3:50 You actually can fill things in another layer, you just have to click on the layer you want to fill and then you click “reference” and then you fill inside and it will work! :3
Long time ibisPaint user, as much as I would love brush packs like Procreate has, I just don’t like it that much compared to ibisPaint. The UI for me is confusing and the tools are frustrating. Overall I love seeing works used in Procreate, but I will be an underrated ibisPaint user for a long time.
Ibis paint user since like 2018/2019! You can infact tap with 2 fingers to undo and 3 fingers to redo! I don't use it much personally, but it is there! Also, awesome video!! 🔥 i liked seeing what differences they both have to one another!
3:57 you can colour fill certain layers! you have to set them to be a reference layer. eg. your lineart layer gets set to a reference layer, and then you can fill parts of it under/above.
You can use the bucket tool on a different layer. All you have to do is tap on one your line art layer, and hit reference then go to the bottom layer and BOOM bucket tool works
If you wanna use the bucket tool on one layer for lineart on a different layer, set the lineart layer to be a reference layer by clicking on the layer and selecting reference; Then go on the color layer and drop in your colors (be careful bcs if the lines aren’t touching one another it can spill into different sections). And for the layer limit, the number of pixels on your canvas affects how many layers you can have. What I use and what has been the easiest for me is to go to custom layers and make an 8000x9600 canvas, go into the options (via the wrench icon) and crop until you have around 45 layers (you can revise it to have as many layers as you want but be careful since it can affect how pixel-y your brushes look). If you need any more help I can probably give some tips!
I’m most used to Procreate which is why I use it, I do wish that the animation feature was better and well, not each layer and each layer group per frame. Ive been using it for a few years now so I’m very used to it. The out of bounds thing is to reduce lag along with the layer limit and as someone who has a shitty iPad that is helpful
you can have the bucket tool reference the below layers, you just have to choose that in the layer options itself :) and yes procreate does have the handy little reference window option too
If you make the layer above the one your on a Reference layer, you can still use a version of the bucket tool. Also you can select easily, just press the mouse cursor next to select, you can move the circled area.
I use to use ibis paint for the longest time till I got an iPad, so I know the pain of the brushes on ibis. But you can import new brushes you find online for procreate for free or paid. I honestly would look at some videos for more tips because procreate is such a good program with no ads
I can definitely say Procreate is definitely a learning curve but it's my go to for everything honestly. Ibisipaint X is definitely has it's some pros there's definitely more cons several things that make harder. I had enjoyed the video great work
Ibis paint user here ! I never tought ibis is that good of a program but ive been prooving myself wrong the whole time !! For example, i drew my profile pic :3 The program you use doesnt determine how good your art is !! As for the lil question at the end, i would love seeing a video of aka testing out different free programs!! >:D
As one who uses both I think procreate is the fancier version of Ibis both have their pros and cons but overall if you don’t want to spend money and don’t mind the ads then ibis paint
I would love to try out Procreate but i dont have an ipad, or any apple products bc i dont want one. Ibispaint had worked really well for me! I used the free version for about 2 years before switching to premium and IT IS SO WORTH IT (but non premium is fine too, very good for a free art program :>)
As I used to draw on Ibis Paint, I’m honestly turning into a Procreate user. I like the UI on Procreate more than Ibis Paint because it’s overwhelming for me 😂AND you have to watch ADS to unlock the brushes?!?! Like nnnoooo!! At least Procreate doesn’t require you to watch ADS EVERYTIME you want to use the brushes. My only complaint that it doesn’t have a gradient tool. As someone who likes gradient on their characters I HATE that I have to manually do it every time 😭
I used to draw with Ibis Paint X and have made loads of cool illustrations with it and I really liked it but I when I first heard of Procreate long before I started making the cool illustrations I did in Ibis I wanted to use that app but at the time I couldn't get it use I just used Ibis to draw but now I've gotten Procreate a few months ago and once I got it O was SO HAPPY and after drawing test some doodles with it I've fully switched to Procreate to draw ever since.
Oh with the bucket tool you can just klick and hold the colour in the top right of the screen and drop it into any closed shape that is on your layer. But it is very picky at what is a “closed” shape.
i think that ibis paint is an app that doesn't scare new artists away, so many people get more attached to it,(i'm one lmao) so yes, i'm a ibis paint stan✊✊✊✊✊
my biggest pro about ibis was how you could press the online button and find brushes easily and all that good stuff. procreate might have it but im still new to it so i have no idea and every video i watch no one talks about it 😅
personally i prefer to use procreate as imo its a little more organized and theres no pop ups or ads but if you dont have 10 usd to spend on an app i would recommend ibispaint for sure
3:30 nah tbh the selection tool is rlly good i think u just dont know how to use it properly 😭 ive been using procreate for a year now and i only had issues w it at the start
Your videos are always so helpful! This video also helped me out a lot on whether to switch to procreate or stay with ibis! I was also wondering if you could do a video on basic face anatomy because I kind of have trouble with that :(
Personally I’ve had no problem with the selection tool, you can color drop on separate layers by clicking your lineart layer and hitting ‘reference.’ Procreate has a brush history, decent effects and you can add a reference box :) I’ve been using procreate for several years and personally it’s been 100% worth the 10$ that my sister payed for it.
