Your first hearing reactions are so raw. A couple things. This song came out in 1970. The lead guitarist, Tommi Iommi, had a machining accident when he was 17 and lost the tips of his middle and ring finger. He actually had to find someone to make him special strings for his guitars because he literally played with thimbles on his missing fingertips.
One of my favorite songs. Ozzy is a legend! Oh, and the bat situation.....he thought it was a rubber bat. He was just as shocked as everyone else. RIP lil bat dude 😞
I remember listening to this song back in the 70's for the very first time as I was watching some puffy white clouds pass by and it took me to a place where my imagination took over! Great song!!
Yeah I’m disappointed every time I see someone reacting to this amazing song, using this video. I find the interpretation in this animation actually distracts new listeners from the song.
@@kalamahina7157 Yeah how tf is this video representing the song as if it's an anti-communist song when it's a critique of the capitalist wars all over the world during the era.
I hate reactors in general watching fan-made videos uploaded by some eighth grader in like 2011. If it's not incorrect, comic sans lyrics with cringe over the solos ("and nOw we jsut bask in glory :DD"), it's a random-ass montage with garbage audio so the reactors are just like "I don't really get the video; also it sounds like this could use a remaster."
This song was released in 1970. The band got it's name from a Vincent Price horror movie of the same name. What made them different from other bands is that everyone else was singing about love and being happy. Ozzie Osbourne (lyricist, singer) described their music as being about nightmares, and a reflection of Manchester England, the dirty industrial city they grew up in! They are considered the first heavy metal band!
September 1970. (The 18th I think, but that's requiring a bit much from this old addled mind) 😂😂😂 Sad that nobody in our generation seems to have learned anything. Everyone getting behind this whole Ukraine bullshit, when it was none of our damn business to begin with. Just another reason to start another 20-year war, where the rich get richer and the ukrainians pay the price in blood. I see so many people claim to be anti-war but as soon as they see one happening they jump on the bandwagon cuz it's the latest popular thing to support! It's still a fucking war and it's not okay. Nations rise and fall that is the story of this globe we are all on. The only reason our government got involved in the Ukraine is because of the 20 some biolabs that are in the Ukraine funded by fauci and Friends. They're just trying to save their own asses they don't give a damn about the ukrainians the Russians or us. All they care about are their bank accounts
Awesome reaction, love your videos. Fun fact: all the guitar work was done by Tony Iommi on one guitar and he was left-handed, that’s significant because around the time this song came out, the only other well-known lefty who could play that well was Jimi Hendrix. They are both absolutely icons!!! Keep it up guys, love and respect 💯👊🤘

The guys in the band were kids in WWII Britain. This is what that sounded like in the music and influence. If these dudes made it like a lot of folks say (Heavy Metal), it was a direct product of the impact of war on young artists. Keep diggin in, young men. You’re getting some good stuff out of the channel.
They were actually born right after....grew up playing in bombed out buildings. Birmingham is an industrial town and that had a definite influence on their dark, heavy sound.
@@Milius47 correct! Their sound was inspired by the heavy industry around Birmingham, all the rhythmic thumping presses and other machinery going on. Their love of horror films I believe led to the more theatrical side, wanting to scare people as they enjoyed being scared by the films.
Thing about Black Sabbath, is they were the antitheses to the hippy music movement in their day. Also Ozzy was the only one who had a lot of gear(equipment wise) and a place to play.
Black Sabbath and Ozzie Osbourne? Legendary heavy rock bands of their time and today! These guys were tearing up there's, guys!! Motley Crue was on tour with Ozzy as the supporting act during the ant snorting incident. The reason that it was highlited was that Ozzy was the only musician the Crue met who could out party and out crazy them. Ozzy was notorious on the road with Sabbath and more so when he went solo. I like seeing you guys open up to new music. I gotta say. Back when you guts reacted to Queen I was getting hella mad. Lol. I think now that you guys have opened up more you should go back and listen again. See the difference in your now reaction compared to your then reaction.
Ozzy got his first big stardom with Black Sabbath, a British group which is said to be the god father of Metal. The song War Pigs was basically a political statement towards the way top officials plan wars and yet the people have to suffer the consequences. The video is done much later, but the song itself is referring more toward Hitler and the Holocaust, but was worded perfectly to fit the narrative of any countries people going to fight any war. Its my favorite ant-war song, and still holds true today
Y'all have a great day and enjoy the music,I vaguely remember hearing this a few times as a child. My older siblings played lots of classic rock , y'all enjoy
This is their take on the Viet Nam war and still relevant today with Biden and China. Came out in 1970. Saw them live in 71 most awesome. Check out Queensryche live in Tokyo 1984 with Take Hold of the Flame. Geoff Tate has the most vocal range of anybody.
