I hated the one machine. I think I was just too small for it. It was clunky and uncomfortable and felt like I was only using my top AB muscles. I’m excited to try the others though

My PF doesn't have that last one you struggled with. I wish it did. I'm 6'4 so, I think it might work better for a person of my size.
I also couldn't move the Hammer on the lowest setting. I'm here to looking to figure out how to use the Ab Coaster. The place to kneel on moves and I'm afraid I'll fall
Omg I love that one so much! Unfortunately, my PF location doesnt have that machine for some reason. You will love that machine and you wont fall just hold on the the bar thats right there in front of you. The lighter the weight the easier it is to move so be careful and start off slow so you can see how the machine works😃 you will be fine! Test it out👍🏽

I really hate people who think they’re too good for Planet Fitness. I told someone I work out at PF and they were like “eww” Like why? It’s cheap and its just like any other gym (and also everything is purple which is pretty to me haha) I love Planet Fitness💪🏻😊

I been going to pf for 9 mos already and I have made great strides. I see folks there with different health goals. Like they say to each his own. I'll continue to use pf, I get more than my $ worth.
Planet Fitness is not necessarily a bad gym. It is mainly the marketing that people dislike. The commercials stereotype people who are into fitness. Plus, Planet Fitness does not have heavy barbells that cater to those who enjoy lifting really heavy. However, if you want a simple workout that gets the job done, then Planet Fitness is totally fine.
They are just dumbasses full of complexes.
You can work out anywhere and get the job done a park ,your house, any gym just make use of the machine and u can freestyle and do your own thing..planet fitness is cheap and good in my opinion
Guys, there is obviously NOTHING wrong with not knowing how to use a machine. You can always ask the person closest to you or just ask PF employees. I've taught several new people to the gym how to use machines.
Yo fr people at the g are nice this Spanish guy came to telling me how to work on a machine for the leg and he was super awesome really made me feel welcomed

I struggle bc I don’t know how to use them and I’m so embarrassed to try so I end up on a bike for an hour.
To add to this, PF also has an app that has videos on how to use each machine as well, so you don't even have to interact with other people if you don't want lmao
I meet such nice people at the gym this way, there’s no shame in asking! Usually people will take the time to help, it’s like a community there!
Hey y’all! Never EVER be embarrassed to walk up to a staff member and ask how to use the machine properly. The way I think about it is this..”hey I’m paying for this and this is their job” 🤷🏾♀️ That thought eases my anxiety bc I don’t like wasting money

im watching this bc i went to the planet fitness today and spent half the time sitting onto a machine, spending 2 minutes trying to figure out how to use it, and then awkwardly walking away because i couldn't figure it out

I've always felt kind of weird at the gym because I've seen too many videos of people videoing people at the gym that don't know what they're doing. Like what the heck, if you can take the time to video them doing something wrong then just help them...

Here’s the thing. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxS7ex6L4sMqpaTn4LnBPyBmRQsSingL8y These are not meant to be stretched to 12ft or 14ft or whatever else where you’re a 6ft person, stepping in the band and trying to do standing shoulder presses. If they tear, (assuming they’re not defective) then you’re trying to stretch them way too far. For a full body stretch, bands should be like three feet long, doubled over. Don’t buy the bad press. A fully extended reverse fly is avoid as far as you should stretch these. If it’s too easy, use more than one band at a time.Not rocket science.
My favorite part of this video is the last machine. The guy in the background starts pumping like crazy when he thinks the hot girl is looking his way and then goes back to just checking his phone when her back is turned and then tries to covertly pick his nose.

For the last one, it’s easier to do when you lower the seat. I’m short so I get why you put it all the way up but try it, with the seat slightly lower so that only a little bit of your back is on the top part of the machine.
I was so scared to use that last machine after watching this video I’ve avoided it for months. But I tried it today and I was so proud of myself I was able to do 10 reps at a time! You really gotta throw your legs into your chest I think is the key

Look to where your shoulder blade placement is, the small pad, and the open space should be just under them.
I’m new to planet fitness so that’s why I’m on UA-cam, trying to find “How To Use Planet Fitness Equipment” .... lol.
Thank you for this video. Do they offer classes on how to use the weight machines? I felt like a dummy when I was trying to figure out how to adjust the seat on their leg press machine, so I just went home.