honestly, i just use both interchangeably--i like how procreate blends more but with ibis lasso tool, filters, and just general freedoms with user interface and brushes i prefer to use ibis more
3:49 make the outline a reference layer. The thing is if it’s a reference layer you have to switch it back to colour the lines on your current layer if that makes sense
Ngl I asked for an ipad for years so I could use procreate but once I finally did, it was lowkey so bad for me 😭 I wanted to like it but just the way the brushes work on there isn’t for me, its hard to explain but I just don’t like how it feels? Its an amazing app don’t get me wrong & when I’m able to use it I do have fun but man I will always stay loyal to ibispaint for real,,, been using it since 2016 😭
I love Ibis Paint and this really underated. But Ibisbpaint don't have a fully custom brushers, and have strange precsetive ruler(I just hate it ruler😭) compare with a procreate.
Only thing I really like about procreate is the stabilization for the brushes and I sometimes use it for my line art and put it into ibis after to color since I noticed some blend modes look different to Ibis paint (ex. Overlay) which bugs me. But I still like procreate :3 IBIS PAINT ON TOP THO.
Tbh I'm moving out from Ibis paint and try other apps bcs Ibis paints gets hella laggy depending how big the canvas is. And I want my drawings to be good quality. But tbh it's a great app for begginers especially for people who are new too digital art
I would like see a medibang vs ibispaint vs procreate I just bought procreate but am still getting use to digital art (tried it once for a year then forgot about it) what I would really like to know is which would be best for making manga?
Anyways just for fun, who's your favourite art youtuber? Mine's viyaura, just watched her video an hour ago B)
hmmmm. probably it's you and Layze
hanacue is amazing
You, LAYZE , deb smikle, film cooper, Chad Chad, flamingo, natsume_San a lot more lol…

The lasso tool and the layers r so real it drives me insane..
wait im confused, ibis does have the same finger tap shortcuts
I use ibis paint but 97% of the youtubers i watch don't so it is nice to have someone who dose use it
You can use the bucket tool on a different layer. All you have to do is tap on one your line art layer, and hit reference then go to the bottom layer and BOOM bucket tool works
1:53 i think you can also do that on ibis :3

I personally use ibispaint cuz im too broke for procreate lmao😭😭
Same :/ too bad half of the vfx and that one vector feature in ibis paint are premium tho. It's still a good app lol, expecially for us broke folk
By the way, for Ibis paint, you can also use the double tap, and triple tap shortcut.
Fun fact ibis paint also have shortcuts with fingers for undo and redo (same pattern as procreate)😊
3:46 you can make the layer u wanna fill, like u wanna fillet eh circle, so u press the layer, press “reference” and u can fill
i love the vids. very good .keep it up! 💖and your art is always been so amazing!
Ibis paint is really underrated
WHERES THE IBIS PAINT USERS
HELLO.
HIII
hi pookie
👋
I’m most used to Procreate which is why I use it, I do wish that the animation feature was better and well, not each layer and each layer group per frame. I use Clip Studio Paint and it literally has EVERYTHING you could ever want. there's also secretly a 3d modeling program hidden within it its insane.
YESSSSS
Ibis paint user here !
I never tought ibis is that good of a program but ive been prooving myself wrong the whole time !!
For example, i drew my profile pic :3
The program you use doesnt determine how good your art is !!
As for the lil question at the end, i would love seeing a video of aka testing out different free programs!!

VIYURAAAAAAAAA YAY
I love ur art aka :D
As one who uses both I think procreate is the fancier version of Ibis both have their pros and cons but overall if you don’t want to spend money and don’t mind the ads then ibis paint

DARK MODE NATION UNITEEEEE 😫😫😫😫✊✊✊✊✊
I see just as many ibisPaint users as recreate maybe even more ibisPaint
nah i got a ibis paint add while watching this 💀
Ibis and Krita :)
As I used to draw on Ibis Paint, I’m honestly turning into a Procreate user. I like the UI on Procreate more than Ibis Paint because it’s overwhelming for me 😂AND you have to watch ADS to unlock the brushes?!?! Like nnnoooo!! But it is very picky at what is a “closed” shape.
Pro create on My IPad Costs 99,99 WHY WHY
If you turn your layer on to reference mode you can use the bucket tool on a different layer to fill it
Hope this helps :)
i think that ibis paint is an app that doesn't scare new artists away, so many people get more attached to it,(i'm one lmao) so yes, i'm a ibis paint stan✊✊✊✊✊
I use procreate!
