Mate, I’m really impressed with your approach. I’m pretty familiar with DAWs and atleast playing music. So these videos are basic for me (not being big headed), but I’m really enjoying the back to basics approach and your style. Great job Man.
Hi, your videos are cool but I would like to give you a tip regarding ramp up velocity in snare built-up. what you can do is, if you click pencil tool a drop down menu will pop up, in there the last tool called transform it is used to select and modify the whole velocity as your wish, you don't have to manually do it. hope this helps you.
The best explanation of all and easiest way it is true. I hate when some people just talking and showing all kinds of crazy stuff, but still you don't get it. There are many ways to do drums, but this way is the easiest one and the best one from there you can do all other things as well
I have an issue where if I track a simple bass line on 1 track and a simple melody with a synth on another track, the bass plays fine but the synth track plays a little blip of each note but not the full note. Any idea why?
Say Chris thanks a million for parting your knowledge and time on myself and many. Your tut is great my brother! Soooo here’s my question… do you know how to make a hiphop BOOM BAP BEAT in Studio One 6 bro??? I the UA-cam page of Barrows & Sun show how to do it on an mpc unit but how do I accomplish this style in Studio One 6.5 Pro Chris!?? I keep trying but it doesn’t sound promising like the video I mentioned above! Be super glad if you do know how!!! Thanks for all your help brother.!!
🤔 What audio interface are you using? Also, do you have the blue speaker icon enabled for your track? There’s many possible things it could be.. if you’re not getting a good signal make sure the gain is up and perhaps swap out your mic cable.. if you open the Mix window in S1 can you see any activity within the input metering? We’ll figure it out! 😅
Okay I’ve had that one before.. the “MIX” knob on the front should be all the way to the left when you are setting your gain and checking levels. You should be able to hear the mic in your headphones that way. Download Universal Control from Presonus if you’re still having problems.. sometimes your USB cable might need to be swapped. I believe they recommend cables less than 4 ft? If you bought the interface secondhand it could be a busted unit.. channel 3 on my Saffire Pro 40 interface has a noticeable difference in level compared to the other channels. Let me know if you have any luck!
@@heychrisgreen I bought the audio interface new. Mix knob everything is good. Blue speaker icon is also on, lights blue. Gain level also good. But no output.
Hope you enjoy the videos! Hit LIKE & SUBSCRIBE for more like this 😁

Great point! I don’t do a whole lot of snare build up but I will definitely keep the pencil tool in mind for next time! 😁
