15 years ago Zout was lots better than Shout. I noticed it hasn’t seemed to work as well in recent years and wondered if it were my imagination. Glad to see these results. Now I feel validated.
I’ve used Zout FOREVER, which does not remove stain immediately, but then I soak the items in washing soda dissolved in water. Works nearly every time but I’m willing to try something else if the product alone would remove the stain without the long soak!

My wife swears about shout and on really bad stains she put shout and a watered down solution of dawn dishwashing soap and uses a soft brush to scrub the mixture into the stain. This mixture works about 99% of the time, if this doesn’t work, you are stuck with a stain on that piece of clothing.

I did a similar test when my toddler son was staining all his clothes, and I was going through a bottle of stain cleaner a month. I found Zout the best.
Thank you. I know you're not supposed to mix chemicals but the two I use, Shout and Oxiclean, work even better together. I spray them both on tough stains like bacon grease.
There’s a reason why!: Shout (or dish soap, etc.) breaks up the grease. Oxy breaks down the organic components that stain. Put together, you’ve treated both components that would leave a visible mark.
Thanks for doing this. I skipped to about 14:07 to get the results. I had purchased the OxiClean and it rated #2 so that was satisfying. I have never seen The Pink Stuff but I'll look for it.
I'm a simple man, I see a Project Farm video, I put it on, hit like and let the entire thing play even if it isn't something I'm interested it. Best channel on the internet.
Thanks! I really like your reviews. As far as the stain removers, I have found that putting my liquid clothes detergent (currently All Free and Clear) directly on stains, rubbing it in and leaving for last into the wash, gives me equal or better results than just using Shout. So I suggest you include this as a follow-up test. But I'll pick up some Pink Stuff for comparison!
Dollar Tree's LA's Totally Awesome cleaner works really well, too. Rereading the label, I'll try it on my stains, too, instead of Spray'nWash, moving to Pink soon.
So refreshing to have non bias reviews of products. You can't trust anything you see on YT from everyone being sold out to the products. Keep it up PF.
I do not take the time to thank you often enough. I am impressed by the depth of your testing. And number of unique measuring tools used, is impressive. So Thank you
I, like many others, enjoy your reviews! We have become wiser with our purchases thanks to you. I do have a suggestion for another review. That would be pruning shears for shrubs and bushes. I've bought a few but found most don't cut that well. Some require two hands to cut, and others slide to the side while cutting. Thanks for all that you do!
For grease or oil stains, rub white cream hand cleaner onto the stain, without pumice works best. Let sit for a few hours or overnight, wash in the washing machine separately from regular laundry. I've been doing this on my work pants and coveralls for a long time.
Yup, worked great for me too. I haven't tried without pumice, but Gogo Orange hand cleaner worked miracles for me. I got dirty hydraulic oil out of a cream colored pair of cargo pants and there wasn't any visible stain left behind.