Yeah not sure what the hell you are talking about with Biden and china. You could have said bush and Iraq, or Cheney and Iraq, or Obama and Iraq, or Hillary and Iraq, or Biden and Iraq. . . All those would fit the military industrial complex theme. Not sure what you mean with Biden and china.
Copyright laws would probably come into effect, if they played it straight through. ASCAP would be pounding on their door with their hand out, otherwise. They’re doing fine as is.

A couple things. This song came out in 1970. The lead guitarist, Tommi Iommi, had a machining accident when he was 17 and lost the tips of his middle and ring finger. He actually had to find someone to make him special strings for his guitars because he literally played with thimbles on his missing fingertips.
You guys have to listen to the lyrics of that song because they are powerful and unfortunately are all still true today
Lyrics by bassplayer!! (Geezer)
This song was made in 1970. Black Sabbath were the godfathers of heavy metal. No one sounded like them at the time.
Glad y'all got introduced to the Godfather of Heavy metal! Nice reaction... Ozzy is the Goat!
This video was made a few years ago. The song was recorded and released in 1970 during the Viet Nam War.
This was released in 1970. And if you really listen to the words it’s so powerful. Maybe you should listen more!✌
Mr Bill Ward on drums!!!!! One of the most underrated drummers ever!
Black Sabbath was the first heavy metal group I ever discovered back in the day. Opened my mind to a whole new set of music
IT came out in the early 70's. It was like our generations protest songs. I always liked Iron Man by Black Sabbath 🙂
Iron was on of my favs too. Scared me as a kid. I love this album. Just cooked to it the other day. 😃🤘
September 1970. (The 18th I think, but that's requiring a bit much from this old addled mind) 😂😂😂
Sad that nobody in our generation seems to have learned anything.
"Fairies Wear Boots" is a Black Sabbath banger for sure 💯
one of those songs that gives me legit chills when i hear the riff
Awesome reaction, love your videos. Fun fact: all the guitar work was done by Tony Iommi on one guitar and he was left-handed, that’s significant because around the time this song came out, the only other well-known lefty who could play that well was Jimi Hendrix. They are both absolutely icons!!! Keep it up guys, love and respect 💯👊🤘
I've watched a shit ton of your videos. The one thing that comes through is how open-minded your approach is and how genuine your reactions are. Videos like this expose the biggest LIE told to us by media and politicians about how different we all are. We are more alike than different! I'm a 44 yo white dude from Canada, and I'd rather spend an afternoon smoking and ripping through old metal and rap videos on UA-cam with you gentlemen than playing hockey 🏒. 😅.
This song is timeless and FANTASTIC. Glad you young men liked it. 💥💥💥👍😎
Listen to the lyrics guys. It tells the whole story. 😁
Rage Against the Machine “Bulls on Parade” and “Killing in the Name of” both political anthems like this one.
War Pigs was originally made in the 70's during the Vietnam war. Black Sabbath is still a significant counter culture band as well as iron maiden who just dropped an album scorching war and greed culture.
This song was out at the end of the Vietnam war. Heavy metal started with this band. Ozzy bit head off a bat a meeting with a record company. Motley crue toured with Ozzy on The Oz festival.
The build up to the final solo is just epic
you guys saw the wrong video. You have to watch the live version from 1970. It is "LIT" !!
i teach history to college freshmen and sophomores, world history. i adore this song. i believe it is an expression of lyric poetry, perhaps one of a handful of the best of the 20th century.
This channel helps put Musical Cultrural War to an end. I love it.
The song was released in 1970, before I was born and I’m old. The visuals are definitely new.
This is a really deep anti-war song. And those beats grab you by the heart, man!
This song hits my heart about how much crap is still going on today....hopefully more humans will continue with love actions as we recreate the world to a good place. 😍😍😍
War pigs was released in 1970, not the 80s. Love your reaction videos!
I feel like if these guys knew this song came out in 1970 they would react differently. Over 50 years ago. Very relevant for the time and ahead of it's time
This isn't an official video, it's a fan generated one, but cool as hell. They're from the 70s and considered the Grandfather of Heavy Metal. The singer went on to have an amazing career. Maybe you've heard of the Legendary Ozzy Osbourne.
