I love watching your videos because your commentary feels like a friend whos sending me life updates via instagram voice messages! Sometimes I just wanna hear someone have a yap session! I follow other artists who do similar style videos (commentary over drawing). However, their commentary tends to be "Here's my process step by step", "Artist motivation" or simply silence. If they do talk about life, its related to their life as an artist, how their small business is doing, career, ect. I don't mind hearing that but I think its refreshing to hear someone share non-art small details about their life or opinions about movie stars LOL. I think you do a good job of combining all the above. I also like the speed of your drawing video itself. I watch these while I'm drawing, so I'm not always looking at the screen. Some artists make their footage too fast, or too slow so I have to either go back and rewatch what I missed, or speed it up myself. I think the amt of zooming in on your footage helps too, I can still watch what you're doing from my periphery because the footage is large on my screen. If it was zoomed out more, I wouldn't be able to see it as well. Anyways, lovely yap sesh and sketchbook session as always :) Oh video idea, I would be interested in knowing more about your career as an artist! How you started your shop, manage it, finances, any tips for artists who want to start their own thing. I'm interested in doing something like that in the future so I'd love to hear from your perspective if you ever feel comfortable sharing.

Love your work, makes me want to get to work too. You need a drafting brush, they are super helpful with all the bits of pencil and eraser debris. I have to put a scrap piece of paper under my hand sometimes too.😊
I really liked the voiceover, it gave such a vibe of someone drawing while you’re in the room doing something else. It was so conversational and fun! I think my fave detail was the label on the potion bottle, it really looks like a stylized version of paper that’s aged around the edges and I just love it. I also liked your wyrm-y dragon thing! The few times you really laughed it made me smile because you can tell that you really do enjoy making art and it’s so genuine. I think I’ll definitely make some fall art drawing things when I can! (I also love spn, no judgement here lol)

Something I do to try and help keep myself from smearing pencil or eraser bits is using a brush to swipe it off. I used to use a shaving brush actually. Recently I found a eraser pencil that instead of having lead has eraser in it the end that would normally be the eraser is a brush.
I just got to the swatching of the pencils and good lord I wish I’d seen these before I got the prismacolor colerase they look so soft! And the color palette 😍
You can get a little bulb air blower that’s used for lint on camera lenses to blow off the pencil dust. I am in the habit of blowing on the paper when i draw but then I risk spitting 😂 so I started using a manual air puffer thingie…

I’m not sure how well kneadable erasers work on colored pencils but I love using mine with regular pencil because it doesn’t leave debris to wipe off!! I hate doing the wiping thing too :(
You were mentioning that you wanted a colored pencil that would erase; there is a tombow eraser, that will help. It’s an eraser that is made with like a soft sandpaper but it is an eraser and it truly does such a good job! It does slightly remove some lil paper hairs but if the paper isn’t wet from any other medium it’s amazing and doesn’t change the papers texture.
That palette is killer - so is your style. You make colored pencil work look so good! The Fall/Potter theme was total bonus. Did you say what paper you were using?
When you wipe the bits off the page, do it with a paper towel, or a big fluffy makeup brush. (I commented that just before you said about losing your brush, lol. My bad)