Ibis paint pro is a game changer and is SO cheap! I have zero complaints about ibis paint 👍
my biggest pro about ibis was how you could press the online button and find brushes easily and all that good stuff. procreate might have it but im still new to it so i have no idea and every video i watch no one talks about it 😅
i use procreate but i can also very well use ibispaint
both are great art programs
just personal preference 🤷♀️ (and my love for dark mode :33)
WOOO NEW VIDEO!!
personally i prefer to use procreate as imo its a little more organized and theres no pop ups or ads but if you dont have 10 usd to spend on an app i would recommend ibispaint for sure
i prefer procreate but ibis pain is really good(but i mean i love the lasso tool from ibis paint)
I use IArtbook
3:30 nah tbh the selection tool is rlly good i think u just dont know how to use it properly 😭 ive been using procreate for a year now and i only had issues w it at the start
Your videos are always so helpful! This video also helped me out a lot on whether to switch to procreate or stay with ibis! I was also wondering if you could do a video on basic face anatomy because I kind of have trouble with that :(
I prefer clip studio 💀
LMAO I have procreate but I totally agree😂
Real 1:50
YEAH IBISPAINT RECOGNITION BABYY 🗣🗣🗣. Might try out procreate in the near future ^^
I'm still trying to smoothly yet unsmoothly transition into the digital art world. (keyword: trying)😅
Personally I’ve had no problem with the selection tool, you can color drop on separate layers by clicking your lineart layer and hitting ‘reference.’ Procreate has a brush history, decent effects and you can add a reference box :) I’ve been using procreate for several years and personally it’s been 100% worth the 10$ that my sister payed for it.
ibis gang ALSO QUEEN POSTEDD🎉🎉🎉
WE NEED THE FREE ART PROGRAM REVIEWW
deep down ik procreate is probably worth the money but…
IM BROKE HERE OK??😭
Procreate has some of the pro features.
also if u want the colour to go on a diffrent layer double click your lineart layer press reference and go back to ur normal layer then it works :D
MEDIBANG USERS GATHER HERE🐺
Procreate has a lasso tool just to let you know :)
Procreate.. also if u make the line art layer in procreate reference (click on it then it’s one of the options) then the fill will fill it :>
procreate has brush history and a refferece panel
honestly, i just use both interchangeably--i like how procreate blends more but with ibis lasso tool, filters, and just general freedoms with user interface and brushes i prefer to use ibis more
NEW VID YUMMNYYY
i use medibang❤
blob gang btw❤❤ love ur videos so much!!
The one that you usually use
modded ibispaint is my go to on tablet, if I can't pay for csp for some reason.
Clip Studio Paint 🎨
color tool complaint for procreate is false, you have to set your line art layer to reference to color it in, or drag and hold the color
you lovely individual
Ibis paint my lover 😘🥴🌹💍
Procreate has a recent brushes tab
I do think ibis paint has much more comic tool variety than procreate. I use to use ibispaint just like you.
i use ibis and krita
So use both ✌️✌️(I use procreat for sketching and brushes but ibs paint for blending
3:49 make the outline a reference layer. The thing is if it’s a reference layer you have to switch it back to colour the lines on your current layer if that makes sense
Yayyyy new videooo🎉🎉🎉🎉❤
As a person who uses both they are very good
I use ibis paint fr
Ngl I asked for an ipad for years so I could use procreate but once I finally did, it was lowkey so bad for me 😭 I wanted to like it but just the way the brushes work on there isn’t for me, its hard to explain but I just don’t like how it feels? Its an amazing app don’t get me wrong & when I’m able to use it I do have fun but man I will always stay loyal to ibispaint for real,,, been using it since 2016 😭
as a android owner knowing that procreate is for apple makes me sad
I love Ibis Paint and this really underated. But Ibisbpaint don't have a fully custom brushers, and have strange precsetive ruler(I just hate it ruler😭) compare with a procreate.
I use IbisPaint
Ibis paint 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Aka I adore your lil’ persona because it reminds me of Nikolai Gogol from Bungo Stray Dogs 😭
Can you please make a video about free drawing programms
The biased opinion towards ibis is obvious…
i really like krita, its free and provies lots of different displays and tool and etc. i use it for my animations and i find it easy to use.
IBUS PAINT IS BETTER ALL I SAYYY😭😭😭😭❤
I use ibis paint. ITS SO GOOD!!!
R u a perchance a Bsd fan..? (BECAUSE THE CARD AND THE SCAR REMINDS ME OF NIKOLAI!)
BTW I LUV UR ART!!! IT’S SO COOLLL >:3!
I’m curious, how on earth do you use the lasso tool to draw-??
krita since im broke and i dont have an IPAD so instead i use my mouse in pc
ye
i just prefer procreate because im left handed and i accidentally always bump the ibis paint options all the time 😭
As I can remember u can change it to right
@ I know you can change procreate but i don’t think ibis paint changes
@@julessparkles8556you can! u js need to go to settings and you can choose where it is
Tbh I'm moving out from Ibis paint and try other apps bcs Ibis paints gets hella laggy depending how big the canvas is. And I want my drawings to be good quality. But tbh it's a great app for begginers especially for people who are new too digital art
3:03 Krita and sometimes Hipaint
I use ibis paint and firealpaca :3 (IBIS PAINT EATS MY STORAGE) also i kinda like procreate more but im js broke like that
I would like see a medibang vs ibispaint vs procreate
I just bought procreate but am still getting use to digital art (tried it once for a year then forgot about it) what I would really like to know is which would be best for making manga?
