I used to record on a 4 track cassette, and then an 8 track digital. The jump to DAW was a very steep learning curve, but well worth the journey. This video is an excellent place to start. I haven't found any DAWs that I could just open up and go, without considerable time viewing instructional videos. Thanks for lending me some of your experience and wisdom. I m using StudioOne 7 some days now ( over 20 hours ) and I can say that it's in the right direction. Excellent visibility improvements, that is number 1, because you use it every day. Also deep flight 2 is awesome. Generally I' m happy about the improvements, 3 months ago I was thinking of switching to cubase, not any more.
Switching DAWs can be exciting but there’s a downside to the learning curve.. I’m trying to make the Launcher tool work but looks like I need to read the manual 😅 Deep Flight has some cool sounds, I never had access to Architect so that one is new to me as well. Glad you like the update 👍
I upgraded from studio one artist and it took me to version 6.6. Do you happen to know if I need to upgrade? I know there’s info but seems vague to me. Tells me I have to pay another $149 for 7. Downloaded upon their recommendation email. No worries if you don’t know. Just a little frustrated.
@@salshouseproductions from the announcement video it says that you have to buy perpetual licence of StudioOnepro7 for 149.99 usd. This is true for any previous version of StudioOne as well as from StudioOne Artist owners.
We are pro tools and ableton users very interested in switching over - had a question if my brother and I get studio one can we collaborate on a session with a single license? We work in the same studio room on each of our laptops so we would just like to both add things to the same session we’re both collaborating on. Thanks for any advice on this ya might have!
How to you make it to start recording a guitar track at certain point of timeline. Without having if start from the beginning? If I click on the part of the timeline I want it still jumps to the start
Honestly, I can’t imagine how I might end up using the clip launcher at the moment 🤔 I will make a video where I can take a look at the ins and outs of it. I have Ableton Live but havnt had any need of what it offers in a while. All my music is acoustic, drums, and vocals mostly.. hardly any need for loops at the moment but I’ll take a gander and perhaps change my mind 😅
I chose not to upgrade, there are so many features that I wouldn’t use that I couldn’t justify spending the money. It’s too expensive even to upgrade in Australia being $221 AUD
Probably a good call at this point.. it’s hard to think of features that would compel many of us to upgrade.. without my UA-cam channel’s focus on S1 videos I probably would have stayed with 6 for now
