I have been making crochet blankies for over 20yrs now, and this is a great method for fixing minor problems. I would add a couple of rows of single crochet to the border to help it to have a uniform look. Also, if you are a beginner, you should be counting your stiches every few rows to check and see if you are adding/losing stitches. After you have been doing it a while, you will notice quickly if you have made an error and won't need to count stiches hardly at all.

Thank you SO MUCH AhSel!! I am a beginner and made a blanket using the Bernat soft bulky yarn. Also I used a double crochet. I have been online and UA-cam for days to learn how to fix the sides. Needless to say it it a mess! It's for my little granddaughter so it is special to me. Not special enough pto unravel it! Ok thought I was making a baby blanket, but now it is about 90" wide! Anyway, I have liked this video and subscribed to your channel. You are truly heaven sent and I can pretty much guarantee I will be on your channel constantly! 44 year crocheted off/on, for many years, I was off, now that Im retired, I'm back with the craft to stay!!!!! Thanks ever so kindly darlin, for sharing your approach of leveling a border. I ended up doing different stitches each row. Then i changed my hook size for a few rows and brought everything back to where i should have had it all in the 1st place. But i had only gone thru the 1st of 5 skeins so i couldnt do it your way. When im done ill use your way if its all funky. Now im using stitch markers so hopeful ill stay on track. Thank you.❤

I missed 1 stitch in 2 rows end, in this project I am doing, 54 chains each row. I was thinking I'd have to go back 4-5 rows and I was in tears because it has taken me days. Thank god I found your video, I will continue to make it and fix it this way at the end!! ☺️
