I will never watch any video where people move their hands like this in the beginning. I'm not a dog whose attention you are trying to get. All these jumpcuts....it feels so rushed. I skiiped through the video and when I can actually see you draw you show me how you use a pencil sharpener. Not for me.

With regards to the little tools you use to last down the pan pastels, they're the same as eye shadow sponge applicators. They do fall to pieces quite easily. It's just how they're tiny and mass manufactured, I guess. You could potentially find bulk packs of those in a sponge quality that works for you. (Apologies if you already know this. It's the first video of yours that I've seen) I really like layering pencils over alcohol markers, but there was something missing - the pastels could be that. Thank you for sharing.

I really enjoy watching your videos because your voice overs don't have that weird inflection in the tone a lot of people use that I find irritating (I'm autistic). And your art style is super fun :) Commenting your comment from 22:13 --putting ink on top of coloured pencils is a fabulous and fast way to ruin your ink pens. I keep forgetting this, and have ruined brand new ink pens this way.

I love it all, especially the mouse one. The sky looked beautiful. I think the mushroom could have been a cute character too if he had a face! I know the feeling of making art you’re unhappy with. But sometimes you need time and space away from it, and you come back and wonder why you were so hard on yourself because it looks just fine 💜

january def felt like it would never end :/ the tools they want you to use with the pan pastels are a HUGE rip off. yeah they are handy but way too expensive for that they are and there is NO danger with touching the pastels, its the dust from using them that can be the problem. so better to work by a window if possible 🙃🙂

I think what you might be looking for are some pastel pencils to go with the pastel pens. Pitt pastel are harder and are “easier” to sharpen. Stabilo carbothello ones are a little bit softer and chunkier. You can also go for the derwent pastel pencils. I love them all. 😅

I use Polychromos and Derwent Drawing together to get the best of both worlds :) Polychromos are **the best** for details because they stay sharp for longer. I can create intense color by burnishing hard, and the tip never broke or crumbled on me. Pastel shades can be easily created by layering with white. I never saw a point in buying pastel colored pencils - art supply brands literally create their pastel shades by mixing bright pigments with white 😅 Polychromos white is translucent, while Derwent Drawing is opaque (similar to Holbein I guess). My set of 30 came with way more vibrant colors than I'd like, so I'm not sure what you mean when you say they're "toned down". That's not my impression. I love that they have great neutrals and skintone shades, but I had to purchase those individually, because they're not in any of the smaller sets. On larger pieces I always use watercolor as a base layer to get rid of the white paper. I don't have the patience to completely fill the tooth of the paper with Polychromos.

Really don’t know if there is anything wrong with touching pastels?? Don’t really want to know either 😅. When I did a large pan pastel project though and had to blend a lot I did use a hand barrier cream just in case. Love your videos ❤.