I’ve been using Shout for probably my whole life. My grandmother worked with vintage linens and she always used it. I feel like it has never failed me to get a stain out. If it’s oily, I might add like one drop of dawn dish soap. I love the review and appreciate the lack of music and no sponsorship. Keep up the good work.
Alright Todd. My toilet clogged last night so it’s time for the Project Farm toilet bowl throw down. Let’s test eating capacity, time to refill, noise on flush/refill, possibly mechanism durability. From $89 Home Depot special to the Rolls-Royce Toto. You and Cousin Eddie can explore where no one has effectively tested before!
@@bridgettstephens5582 Usually, I heard about it being used for cleaning up buildup, such as the rings from hard water. It's one of those circa-2012 viral Facebook type "tricks". It's just a mild acid, and doesn't particularly work well. If you need an unclogging acid, use sulfuric or lye based drain cleaners. Plungers or a 5 gal bucket always worked better for most clogs. As for buildup, just scrub more than once a decade with any cleaner and it shouldn't be a problem. But the original comment wants toilet models compared, not a bad idea!
A Tide pen is a must have. My wife carries one with her in her purse and it has come in very handy and works well. We use shout at home, and it sometimes takes a couple washes - just check it before drying. Great video!
I was thinking the same thing. He tested it in the degreaser video, though it would also fit well here, especially considering the price per oz and how little is required.
I've always found LA's Totally Awesome products to be fine for the money but average at best to the top brands. The Oxi Clean MaxForce used in this clip is the best I've found at removing oil/grease stains.
Awesome tests! From personal experience regularly getting oil stains on clothing, my go to method is mixing a small amount of oxyclean and dish soap together in a bowl, putting it on the stain and rubbing it in, letting it soak a while. Works significantly better than any method I have found. My wife is always amazed the stains I’ll get out of our clothing.
Todd my wife and I use a stain remover called Folex for laundry and carpet stains. It seems to work better than the others we’ve tried , just our opinion. I think she usually gets it at Lowe’s. Just sharing in case you do a carpet version of this video. Your channel is awesome !!
The formula has changed. The old one worked like a dream, removing practically any stain easily and quickly without any fumes or chemical smell. It was a light pink in color. But I recently bought a new jug filled with a clear liquid that didn’t remove anything. I was so surprised by the change that it motivated me to conduct some research. Apparently Folex is now owned by a company who decided to change the formula but kept the name and packaging the same. So loyal customers thinking they’re buying the original will be duped. Why ruin a good thing? Don’t waste your money. It’s not the same formula.
I don't usually add a comment to your videos but, I have to say, this was pure class. I also design and build speakers and can easily tell a difference in crossover components. Thank you Danny.
Could you compare charging cables for phones? My iPhone guy tells me OEM is best because they use silver, not copper. Sounded like a question for you! LOVE and TRUST your content.
The resistivity of silver is just slightly less than that of copper, so in theory electrons could flow faster, but really the diameter of the wire makes a far larger difference and charging also depends way more on the charging block controlling the current than it does on the cable. As long as your cable is rated to the wattage for your charging block, and your charging block is rated to the wattage for your phone, there should barely ever be a difference from material. Silver is definitely more expensive though, that’s certain. I would be interested to see the results of testing though.
"Goop Hand Cleaner & Stain Remover" 14oz container for $5, plus comes in many sizes. Just rub-it-in on ANY tuff clothing stains (including oils) and then wash. My husband uses it in the garage for his hands and I for his stained work clothes lol

I’m not sure how the return process works, I still haven’t had to replace any of mine yet and I’m going on 4 years! I work out doors mostly and spend a lot of time hiking!
Darn tough socks. Not like wool socks from 20 years ago. They won’t make your ankles itch or leave your feet sweaty and they literally have a lifetime warranty that they back up. USA made in Vermont.
Every shop has a bottle of dawn dish washing liquid in it as it is used for so many different things and in a pinch works OK as a stain remover. I add a little dawn to my stain treatments. I would liked to have seen that included as I wondered if it helped any at all or was a waste of time and money.

Thank you for sharing!
THANK YOU!! i first landed on your double sided tape vid you had, looking for a good tape for a project.

