More contents like this . God bless you from Nigeria
Even the noise floor that all the internet complains about is NOTHING compared to the one I get from my M audio Fast track pro combined with my Berhinger C1
Does studio one have a splitting tool for stems to separate instruments or remove vocals
How do you reduce a measure at the end of a verse, to 2 beats? My recording, from that point on, shows measures that are 2 beats off from where I want them to be.
The best Daw is Reaper best cpu and can use 32 bit plugins literally any plugin always updates you can do anything you want and having fun doing it.
This SBJ sweetener, where can I find that one for the Peterson Stroboclip HD?
Great Video. I'm ready to get the Audiobox 96. I already have midi files I've written over the years and preformed live, opening for over 200+ national acts. I'm getting ready to retire and have had requests to create a CD of fans favorites. Problem is I've been using Cakewalk Pro 9 on my old Dell with XP and cannot or want to try and to partition my MacBook Pro M2. So what I am going to do is get the 96 with the included software (because GarageBand doesn't produce GM or Roland midi accurately) and install on my MacBook. Now my question. Can I load the midi file (song) into Studio one and create a new audio track and save as finished product? Thanks
Sounds great! I don’t want to lead you astray because I don’t do much midi especially from one DAW to another. I always bounce my midi tracks to audio (several ways to do this is studio one) I just went digging in the forums and here’s what I found… “Studio One should open up a .mid file saved from Cakewalk just fine with all of the original MIDI tracks intact. But you would still need to manually assign all of your instruments and presets.” forums.presonus.com/viewtopic.php?t=31512&p=181210 Hope that helps! I think you’ll be pleased with the S1 workflow. Like was mentioned, assigning the midi tracks/instruments might take some work but that will depend on how elaborate your sessions are
Why would you not do it ?
Singing with an SM57 may require a bit different of a technique, but are my favorite live vocal mics, especially in a full band scenario, and especially for male vocalists. Also, they sound fantastic on acoustic guitars.
Very informative demo. Easy to understand. Nice guidance to take recording to the next level.

Nice Video bro 🎉
Thank you Chris....Best regards from Belgium...
Don't worry, it's been a thing in the 19th century and early 20th
Great as always Chris! Your job is amazing. Keep going on! 👏🏽👏🏽
Only daw id use over studio one isn’t on windows and that’s logic both my favorite I use logic on my MacBook but my pc has a better and quicker workflow I wish we had a better look for studio one
The best DAW is PreSonus Studio One
Couldn’t have said it better myself 😁

Dude this is really the video im looking for. Thank you so much! Great video!
SBJ sounds great on an acoustic guitar.. JT tunes it that way because he uses a capo a lot and the string thickness varies more on an acoustic guitar than an electric guitar.
Thank you for your tutorials. Best on UA-cam by far. 🩵
you are too shy to say "Like & subscribe" that was funny anyway <3

love the way you think and demonstrate. <3 <3

This is a very illustrating video for those who like me, an amateur, want to build a DECENT home studio without wasting money buying the cheapest garbage. Thanks a lot Chris!
Just discovered your channel yesterday (PreSonus drum recording video), and your videos have already helped me in less than 24 hours… thanks for the great content!
Hey what PC would you recommend for recording/mixing?
Great question! You’d be surprised at how efficient computers are at audio production. I built my pc in 2015 with an i7 processor and 32gb of ram. I would highly recommend any PC with an i7 and 32gb of ram. If you use virtual instruments and electronic music you will want these for sure. Everything else is just for fun.. you don’t need a crazy graphics card or screen.. the premade pcs are convenient but if you have a tech friend to help you, it really isn’t a bad process to build your own.. you’ll spend $500 for a pc that would cost you $1200 easy For work I had a Dell laptop. It was their XPS series. Just check the RAM and processor. SSD internal drives are also great and should be standard now. I hope that helps! Wish I could recommend more specific models I just havnt had any need for new pcs lately
@@heychrisgreen Oh wow okay thank you! What do you use for storage on your PC?
@@user-mf3mv9yx3b I have 2 Samsung SSDs that are the $80 black ones (very basic internal) and I have one Samsung NVME drive that I use as my main internal disk. Most are 500gb, I have one 1TB Ssd as well. Starting out, have your best storage drive set up for your operating system (windows) then have a second internal drive just for virtual instrument libraries like Superior Drummer and Native Instrument packs My desktop case is one made for being as quiet as possible. It still makes noise but it has a thicker padded case than normal.. I think it’s literally called “Be Quiet”. It’s all black and no see through or glass
@@heychrisgreen thank you so much Chris! I really appreciate all the videos you’ve been making useing studio one. My parents got it for me years ago but I’ve just recently been able to start learning how to use it, and your videos have been extremely helpful to guide me through it! Thank you again bro! I really appreciate you!
It's an interesting video. However, the cloudlifter isn’t suitable for condenser mics, like I use. Even if it was, all that is really achieved is moving some of the pre-amplification from the cheap interface which you already have, to the expensive cloud lifter you have to buy. 🤔
Thanks for the comment! 🙂 I hear you! I would say most audio interfaces less than $500 have a typical noisy preamp. The most affordable route is a cloudlifter. External mic preamps go for $300 on the cheap side, and even the Warm Audio gear is $700+. I’d rather go cloudlifter for $149 than have to start over (if you bought your interface already) I’ve owned the Audiobox, Scarlett, Apollo, iD14, and Behringer interfaces. The less expensive the more noise. (From my experience) The NT2A and TLM 103 condensers I have and use, don’t have to use as much gain to get a similar level as the dynamic mics. Which is why you don’t really see cloudlifter tools for condenser mics, they’re just more sensitive. I only use the Cloudlifter with my SM7B, the other mics I find to be plenty clean IF I set my gain levels properly
@heychrisgreen I'm not suffering too much from noise. I do sometimes use a dynamic mic connected to an original Scarlett 2i2, and also mainly dynamic mics connected to a Tascam DR-60d mk2. In both cases I find the easiest way to rid rid of noise is via the noise reduction facility in Audacity. I'm not doing any live audio, so I always have the option to post process. Thanks 👍 😀
how do you blend the direct acoustic with mic?

