  • This is the Redragon Horus TKL K621, a keyboard that looks remarkably similar to my favourite low profile keyboard, the Logitech G915 TKL. That other keyboard is remarkably expensive by comparison and this one seemingly offers a number of very awesome features for a low, low price. But is it good?
    Redragon Horus TKL features:
3-Mode Connection: USB, Bluetooth and 2.4GHz
80% TKL Low-Profile design with red switches
Dedicate macro keys that you can record on-the-fly at hardware level
    Multiple on-board memory profiles
    Dedicate media playback buttons
20 onboard lighting profiles and the ability to adjust brightness or just switch to white
Hot swappable switch design which lets you change switches easily:
Red switches - Linear operation, 40g operating force, 2mm actitation point, 4mm total travel, 50 million clicks.
The Redragon Horus TKL is surprisingly good for a number of reasons:
    It's really affordable
It's comfortable to type on and has loads of features including easy on board controls, software for key remapping, etc
It sounds great to type on and is a pleasure to use
    Lowlights though:
2.4GHz connection seems flakey and signal loss is a problem (BUT I have a lot of wireless devices in my room)

The light flicker is there, it's just that our eyes are too slow to see it as flickering in real life, while camera isn't. If you had a room light with this amount of flickering, you would likely still not see it flicker, but you would likely experience stroboscopic visual effect, for example, if you moved your hand quickly, instead of a motion blur, you would see multiple instances of your hand.

I have wired logitech keyboard and the only reason i was keeping it around was the volume roller on the top right hand side. It is by far THE most convenient thing in the whole keyboard world for me. So I've seen this video(thank you for it!) and grabbed one of this redragon horus just today and I must say I'm in love and it exceeded my expectations. Especially for the 1/4th of the price tag for the g915, I can't complain about it. It is heavy, stiff, doesn't feel cheap and It's a pleasure to type with.
The only thing I couldn't figure out is how to turn off the RGB lighting. In the manual it says Fn+PrtSc should turn on/off the lighting but it doesnt do anything. for now I'm using the brightness level to turn off the lighting which is not ideal but it does the job.

received mine today, really glad to get this one. having used blue switches before, which are very clicky and loud tbh, this feels like cotton. had a very limited budget to play with and this was ideally the only one in that bracket, and oh coz of the white scheme as well, coincidently, currrent mouse also being used is by redragon, and that hasnt disappointed me a bit over the past 3 years.
regarding reviews for it, its too early to tell. for now love the difference in typing and sounds are not too loud to wake the next door neighbor,.l the color scheme is lovely as well. not a big fan of macros etc, but ultimately hoping it will serve me well :) will give a solid review over the weeks of usage.

    G915: About 3 weeks

@@dcman2384 Mine are blue. If you can find them they're really fast keys. Made by Kailh. Google them, they're a fairly popular switch brand (I believe the 'Logitech G915' stole them from Havit ). The ReDragon Horus TKL K621 is the board I'm currently using right now. It's a little stiff but doesn't allow your finger to hit other keys. Yeah, they're red. I check every month on line to see if someone or some company released a key version to fit my boards. I also have a Velocifire TKL 02 I put a Rosewill '0' rings kit on to shorten the key stroke. Really worked well. They are red round stem switches. ReDragon also has a K 607 RGB tkl board that uses blue switches from whom, I have no clue. But for $40.00, it's on my list to check out.
I replace the switches in my Cougar Revenger S mouse (from Omron to Kailh) a year ago. I thing they're made better. The Omron switches began to 'double click'. Like the Razor 'Viper', Revenger S has a high polling rate which I think is better than most gaming mice. Smoother high speed mouse whips if you're into high fps rates.

However, I'm bit skeptical of the longevity, especially because it's slightly on the expensive side for me (being from a low income country with high import duty). To be honest, the Corsair keyboards will have an overall better experience than RD KB's. One of the main parts of that is the deck flex. But if you use alot of wireless devices that are far from the PC the receivers are plugged into, the better constructed Corsair receivers will probably perform better.
My main KB was a K70 TKL. Had 0 issues with it for the year or so I used it. Needed a WL keyboard for work stuff so I just got a RD K618. So far, no issues as long as I keep the KB within a few feet of the WL receiver, and dont have any metal/thick objects between the KB and receiver.

Haven't had a issue on mine yet. My Wifi Dongle is plugged into a USB 3.0 hub that's on the side of my desk. I had to once plug it into another port when it started to double press keys. Once plugged into a different port it went away completely. Mind you I had the exact problem on my Deathstalker v2 Pro but at 6 times the price. Think its got to do with the environment and how many wifi devices you are running

It doesnt have that issue if you keep the keyboard within a few feet of the receiver. Dont put the receiver too far above the keyboard, and make sure to not put thicker metal objects between the KB and receiver. Try to put it on your center monitor's stand and just run a USB cable between the receiver and the tower.
Thats where I put my Aerox 9, G502 LightSpeed, and K618 Horus wireless receivers. I have yet to have any DC's/missed inputs on any of the devices. I use them for hours (6-12 most days as I use my PC to run my business and to game). I also use the K618 to do OS/software work on client PC's.

Many thanks for the review, it looks tempting.
However, I am very sensible about the slightest sound abnormalities.
The space bar... it seems to make a "tone" (roughly an "e" of the middle octave) rather than a "normal" space tapping sound.
I am not sure if I could get along with it, if every space press (e-tone) sticks out of the typing rhythm.

i have both redragon keyboard and logitech keyboard
and my personal opinion is logitech keyboard is soo overpriced with little feature..and the software is horrible...a thousand update but none for my keyboard on feature and fixes
whereas the redragon keyboards which has many version is cheap, good quality and excellent software (macro-wise)
i'm a big fan of macro keys and if you see on the redragon keyboard lineup they have much to offer than logitech.

Its funny that RD has been very solid with its price to options ratio. My K618 Horus has been wonderful to work with. Ive even used it for work, and get an average of 6+ hours a day on it. Had 0 issues.
For a sub $100 USD keyboard, being able to hotswap switches for repair or preference, as well as having solid RGB, good connectivity (make sure to not have thick metal between KB and receiver. Also be mindful of distance) and solid enough construction (obviously dont use it as a weapon, take care of it itll be fine) for desk/mobile use, are amazing features.
Im still gonna keep my K70 TKL just in case. But a wireless keyboard that has the "higher end" options, functioning as well as it does, is good in my book.

There literally is no single 100% 2.4Ghz per-key RGB low profile mechanical keyboard on the market! Not a single one! Modern technological monoculture is so disgusting! :( I hope at least low-profile becomes standard for mechanical keyboars, soon, because the high ones are unuiseable, and so there would at least a chance for some variations ..Well, thanks for the video. Maybe I will choose a TKL and get an additonal Numblock. Are the sockets compatible with maybe cherry mx or Gateron low profile switches? Or is it at least compatible with the 'normal height' Redragon switches?