This video is a life saver. I was using the machine at time stamp 3:36 completely wrong. I’m sore because I was bending my elbows to pull the arms back. So many people walked past and workout around me yet no one attempted to tell me I was doing it wrong! All I can do is laugh now and do better tomorrow! Thanks!
That last ab machine is my favorite.you xan feel it workung the entire tummy.and it does shape the top,middle and bottom.tummy

The last machine you used is my favorite, once you know how to use it, it really works out your abs, but I’ve seen so many people be unable to move it or give up cuz they don’t like it. 10/10 recommend that machine

how good your abs look-is very much down to your diet.you dont have to train abs all the time for that
i tried it and i couldn’t even do it 🥲 so i just gave up and left haha
The key is to not push your back flat against the backrest, but have the tiniest arch to your back, shoulders back and your core tight and flexed, then lift your knees towards your chest rather than use your arms to pull the bars down. Try to keep your upper body mostly still, your core and legs should do all the movement. Similar to a reverse crunch you can do from lying on the floor, except you’re sitting upright on a machine. Its the opposite to the machine she used earlier with the elbow pads, in which you move your arms and upper body forward whilst keeping your legs still. They are the same exercise but focusing on different angles. Hence the padding placement is different on those two machines but the are essentially the same concept.

That last ab machine works awesome. Yeah it’s hard but it develops some nice abs. The key is to keep going once you get the start. My trainer made me do it every single day we worked out together and I had some amazing abs under all my loose skin. Keep doing it. You won’t regret it.

That last ab machine is by far the toughest, you're able to do a real "crunch" and the range of motion is wide, I usually do about 120 lbs for reps.
I just tried that last machine this morning and I was like omg what am I doing wrong here this is so hard!! 😂 so that’s why I came to UA-cam to see how to work the machines at the gym and saw your video. It’s funny how you thought the same thing as me with that same machine. Definitely won’t try it again but will try the others you posted. Thanks for the informative video ❤

The machine at 5:12 is the best machine out of all of them. The last one I can see how it works and it can be hard so I would say that one as second best. The rest of these machines your wasting your time. Take it from me I’ve tried all of them, and I’m a gym rat and have abs like crazy. I got my abs from doing regular crunches and set ups, leg raises but the 5:12 machine defined my abs, made my abs stronger and shredded.

About that last machine.....Im fat and out of shape and i do 50 of those on i think 50-55lbs(i cant remember) all's i know is people stare hard when i do the things fat and out shape people usually don't do. Like those death squats on the weight machine. "Who said fat girls can't run? Lol and thats on Mary had a little lamb"😂😂😂

Savvy keep doing the Hammer Strength Crunch. It is so good. Yes really hard to get going but totally worth it. I also do PF and just love this one.

I find the machines in the 30 minute zone are the same ones in the open gym area.... I just head for the 30 minute zone cause it seems like no one ever goes there for some reason and I dont have wait to use the same machine somewhere else in the gym.....oh and that last machine is a b!tch...I also used it once and never again....I see everyone struggling to use it, since its located right in the middle of my gym it also entertaining to watch someone else try to use it...........

That last machine is the absolute best along with the oblique machine. It’s difficult because you are activating lower and upper abdominals simultaneously. It’s worth putting in some time with it.

