like to see it if you do that.
Thanks. :)

great jail pets :)
I'm embarrassingly afraid of spiders...except the jumping spider. They're so damn cute! Why can't all spiders be as cute as jumping spiders?!
I think tarantulas are cute lol.. They are furry
Australian spiders be like "see this house, yeah it's mine now"
Ink that's a LOT of creatures in Australia.
I liked them until this exact bastard crawled in my fucking ear.
Because they are insects from hell and beyond
I love how they got comfortable with each other at the end.
inSpihr Yes, but they will keep a close eye on each other so as not to become a potential meal! lol
damn looks like they're teleporting , so fast
A glass jar with a breathable lid should do nicely. They will only eat live prey, like flies, etc. They do not make a web to catch prey but they will build a little web-nest to sleep in at night and they will usually build it near the top of the jar. A few sticks to climb on might be helpful. Keep it clean; take out dried out carcasses and provide a fine water spray once a day. They need to drink just like we do.

I was sitting out on my porch in the sun weeks ago and there was one that found its way to me and kept coming back after I knocked it down...i will say it was a cute spider, and was not scared of me at all.....
Dont sit on the porch sit on my face. Dont knock it down suck it down 😃
Jumping spiders are so cute
I agree!
ikr! SO ADORABLE! THEY WEAR WATER DROPLETS AS HATS!
+Jade Jade you saw that meme too?

Yep.
TorrenOglethorpe this is the daring jumping spider, or bold jumping spider
Great camera shots of them crawling and jumping! Loved this video. Such cute faces.
Glad you enjoyed it Dixie...the music is a bit over-the-edge!
Awww I didn't know they were THIS TINY!Super cute!

Spent so many hours as a kid studying these they're just fascinating to watch.
Now I have my grandkids interested in them.
I forgot how fast they jump! AAAH! So cute!
+Cathy24601 Faster than I can sometimes catch on camera!
saw a jumping spider in my apartment, thought it looked very cute. was much smaller than these variety though. a bit mottled grey and black. haven't seen him since
Be on the lookout he'll probably be back!
it's called a Gray Wall Jumping Spider I have one and mine is a girl
I didn't know that this kind of spider exists until I found one on my car the other day. What a cute, smart and friendly spider! He's very curious and follows me around the garage now. He's a little bigger than the ones in this video.
NICE! Thx for your spider story...
that spiders like totally saying "come at me bro!"
I see these little cuties in my house. they are pretty sweet actually they don't jump or bite any of us
Nor would I ever expect them to. They are an awesome spider and soooo curious!
I caught one yesterday, he/she is tan and black, i put him/her in a big fish tank, put some sand and rocks in it, and a bunch of bark, etc. He/she has already made a house under one of the pieces of bark, and i think that it killed a fly that i put in. Fun little spiders to watch.
Glad ur enjoying ur new jumping spider! Thx for sharing ur spider story with me.
Hey thx for leaving me a spider story! luv it. Jumpers are one of my favorite spiders to interact with.
At 7:10 I was hoping for a little jumping spider jiu-jitsu. Lol
I love these!!!!! They are so cute!!!!!!! My brother's jumping spider is staying with me and I play with him all the time. He watched videos with me. I love him so much!
Now that's the best spider story I heard today!!! Thx...
"Look hooman, I doos spooder-foo!"
this is better than american primetime tv, and deserves the same exposure and budget. very informative, funny, endearing.
we have one in our mailbox i got some great photos of her today she is a bit chubbier then these lil guys. and is sooooo cute, she runs out and rares up because she has eggs n the back of the box. i only hope the mail lady does not crush her putting in mail. i may try to relocate her to the side of the hosue somewhere we have a few spots she might enjoy as well as the mailbox. its been a nice big place for her to run around. looooove these lil guys and gals.. so beautiful
:-) her big metalic mouthpieces are quite spectacular to observe and she is so attentive, looking up at me from the mailbox lid... one of the joys of my day is seeing her when i check mail. .
When her eggs hatch (25-30 days) you can expect around 150 spiderlings!
