After living my whole life wondering why I was "different" or " too sensitive" I recently discovered that I am a HSP. Thus I am researching all the ways I can integrate holistic methods into my life to help me cope with these feelings. Thanks for this video. Very helpful, as well as your video on addictions which helped me realize that I am yin deficient. I am a retired healer and have struggled throughout my life and career while helping others yet not able to fully heal my own issues. Understanding what it is to be a highly sensitive person has opened up a whole new perspective for me to help understand myself and why I respond the way I do to my outer world. I recently found your channel as I have been practicing Qigong for a while now and was researching different methods. Thank you for your clear and interesting style of teaching. I also love the older videos you made with the recipes! Many blessings....Sage 🌿
I have always been very sensitive when i walk into a room filled with people and i found it very stressful. This made me an introverted person. So clearly my Maai has been always been far to big! So happy to discover away to clear it. Thank you you are really helping us all!
Thank you for this simple and generous qigong lesson. I deal with anxiety daily, from mild to sometimes debilitating, and I’m grateful for anything that helps alleviate that. I feel better today for having learned this. Thank you again! ☮️☯️
I really like the way you start your videos telling what you're going to do and then briefly explaining who you are and what you do. Better than boring people with a big long introduction about what you do and why you do it. One feels that the information given is really valuable and beneficial for our health. Thank you so much 😊
dearest Jeffrey to move and ease away tension is simply heavenly ,being sensitive is not easy however Qigong helps to restore the feeling of peace....... always grateful ..........blessings and light .......
I love the explanation of that sort of like, energy field. It has always felt like I am constantly taking on everyone else’s energy and I get so burnt out and overstimulated.
You're very welcome! There is hope if you have been sensitive to other people's energy. I find that people who are drawn to qigong experience this quite often. It really is a skill that you can improve over time!
Christina Köfer Check out the book “The Highly Sensitive Person” by Elaine N. Aron subtitled, How To Thrive When The World Overwhelms You I found it very helpful and reassuring to learn that this is a trait of many people, and it’s found in other species, too
I am a highly sensitive person and empath. I have been doing energy work for over 10 years but just started doing QiGong. Your videos are so great, thank you Jeffrey!
This is where I am at , have had a virtual total physical collapse from all the energies in the groups and places I go to for company to socialise and learn. My body just wont work any more so I have to stay at home eating well and resting and even the program has seemed to give me too much energy which I find difficult to use for my needs as I feel I have be out there ‘doing’ things for my communities who actually exclude me from special outings whilst one Community Manager having left me out of several events emailed me to demand I return to the group as they needed my energy which I felt was a big warning as when I did attend groups they were not very nice. I thought maybe as I am now 78 yrs it is too strong for me however I am so pleased you have explained what is going on in my body so that I can stay in the world and enjoy it too. Thank you for picking up on this dilemma as it really applies to me and my life to date. From diana watkins in the Qi Gong community.
Hello. Just wanted to say thank you so much for your amazing routines that have helped me to get my life back on track. I now feel happiness, joy, vitality and peaceful. My pain is slowly going has a practice different routines each day. Thank you again and keep up your amazing work. Have a great day.
Hello Jack, I just tried the qigong for sensitivities and anxiety. I just finished my studies and this exercise help me relax and get the kinks out from sitting at the computer for hours. Thank you so much
Thanks for the great videos. I have been a gigong practictioner for 20 years. You do a great job. Most don't give an idea of the energetic aspects which are essential for gigong.
This exercise will help the body and mind desensitize and heal so we stop being hyper vigilant and more in the moment not noticing to many details that makes us anxious like over analyzing other people's behaviors in public places etc...And if it's a different exercise that can retrain the brain to less hyper sensible can you teach us please. Thank you 🙏❤
You described me perfectly, completely over aware of everything around me, you explained this really well and it was soothing, you almost looked like you went into your own trance. I very much enjoyed. Thank you. I'd really like one for mood swings and lack of energy and bouts of low confidence and motivation which seems to be bothering me atm.
I'm glad the description resonated with you :) I'm not sure if I was in a "trance" it was more of an active meditation, or state of mindfulness. Everyone can experience it, it is wonderful!
Wow thank you! I am so sensitive I have had to quit watching the news or listening to anyone talking about things because it hurts so bad I cry. Never thought qigong could help me with this. Thank you. I’ll let you know my progress. Peace
Absolutely! The news has been causing people stress and overwhelm for a lot of people. It is not just recently, it has been a problem for quite a few years. Part of the problem is how visually overstimulating TV news can be with images, words flashing, and special effects. Our human brains aren't used to all of that! Let me know how qigong helps your sensitivity, I am sure it will!🙂
This was something that I needed to hear. I have been feeling overwhelmed by things going on with people around me. This short video was very calming and relaxing.
A very interesting concept with is align with the therory about trauma. Practising the "Playing with Water" was wonderful so I hardly could stop. I felt really relaxed. I will encorporate this in my coaching because a lot of my coachees have problems maintaining their space. Thank you so much. You are doing great work! Be blessed!