Yes my mom too
They were actually born right after....grew up playing in bombed out buildings.
Awesome video I heard this song for the first time 10 years old had older brothers that were rockin Sabbath …. Black Sabbath ROCKS🤘🏼70’s lol
Haha that was awesome! You guys are hilarious, I liked all the talk. You have yourself a new subscriber.
I recommend watching the live version in Paris from the 1970s and analyzing the lyrics, a lot of deep stuff theyre talking about
Black Sabbath is one of the best bands from the 1970s, I saw them in concert and they were very loud and awesome!
The great Bill Ward on drums!!! Dive into the Sabbath Catalog..... So many great songs!
Black Sabbath and Ozzie Osbourne? Legendary heavy rock bands of their time and today! These guys were tearing up there's, guys!! This was relating to the sick, sadness and corruption if wars like VIETNAM, and the War 🐖 Pig leaders who call for that kind of crap, drafting my brothers to fight and die, while they sit there and play war games for power and money while never being personally at risk. Intense lyrics, and video to help tell a story. I love watching you guys, and you are hilarious! You blew this one. Get some real facts, then pay attention so you can give a more pertinent reveiw!!! Luv ya, guys!! Doob (est. 1962) ✌
Don't forget this came out over 40 years ago. Blew my mind when I was a kid.
Y’all should always do lyrics in rock music
Sabbath will never let you down
The live version in Paris is absolutely amazing
Motley Crue was on tour with Ozzy as the supporting act during the ant snorting incident. The reason that it was highlited was that Ozzy was the only musician the Crue met who could out party and out crazy them. Ozzy was notorious on the road with Sabbath and more so when he went solo. Sabbath is undeniably Ozzy's greatest band, I saw them play live during their 1st reunion tour.
During Vietnam war nightly news showed real battles and casualties.this is one of the songs that was a part of the protest against the war - listen to this while watching Vietnam combat films and get a sense of what was going on
Guys you need to go down the Rush rabbit hole! For the greatest drummer of all time. Start out with Tom Sawyer and you will want to hear it all!
Black Sabbath formed in 1968. This song was released in 1970. It’s one of the greatest anti-war protest songs ever written. You guys HAVE TO react to them doing War Pigs LIVE in Paris 1970!
They really should listen closely to the lyrics, they are quite deep and inspirational
Album came out in 1970 actually, during the vietnam war. It'll blow your mind every time you listen to it, the album was a good decade ahead of it's time
Remember,
Tony Iommi (the lead guitarist) had wooden fingertips on his playing hand.
Playing guitar, without even feeling the strings, is nuts.
Aw hell. This the fkg song!! ✊Musically and lyrically. I've got a feeling y'all fin love this.
It's an abhorrence of war. Partly because the wealthy and powerful use the poor like their pawns, in it. Mostly tho, it's just evil.
I like seeing you guys open up to new music. I gotta say. Back when you guts reacted to Queen I was getting hella mad. Lol. I think now that you guys have opened up more you should go back and listen again. See the difference in your now reaction compared to your then reaction.
Deberían reaccionar a la versión Live in Paris, 1970. Energía pura con un Black Sabbath muy joven.
Love this song!! 🔥🔥
This is their take on the Viet Nam war and still relevant today with Biden and China. Came out in 1970. Saw them live in 71 most awesome. Check out Queensryche live in Tokyo 1984 with Take Hold of the Flame. Geoff Tate has the most vocal range of anybody.
Query…….. Biden and china?????
@@EbonyMaw874 , yes....WAR PIGS.
@@EbonyMaw874 Are you living under a rock they are together. They've gotten millions for US favors. Laptop?
You guys are worse than teenage girls, all that talking & stopping…😂..live show, this song, you gotta be there to feel that energy!!!
Copyright laws would probably come into effect, if they played it straight through. ASCAP would be pounding on their door with their hand out, otherwise. They’re doing fine as is.
@@douglydooright4580 still, they can get away w it w less stopping
Agreed, Cass
57 and I grew up on this music! Smoked pounds and pounds of weed and drank gallons and gallons of beer at kegger parties listing to Black Sabbath......Surprised I am still alive! lol!
Hey Carnales nice to see my brothers from another mother enjoy Metal Music black and Brown Hermanos por Siempre
Talking about corruption the government War for money, and the people who really pay
