    Sleep has been recognized as one of the biggest factors that contribute to a weak immune system, diabetes, blood sugar imbalance, heart disease, hormone imbalance, depression, weight gain, stress, and many other health and medical conditions. It has been studied quite significantly in the past few years, and for good reason.
    If you have had issues with sleep, you are not alone. Approximately 1 in 3 people have mild to major sleep challenges. Sleep problems, or insomnia, can manifest as:
    troubles falling asleep
    troubles staying asleep - being light sleeper
    waking too early in the morning
    When considering sleep we need:
    enough hours - between 6-9
    deep enough sleep - where we go through all the different stages of the sleep cycle
    According to Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Qi Gong theory there can be several root reasons for insomnia. Mainly:
    heart imbalance
    liver imbalance
    kidney imbalance
    The most common is the heart imbalance. This can show up as insomnia with a racing mind. You may be ready to go to bed but your mind starts thinking about the “what if’s” and “should have’s” right when your head hits the pillow. People often identify this stress or anxiety that is particularly bad at this time.
    The heart is both an organ and a system according to TCM. When we have insomnia there is usually too much “heart heat.” This routine focuses on cooling the heart heat so that your mind and body can gently unwind.
    Often people will feel as if they can fall sleep much faster after practicing this routine, and they feel as if they have had a deep sleep. A sign of a deep sleep is that you wake up feeling refreshed and rejuvenated independent of the hours you slept for.
    Try practicing this routine daily and as you become more familiar with it, it will become more effective! This and many other Qi Gong routines can be found in the Communi Qi and I warmly invite us to join!

    Thank you very much,my body has bee n in so much pain for years,an never sleeping well ,I njoyed doing this Qi Gong,wishing for the goodnight sleep..😴

    I have been practicing this every night for the last 10 days or so. Also doing Qi Gong in the morning every day. At the end of this routine just now I felt energy flowing down my body with that last exercise and my body tingled and felt warm, still does. Amazing feeling!

    So surprised this actually worked!
    I have ADHD and peri menopausal both affect my sleep
    I fell asleep as soon as I lay down after doing this routine
    Even after doing a few things before bed

    Tonight is my 2nd night doing this. I feel very clear headed, no more scattered, frantic thinking about things I don't need to be worrying about. In the palms of my hands I feel a lot of warmth tonight. I did wake up last night at the usual 1-3am time (liver time) but after some deep dan tien breathing(which I learned from another one of your videos!) I was back asleep within half an hour. usually it takes me hours to fall back asleep if I'm even able to. I will say a bit of lingering pain continues in my chest on the sternum, a bit of tightness. We shall see how things change as I continue this for 2 weeks. Thank you for helping me to go to sleep with a clear head.
    You know what's funny? Doing this exercise tonight made the scent of my perfume fill the room. It's rare that I notice the scent this late in the day. I guess it warmed me up? I feel like it could be possible that something was oozing through my pores forcing the scent molecules into the air. Either way, it smells really good in my room right now!

    Ive got CMV/HPV6/Epstein barre and some odd blood work and weak kidneys. I have horrible insomnia. I’ve been doing this for about a week now, I always sleep more peacefully. In the beginning I would be in bed reading or watching tv and think awe man I’ve got to get up and do my routine. Always happy that I did. The last two days I noticed I didn’t feel like that I felt like it’s beginning to be apart of what I do before bed! The time went by quicker during the session maybe because I know the routine and it was easier to connect my own energy vs listening for ques. In any event these sessions really work! I’ve tried a couple of others and they really improved my mood! I’m going to keep on going with this! Thanks for sharing!

    Oh my God, Dr. Chand. I had such lingering pain in my neck and left shoulder, it was so painful, I have been holding onto to that pain for days. I have done about 5 other exercises with you today some specifically for this pain and whiley they decreased it the didn't eliminate the pain. THIS VIDEO ELIMINATED MY PAIN! I feel warm and soothed and able to breathe DEEP. The way you ended this is so beautiful, gentle and soothing. THANK YOU.

    I've been doing this practice with your guidance outside on my deck overlooking a cove on Lake Norman in NC. Watching the fireflies come out while doing this is magical. They start regularly at 8:30 EDT. Beautiful!😄

    I was told by an acupuncturist that I have "Spleen Chi" deficiency...I have to much Yang heat, but I am tired a lot though I have had years of hardship...I did Qigong a lot years and years and only recently started again...I can still tell and remember the colors of the organs and healing sounds..and trying to lower my excessive thinking energy and anxiety. I have had really bad sleeping patterns for a long time only in the last month has that changed..Glad to see you are still putting out videos. Thank you!

    This has helped me so much and is improving all the time. I still can’t completely blank my mind but it is getting better.My sleep is much better also. I have arthritis quite bad so find difficult for me to stay still through the night but I now know it will get better.

    You have the right voice for relaxing into these movements. And the background of this video also was very relaxing and peaceful. I felt very connected to my breath and the movements helped to re connect with nature, earth, peaceful feelings. I sensed holding clouds that were puffy and that made me inner smile. The repetition of movements also helped my memory of how to do them correctly. I've done them before bed to give a restful sleep. Fingers crossed! Thank you Jeffrey.

    I enjoy trying out your Qi Gong routines, and returning to ones that seem especially useful for me. This one is my new favorite! I like combining the pressure points with movement and breathing. I also like knowing that you are just over there - on the other side of the mountains. and just across the border. Thanks for all that you give.

    I find myself feeling very centred when doing this routine and able to switch off from anything going on around me. Your voice is soothing and calming too.
    One of my favourite routines for sure.

    Wonderful! My eyes are heavy and my body is quiet. Maybe should not have done this so early in the evening, but was feeling a bit stressed about plans tomorrow and this has helped. Hoping I'll be able to sleep well tonight. Definitely plan to do this regularly. Thank you so much!
