I'm always so scared to start a new sketchbook and ruin it 😅 but I heard somewhere that I should do something on a scrap paper and then I could either stick it in or toss it. At least for the first drawing so I think I'll try that. Take some of the pressure off I guess lol
I've never really gotten into keeping just a regular sketchbook, but for my graphic novel, I've made my own custom sketchbooks, so I don't decorate the covers because they're all patterned. I don't really decorate the inner cover either, I add the start and end dates and my phone number, and then just put waste washi tape in or there's this place that puts little stickers on their coffee lids, so I pull them off and stick them in. Stuff like that.

I have such a ridiculous amount of stickers too, I tend to paint my sketchbook covers but I will use stickers as well on the corners or the back, and sometimes when an artwork isn't going right and it's not erasable I use sticky notes or stickers to cover the Folly's ❤❤❤
When I start a new sketchbook I'll put a few stickers on to start it but then I add onto it during the year so they're more memorable for me :) that way I can look at a sticker and go "Oh I added this on around (this time)" !! :D
What I've been doing is that I wait until I finish the sketchbook and then I paint on it in a specific colour. I started with purple, I'm at orange. So excited to finish my little rainbow series this year.

I like to paint on the front of my sketchbook and the absolutely BOMB the back of the sketchbook with stickers☺️ Like not a single centimeter is free from stickers😈 I have about 20 sketchbooks, but it’s only the latest 10 that I have done “seriously”, like actually finishing them, decorating the covers and giving them numbers:) My first very first gouache painting was actually on the cover of my sketchbook (ps. Gouache is not great on plastic so I don’t recommend it, it’s all cracked now) Sorry for the little rant, if it’s not interesting at least it boosts the algorithm:)

I too have a fear of eyes but not goat eyes but wide opened eyes like someone who may be shocked or surprised, or those few people who can push their eyeballs further out beyond their eye sockets 😅 I cant look at them either I get so anxious 😅 great drawings you’ve done for your first page, looking forward to seeing more videos! ⭐️

Usually I slap on stickers right away but leave space for new ones I might receive! That way the front never gets old and I get tiny serotonin bursts every time another one is added xd

if you want more book recommendations; i’m reading a trilogy called ‘the queens of renthia’ it’s amazing! it’s a fantasy trilogy and follows the main character called daleina! i’m on the very last book, and the first has to be, by far, the best. i can’t explain it thoroughly enough since i’ve had a break from reading recently and haven’t read it in awhile, but it’s so amazing! it’s by sarah beth durst (this is my first video of yours i’ve seen so 😭🤍) the first book is called the queen of blood! (the title will make sense)
One of mine had a cloth like cover so I used it to swatch and eventually the cover was decorated with all kinds of craziness. The Smoother Sketchbooks I use stickers and paint pens
oh cool! the swatch idea seems like it'd create a really unique and memorable cover design by the end of it ^^ and ofc you can't go wrong with stickers and paint pens either ✨

What I do is I decorate my cover with stickers and label then I start going with the introduction then the rest is just yk me and more cute stickers!❤
I usually put stickers on the back of my sketchbook and maybe one on the front but I paint the front or draw on the front

i personally make a whole cover and then just glue it onto the cover 😭 The cover is the most enjoyable thing for me