You are absolutely the best Reviewer on UA-cam 👑🤝👏👏👏
Thank you!
As a UK viewer it's nice to see products that are available in / from the UK in the tests and doing well. keep up the great work!
Thanks, will do!
I'm from Canada but I use the Vanish stick from the UK and it works amazing. I'd be curious to see how that would have compared to the sprays.
We have been using Pink Stuff for about 2yrs. We have been so happy with how well it works. It's cool to see your video and it's performance. Thank you again for all of your efforts and dedication!
Thanks for sharing!
I did a similar test when my toddler son was staining all his clothes, and I was going through a bottle of stain cleaner a month. I found Zout the best.
Thanks for sharing.
This result is what every customer wants. Thanks for making the best content on this platform.
Thanks!
Thank you. I know you're not supposed to mix chemicals but the two I use, Shout and Oxiclean, work even better together. I spray them both on tough stains like bacon grease.
Same, I use shout first and then the oxiclean spray a few mins later because it’s thicker.
It would be interesting to have that as a follow-up test.
There’s a reason why!:
Shout (or dish soap, etc.) breaks up the grease. Oxy breaks down the organic components that stain. Put together, you’ve treated both components that would leave a visible mark.
Hands down best channel on UA-cam. Thanks for all of your comprehensive reviews!
Thanks and you are welcome! Thanks for supporting the channel! I really appreciate it!
Thanks for doing this. I skipped to about 14:07 to get the results. I had purchased the OxiClean and it rated #2 so that was satisfying. I have never seen The Pink Stuff but I'll look for it.
You are welcome! Thanks for the feedback.
Thanks! Your videos are my go to before buying nearly anything! Keep up the great work!
Thanks for supporting the channel! I really appreciate it!
Perfect compliment to your detergent review, as both are frequently used together.
Thank you for sharing!
I'm a simple man, I see a Project Farm video, I put it on, hit like and let the entire thing play even if it isn't something I'm interested it. Best channel on the internet.
Thanks so much!
You’re a simple man. You’re a man of culture. And you like wholesome things.
Thanks for the suggestion. Thanks for supporting the channel! I really appreciate it!
As a chef and a home DIYer, all I can say is; thank you so much for doing this.
You are welcome!
It’s wild seeing these cheap brands blow the expensive brands out of the water. I love it lol
Great point!
Dollar Tree's LA's Totally Awesome cleaner works really well, too. Rereading the label, I'll try it on my stains, too, instead of Spray'nWash, moving to Pink soon.
@@ljprep6250I do like the dollar tree awesome cleaner. Works well
So refreshing to have non bias reviews of products. You can't trust anything you see on YT from everyone being sold out to the products. Keep it up PF.
Thank you!
I'm so impressed with your testing that I just ordered a 2 pack of the pink stuff. Thanks again PF for another great video.
You're welcome!
I do not take the time to thank you often enough. I am impressed by the depth of your testing. And number of unique measuring tools used, is impressive. So Thank you
Thanks and you are welcome!
Useful for everyone. Thanks for a proper control, color fade, and testing a home brew.
Our pleasure!
Thanks and you are welcome! Thanks for the suggestion.
For car oil i use toothpaste. Works awesome.
For cooking oil stains, Dawn dish soap has been our stain remover for years, and it’s worked great. (I always get the 4X Platinum.)
@@shabadoo24 As a professional cleaner ALL stain remover products are an absolute con....
All you need is 1/4 scoop of your laundry powder Tide/OMO etc + 1/4 scoop oxyclean/vanish in a bowl of warm water.
THATS IT
Dawn or vodka work well on oil stains
Thanks, Todd! I've been using Shout fragrance free. It effectively removes the oils on my scalp from my pillow cases.
You are welcome! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks, will do!
Thank you for the video idea!
Years ago folks around here swore using Coke a Cola was the best thing to use for a clogged toilet. No joke!
For plungers the Beehive MAX has saved me from some troublesome situations 😅
Cousin eddy: $#!&&ers full.
What perfect timing, I've been needing a new stain remover!
dr bronners pepermint soap is my first go to, i showed to to the guy who cleans carpets and he could not believe the results
Thank you for sharing!
“Dollar sign pound exclamation point ampersand happens.” 😂😂😂
Thank you for sharing!
lol bro.. I bet this guy is hilarious in real life, outside of his meticulously scientifically accurate channel
That was great!
A Tide pen is a must have. My wife carries one with her in her purse and it has come in very handy and works well. We use shout at home, and it sometimes takes a couple washes - just check it before drying.
Great video!
Thanks! Thanks for sharing.
I’ve been using the Pink Stuff for years, including the cleaning paste, never ceased to be amazed by how good it works and how nice it smells!
Thank you for sharing!
I like how OxiClean lumps grass and blood together as one stain type.
It’s for football players 😉
Probably because they're the same colour.
@@BubbaSmurft Uhhh.... wat
They’re both proteins.
@@Rsalmond83 You and I might know that, but does the average person browsing the laundry soap aisle?
Love this stuff. Great videos, thanks!
Thanks so much! Thanks for supporting the channel! I really appreciate it!
Thank you for being sponsorship free! I always enjoy your videos when i come across them
Thanks! Thanks for supporting the channel! I really appreciate it!
YESSSSS cleaning supplies!! I can finally find out which one is lying bullcrap on their advertising😭
Thanks for watching!
Need to try LA’s totally awesome from dollar general. It works on grease and oil grime like nothing else. Only thing that gets white race suit clean.
Thank you for sharing!
I was thinking the same thing. He tested it in the degreaser video, though it would also fit well here, especially considering the price per oz and how little is required.
Works great for a tire cleaner also
I've always found LA's Totally Awesome products to be fine for the money but average at best to the top brands. The Oxi Clean MaxForce used in this clip is the best I've found at removing oil/grease stains.
Glad to see that Shout is one of the better stain removers, since I've used it for years. Thanks for the informative, unbiased review as always, Todd!
Great choice!
Thanks! Thanks for sharing.
Todd my wife and I use a stain remover called Folex for laundry and carpet stains. It seems to work better than the others we’ve tried , just our opinion. I think she usually gets it at Lowe’s. Just sharing in case you do a carpet version of this video. Your channel is awesome !!
Thanks! Thanks for the suggestion.
It's good to see the Shout that I grew up on still holds its own against decades of further chemistry advancements.
Thanks for the feedback.
It probably benefited from those same advancements. Just because they use the same brand name doesn't mean it's the same formula.
@@reverse_engineered We're going to test that!
Sorry, reflex.
I have found that Shout Advanced Gel is even better
No Wisk? That stuff has history! 'Ring around the collar ads' from 60's. It's still my favorite.
I could not find a spray version of whisk, probably why it wasn't included
I haven't seen Wisk in stores for many years.
@@Derick-ash Originally advertised to just pour on stain out of the bottle but then called "Wisk Away" when spray bottles became popular.
@@reverse_engineered I buy it mostly just to refill the spray bottle.
It was discontinued in 2016. My grandma used to use it and I loooved the smell of it!
I don't usually add a comment to your videos but, I have to say, this was pure class. I also design and build speakers and can easily tell a difference in crossover components. Thank you Danny.
Thanks!
Could you compare charging cables for phones? My iPhone guy tells me OEM is best because they use silver, not copper. Sounded like a question for you! LOVE and TRUST your content.
Thanks for the suggestion.
I like that idea. It's not advertised that way, but now that you've presented that, it's really worth trying.
Thanks for the feedback.
@@ProjectFarmtry goop. I’m curious? Airbnb cleaner here
Written on Goop's container: GOOP quickly and safely removes grease, paint, ink, tar, industrial soils, etc. from hands and washable clothing - Try it for difficult and stubborn stains on: Shirt collars, Blouses, Skirts, Slacks, Vinyl, Canvas, Woodwork, Rugs, and so much more! Sometimes I'll use an old toothbrush to rub it in even more, if I know the stain will be very difficult to remove. This stuff is Amazing!
@@ProjectFarm My pleasure! Thank You for all the years you've been helping us decide on great working products with your testings! My husband and I love your channel along with your awesome personality.
I can almost always give Project Farm a thumbs up before watching his videos. He's one of the BEST channels on youtube. That's MY rating.
Thanks so much!
You're the best! Would love to see some test on socks! Even big brand ones seem to have terrible elastic and get holes in them easily!
Bout the only thing to do to make them last a little longer is to dry using less heat or no heat.
Have you tried “Darn Tough” socks? They are not cheap, but they have been the best so far for me. They also have a lifetime warranty!
Darn tough!!!
PERFECT timing, we just ran out of shout and now we have something solid to base the next purchase on. Project Farm for the win as always!
Thanks! Glad to hear!
Thanks for all these reviews.
My pleasure!
Wow! साधुवाद, आपने उत्तम तुलनात्मक अध्यन किया हैं।
Every shop has a bottle of dawn dish washing liquid in it as it is used for so many different things and in a pinch works OK as a stain remover. I add a little dawn to my stain treatments. I would liked to have seen that included as I wondered if it helped any at all or was a waste of time and money.
Thanks for the suggestion.
👌Thanks!
Thanks for supporting the channel! I really appreciate it!
Try Dawn Power wash. For dishes
It is my go to.