I tried it once and never tried it again .....
7:15 that machine is best for abs at PF. I keep the weight at 20lbs or lower. Do 3 sets of 10, one set with legs under the left side pad, one set with legs under both right and left side pad, then legs under the right side pad. Do that with the seat adjusted to its lowest setting, then middle setting, and highest setting.

i tried the last machine for the first time yesterday and was like nope not for me nope HAHA anyway thank you so much for your videos!! i signed up for planet fitness 4 weeks ago but have only been using the machines i know (it's not many tbh) but ur videos have been really helpful!! especially showing how to adjust the machines bc sometimes they just wont budge for me 😭 and since im relatively new to all this, seeing u show how to use the machines makes me less nervous about trying it myself! thank u :)

The second to last ab machine feels really good. I tried that for the first time last week and I feel it much more than the rope cable crunches. I also saw good results from my mid abs from using it last week.
I was prepared to use half these machines you showed us but my planet fitness only has one of them 🙃
I think the last machine was hard because your upper back is pushing against/resisting the forward motion of the crunch. Try pivoting from the lower back/hips and don't let your upper back touch the upper back pad too much. Also grip the handles further to the front to get more leverage.
yeah,,, that last machine kills me every time I get on it cause it burns the fire out of my core,,,, no pain, no gain. Like the old saying goes, "if it was easy, everyone would be doing it" the payoff is worth the effort!
Exhale while pulling the weights up against gravity. Inhale on the return (weights going down)

they have a machine like the one at 8:11 at crunch and I did it all the time, no issue. I haven't tried the one at planet fitness, but maybe that specific variety just isn't designed very well.

Btw that first machine you used at the 30 minute express workout zone can also be found in the area where they have all the abs and stretching equipment ( In my planet fitness home gym anyway.)
I'm at a new gym where it appears that the only ab crunch machine is similar to the one @ 8:03 and I'm finding it does nothing for my abs. I can't put my back flat against the pad because the angle of the piece where the handles are. I feel like this only working my arms. I'll have to ask the staff how to improve results with this.

I always bend my elbows going back and straighten them out when pushing up on the machine at 4:40. I’ve been using it for months 😂😂 am I doing it wrong?
Not for nothing.. I like PF like the next guy, but all those ab machines are useless and really doesn't do much or any work to your core.
If you gain massive traps,which in fact are sexy,they'll hate on you.
You have to look at the machine diagrams and insure your hips or abdomen are properly aligned with the joint on the machine where it bends. Otherwise its going to be difficult and field very weird. Thats sort of why they have those pictographs.
I also like the rope crunch, however it seems to be a cross between a crunch and a bend at the hips motion. You can isolate the crunch, however its also a bit off with limited range of motion.
The second to last machine always hurts my lower back :/ idk if im doing something wrong or if its because im short my body type doesnt measure up to it correctly? Does anyone have advice on how i can use this machine the best way?
The first one make sure u are NOT holding ur breath at any moment. I did and I tore my ab muscles apart and I was in serious pain. I had to go to ER.
So please make sure u are breathing slow and controlled and not holding ur breath.
The Ab machine at 4:30 every time I come forward it gives my lady bits an uncomfortable pressure 😕 does anyone else have that problem? Am I doing it wrong and is there a better way?
I use this at my gym no problem 😉 elbows r spose to go closer to legs i do 35 LBS the burn is in your legs i noticed dunno why l, but my stomach has done a 180 over 3 months and i will only use this for my abs
Hi my name is Rina I do the ab crunch Monday through Friday I take Saturday and Sunday off for recovery I am a one-handed woman I have two hands but I'm not able to use my left hand and I have learned to do the ab crunch with one hand I'm only able to put on 20 pounds of it and I do all full crunch I count 100 times and then I'm done with that one for the day and then I do the other machines there are some machines that the trainers tell me not to get on because it takes two hands and when they tell me that it just triggers me too figure out how to thank you for your videos God bless

i have a planet fitness membership and ours doesn't have half the machines yours does for abs!! they only have 3 machines for abs so you have to pretty much do only floor ab workouts
Why don't you do a piece about LA Fitness' ab & back machines. They have some good ones & all their machines have labels on them which tell clients how to use them. My favorite is the three position, ab-crunch machine. I think comparing and contrasting the equipment at LA Fitness with Planet Fitness would be a useful and popular video article.