Terrific Job mate. i'm just having fun on studio one and you guy helped me a lot!
When you're adding a limiter, do you change the threshold from -3.0, or do you leave it at -3.0?
Was a very helpful video. Kudos to you. And just liked and subscribed the channel after listening to your subscriber appeal song😅😅...
Thank you! It all makes so much sense now😆 Game changer for me! 💯
I'm just starting out Thank you For this video

Thank you Chris. I learned so much, so fast from this video. Just from this one video, I think I'm ready to open my studio for professional recording. LOL!
dude if i were you, i would change some things there: (try out if you want) - Personally i would go for a more narrow speaker width so you can be as close to the window as possible, since the high freq are more directinal, you not gonna have a problem there. (bass probably goona leak form the window to the outside, since its more omnidirectional) -put the table as close to the window as possible as well, so you can make a good equilateral triangle with the speakers, and being between on the first third of the room, you dont want to be in the middle is this case (length wise of course, usually theres a dip in the center, and keep centered on the width for the stereo effect.) -treat the first reflections (closer to the speackers, usually between you and the monitors, with taller panels, 4x2, on the sides and ceiling, use at least 4 inch insulation with some airgap, no bigger than the thickness of the panel you install. -on the back corner to your right (facing the window) add bass trap (or instead of using 4 on the front wall, split them through the avaible dihedral corners, Wall/wall or wall /cceiling), with me midle of the poanel being tweeter height/ear level. - do a panel you can move, on a stand for example, so you can use as bass trap when the door is closed. ultimately would be better to choose only one doorr, if possible ofc - run the sonarworks calibration again, probably gonna be more balanced this aint gonna fix everything ofc, but will probably make more sense that what you got there now. after this keep improving wathever you fell you need more in the room. note: i'm not a profeessional acoustician or engineer, but i went down this rabbit hole and was the most consensous tips:
Thank you Chris, I sing, and am in an untreated room and have today just switched from a SM7B to a condenser...I was looking at the Halo and after watching/hearing your video, I shall be buying one ASAP!
Actually I love ur vids I’m the only one inspired because my dad is a voice recorder

i may have missed it but what made you use a UAD vca compressor and a fabfilter over the the equivilent in studio one?
Just personal preference! The UAD stuff is trying to emulate analog gear so I think of those plugins as “vibe” or “color” while the stock plugins are more utility.. Fat Channel from Presonus has emulations of LA2A, 1176, etc but I prefer the UAD plugins over that. FabFilter is also utility and I use it often because the visual feedback you get with their compressor and eq Over the 9 videos of us making this song you’ll see me using Presonus eq, room reverb, etc.. but toward the mixing stage of things I’m looking to add some excitement so I’ll go for 3rd party plugins
Thanks for watching! If you're interested in how we got to this point in recording the song, check out episodes 1 through 9 of Making Music Live! ua-cam.com/users/liveiFrUohTcMbM?si=KY59xtVpBwF832BD
Speaking of "entire mix", where are some of your mixes that we can listen to?