Oh thank you so much!!! It's my "MY" that creates the anxiety I feel on a daily basis! I've never been able to understand it till now. This explains so much. Thank you for your videos. I took Qigong training years ago but stopped. I'm glad I found you channel because it's inspired me to start up my practice again. I feel amazing when I practice😆
Playing with water. Thank you for sharing your beautiful videos. You are so full of light. Qigong is really helpful in this time. I’m experiencing extreme anxiety like never before. It’s helpful to concentrate on just my space for a bit. So worried about the news and the truth and the politics that skew the truth. All Is Well❤️peace and love to you.
Yes, it's an excellent exercise! It's a great idea to connect with your own space. When we do, suddenly the 'noise' around us starts to settle 🙂 Thank you for your kind words!
Thank you for the video. I watched it and performed it twice in a row. I felt so much better. I can feel my maai extending too far and as of recently it seems due to stress, it is not as easy to bring myself back. Spread super thin using way too much energy. I have to talk myself through some recently developed social anxiety.
That's great that you listened to your instinct and practiced! That's great that you are aware of your maai - it is beneficial during practice and everyday life!
Hello Jeff, Since COVID 19 with all the extra time I've been having, I have been watching your qigong videos daily. Thank you so much for your beautiful healing work. I also really appreciate many of your videos in nature. I definitely feel more focused, calm, and in tune with my body than I've ever been before. Also, I subscribed to Qigong for Vitality but am not able to access all of your qigong videos. Is there something else I should be doing to get the free 7 day trial to watch all your videos? Thank you and have a wonderful day!
That’s a good summation of being a highly sensitive person. There’s an excellent book on it, “The Highly Sensitive Person” (How To Thrive When The World Overwhelms You) by Elaine N. Aron
Hi Jeff. You are doing such a good service to people like me. Yep, I’m a highly sensitive person that is also an introvert. Maybe introvert because I’m highly sensitive. Keep up the great work and I look forward to doing Qi Gong daily now! BC here :)
That's great! Osmosis Qigong :) Actually, that's quite common, we have "mirror neurons" that react to what we see. So if you see someone relaxing and breathing, your body reacts as if you are doing it. Thanks for your comment!
They tell me I have good hearing. I tell them I don’t, my ears ring, I just listen more. This extended maai thing totally sounds right lol heightened awareness..
Thank you for this. I guess I've been a little confused coz on one hand meditation teaches us to be more aware but then also that awareness can mean feeling drained when there's a lot going on around us but I don't want to lose my intuitiveness or psychic abilities. Can you please advise
Thank you for your explanation about the maai. I feel like I have a large maai. Maybe it is good for me to do this exercise before I go and meet other people.
This was very interesting. Maii is a new concept for me, but I have talked about energy sphere with friends in the context of other people occupying your energy sphere and that some people are more sensitive to that than others. So this must be pretty much the same as maii, or..?even though that concept is coming from having space around you when fighting.. I wonder if it is possible to change this energy sphere or if you have to accept it and live with it, and to also see that is has some advantages. In a hunter/gatherer context the group needed some members with big energy spheres as they felt danger more quickly. today that is not filling the same purpose and can of course cause problems not because it is anything wrong (my opinion) but because we have such a weird society. But do you mean that having bigger maai is usually no good...and we can change it?
Thanks for your videos. :) Do you have a video for moving Qi in the colon area or reducing cortisol levels in the body? I recently gained 20+ lbs. I believe the weight came on due to several months of extremely stressful situations. I believe the stress hormone cortisol caused weight because everything else is the same...good healthy home cooked diet free of chemicals and preservatives, and excellent supplements, high pH clean water. I was my ideal weight before the stress hit. I am thinking the energy may be stuck. Do you have any videos to recommend that you made?
WOW man I love qigong, but I think I love you more. This technique is amazing, im someone who picks up on things to the extreme, and im always super anxious. This exercise made me feel like a million bucks. Im relaxed and very present. THANKS for your video! Ah to finish can you recommend me how I should do this exercise? I know theres alot of stuff in qigong as I have done quite a few things from it, but this technique is great. So would you recommend me to do this daily? Like once a day every day? Or is twice a day better? Just looking for your opinion on the jist of this and other tension/anxiety releasing exercises. Ah and when I do the exercise i do feel more centered and literally like my maihii field(or w/e you called it) is smaller/more centered.
Thanks so much! I would suggest practicing once a day to begin with. If you are feeling drawn to practice longer, "deeper" routines that will balance your entire system I would suggest exploring our practices in the Communi Qi. You can read about them here qigongforvitality.vhx.tv/browse We do have a specific program on anxiety. I would definitely encourage you to keep practicing, but also be gentle and balanced with your approach. Take your time and let your body and mind unwind :)

When it’s a video aimed at sensitivies maybe go easy on the sales pitch at the end. Sometimes I watch television without the sound. Then it is just too much: all the fast pictures, talking, music and backgound noises.
That makes sense🙏🏻 thank you for the clarity.