UK viewer here - so happy to see one of our products included in and winning a project farm test!!
The Pink stuff brand has a great reputation in the UK for excellent value and results. They make a whole range of products and all the ones I’ve used have delivered great results - nice to see there will be happy pink stuff customers in the USA too 🇬🇧 🇺🇸 ❤
Thanks for the feedback!
Because of this test, I went on amazon and bought a range of products from them. Hopefully I won't regret it
The good news for us is although that may be $6 in the us, it's only $2 here (£1.50), so is definitely worth having around.
@GuerrillaSauce at amazon here in Spain it was 14€ 😥
@@DMalek Eek. The reason I buy this here in the UK is it's typically lower cost than the more popular brand names but just as good if not better. You saw those results right? The top-10 products all had very similar results. If there's something cheaper locally just go for that.
A dash cam review would be nice
Thanks for the suggestion.
another fantastic review. why are people so cheap with hitting the like button, it doesn't take much effort
This video takes the confusion out as to why pink stuff prices still rise.
Thanks for the suggestion.

Never thought about picking my stain remover by the stain itself! We should print this out a guide on which cleaner to remove on which stain!
🎵"Shout, shout, get it all out, these are the stains you can do without so come on, we're cleaning for you so come on"🎵
You're welcome shout company. There's your new commercial
Please woodworking finishes next. There are new technology out there like UV-activated finishes which cures instant, epoxy, lacquer, ceramic finishes and all the other traditional.
Thank you for the video idea!
@@ProjectFarm Add alcohol resistance as a test. I've had cologne bottles ruin shelves in my armoire.
Plus some states are banning many stains that people have been using for a long time.
Oil finishes are great, but they require a ton of work. Would be interesting to see how the newer products work.
If you do such a review, please include wipe-on polyurethane and also comparisons with tung oil and boiled linseed oil diluted with turpentine or mineral spirits.
need the same for carpet stain removers!