Ahh I think these little guys are so fricken cute. My friend is terrified of spiders while I'm just sitting here calling them cute. The way they move is really cool too :)
I'm with you!
+ct92404 Like a mosquito bite.
Nice arrangement which makes it very hard to sneak up on one from behind, unless they are zoned out! lol
I love spiders so much!! Jumping spiders are the best, but other girls think I'm weird lol
I have taught a classroom full of little girls to love them. Glad we aren't alone. 😍 🕷
My 7-year-old girl loves spiders, we have a bold jumping spider named Whiskey, and he is the best.
I love these guys. I find `em on our window screens, we always have a chat.....
Chatting over the web huh, lol.
I've had one stand me off! lifting his body up, and, extending his front legs up in the air...crazy
Haha, he showed you his defensive posture!
No, nothing at all...you've just experienced being up-close and personal with a jumping spider! It can be a fun experience...as you have discovered!
yeah, be afraid !!!!
...Of fallin' in love !!!
lol
These guys are like the puppy dogs of arachnids =) I played with some wild ones over the summer, and they're really smart, playful and affectionate! The one I found at the park was playing a jumping/web-shooting game with me, and if I put my hand out to jump he would jump on me and liked to chill. I totally brought that guy back home to garden, we became friends, haha :-p They're so happy and adorable!
Just watched this w my 5yo. Tops!
Leapin' Lizards, jumping spiders are nifty!
Faye Dancing Cloud Hey thanks so much...hope your 5yo enjoyed it and please come back and watch some more!
and your child will probably not fear spiders . A+ parenting !!!
: )
I don't know which species of jumping spiders I keep seeing in my room but those suckers run hella fast ! ! ! 😨😨
Almost thought it might be something else until I kept seeing them!
Yes, they can move when they want to!
Are you still looking for jumping spiders?
just caught 4 different jumpers today and am becoming very invested and involved in them and I love it
Nice Jackson, glad you had a chance to find them; thx for sharing your spider story with me! Finding four different types in one day is impressive!!!
You can keep them as pets lol
Nice! I do the same from time to time and find it very amusing!
***** Pedipalps
I LOVE SPIDERS AND SNAKES PYTHONS AND TARANTULAS ARE MY DREAM PETS (and to believe im a girl) I FIND JUMOING SPIDERS THE CUTEST SPIDERS EVER!!!
kia gaming Nice...we need more females in the hobby!
I love all those too!! I like all kinds of bugs and insects, reptiles and amphibians, arachnids and myriapods. They're all fascinating creatures! And jumping spiders are just plain adorable!! 😛😄
That was the greatest video I've ever seen!! I loved it. I love jumping spiders!! Thank you 😄🕷
WOW! That's a nice comment to get. I didn't feel this was one of my best works, but I'll take it! Thx...
What states do they live in
+Zachary Christos The Phiddipus As are found all over the US, as are many other species that are mostly found in certain states based on the weather and heat index.
thank you.
i wonder what jumping spider species is in finland
LightBlue 570s basically the entire continental U.S.
Just brought one of these guys home on a tomato plant I purchased at tg e farmer's market. I live in Washington state
Hard to say...they can live for a couple years in the wild, and with good care around 2-3 yrs. in captivity. At least this has been my experience.
SO SMALL SO CUTE
I found three of these in two days at my house, zebra jumping spider, tan jumping spider, and another zebra jumping spider... jumpings spiders are so cute
6:10 Spider: *ninjamode* cmere i fight yo
Amazing! It's so nice to find out someone else shares my opinion about the daring jumping spider. They are truly the most fascinating, and curious of all the spiders/insects. I can't help but play with one when I see them crawling around.
@BobTheSpiderHunter..
THANK U FOR UR GREAT VIDEOS!
😁
Can u or ANYBODY KNOWLEDGABLE please help answer...
* (1) WILL JUMPING SPIDERS HUNT & KILL VERY SMALL
BUGS/INSECTS LIKE
(FUNGUS GNATS, THRIPS, APHIDS,
WHITE FLIES & FLEAS)??
* (2) ALSO.. WILL THEY KILL EACHOTHER?.. LIKE IF I HAVE 1 I FOUND, THEN A WEEK LATER I FIND ANOTHER 1..
* (3) DO I KEEP THEM SEPERATED AT ALL TIMES?
* (4) LASTLY, WILL ANY TYPE OF JUMPING SPIDER EVER
(BITE US HUMANS)?..
ANYBODY KNOWLEDGABLE PLEASE REPLY SOON.
You can put the Tan jumping spiders together but not the Phidippus audax; they will try to eat each other, or at least the larger going after the smaller!
If you haven't found part 1 yet, here's the link: ua-cam.com/video/WggKqvZUEpU/v-deo.html
They are the most adorable spiders I have ever seen. I've seen a couple in my backyard. They are so cute.
You and me both...but I tend to like all spiders, but not all Aranchnids, such as ticks and mites!
Bob TheSpiderHunter ticks and mites can go to hell! All they do is cause harm ugh!
It's one of the films I have watched, way too many times! My other two favorites are "Fried Green Tomatoes" and "Sand by Me." Have a great day my friend!
These jumpers are my favorites too! Thanks for sharing your spider story with me.
Nice, thanks for sharing you love of insects/spiders with me! And yes, the jumping spider doesn't always bring home the "bacon"! lol
LOL Thanks for watching,
Bob
LOL,
Take care and God bless you as well over there in Wisconsin. Have a great weekend.
Bob
Looooove love loove jumping spiderz! I admit im a lil obsessed... quite fond of the orn weaver as well, or at least the one in my room over the winter. She was freakishly intelligent and so in tune with our family. 😮
orb*
Awesome, thx for sharing your spider story with me!
Thanks for sharing your story with us! I don't know of a more curious spider than the jumper, Bob
Thanks for sharing your spider story, and glad you had a good experience with one of these curious and fascinating jumpers!
These spiders enjoy interacting with us, but they quickly get bored with it all and move on to other adventures! lol.
Bob TheSpiderHunter haha very true! They’re so fascinating.
Great video. I've seen these same jumping spiders around from time to time here in Wisconsin.
LOL
Bob
I came to this video because a jumping spider keeps confronting me on my desk. Thanks to this video I now know it's just curious and not threatening. He/she has taken a good look at me (got real close) and is not checking out the random stuff on my desk. Thanks for posting, you put my arachnophobia to rest.
Thanks for sharing your spider story, and glad you had a fun interaction with ther jumper in Italy!
Bob
Great video. I love these spiders. I used to have one living in my garage. It loved apple juice lol. I thought it strange, but now I see it's normal.
This is indeed a fun spider!
Cutest arachnid ever
ha ha i love the smiley face. I live in Michigan and i find these all the time. Very interesting.
Love your videos Bob keep them coming for all of us free time arachnologist
I just saw a jumping spider on my door 10 minutes ago. I gently scooped it up in my hand and took it outside where it jumped off my hand and dangled down to the ground with its web. Jumping spiders are my fave spiders :D!
What is the proper care, feeding, temp range and containment for a temporary jumping spider pet to observe feed and release.... I see you have a ten gallon there outdoors. Thank you for any help or advice. I have loved jumpers since I was a kid....
thank you for answering my question I really love your videos please keep posting
06:10 Jumping spider be like - "Yo, bro, dis my hooman!!! You don't want none of dis!!!"
You are so right! But I have also observed adult jumpers see me coming from 15-20 feet away and run for cover. Their eye sight is simply amazing!
Thanks for sharing. ❤️❤️❤️Jumping spidie!!
Thx for watching!!!!
i love these.. they are so intelligent...i found one building a nest in a dodgy location and when i told her it was dangerous there, she very politely listened then left the area without my having to shoo her off or catch her ..and even more recently i got the chance to see one catch a wasp :) absolutely amazing species!
Jumping spiders are the cutest and coolest.. Like tiny dogs. ❤
Hi MM, thx for watching and leaving me a comment. As much as I am a "dog lover" I would suggest they move and catch their prey more like a cat! Stalk and pounce on, like a cat after a mouse...but YES, as cute as a puppy dog! lol.
Nice, they are a fascinating little creature! One need not fear spiders once they know something about them.
Bob
