I agree. Not a fan of those that swap in engines from other manufacturers, especially the cliche 2JZ or LS... I'll let this one slide though because he successfully converted it to LHD.
Super interesting and UNIQUE Hako. +Those last shots: a 1st person shot of a 3rd person shot of a magnificent machine. I DIG IT. Give great perspective of what it atakes to get those SWEET SWEET shutter-clicks 🤩
Definetley a 2jz Swapped Skyline. The Hakosuka is my favorite Skyline and I love the sound of a 2jz,a 2jz Swapped Skyline is all I ever wanted plus an RB30 Swapped Supra doesnt seem right to me.
Fun fact: the real LHD Hakosuka made for europe had the ignition on the left side of the steeringwheel instead of being on the right like on the RHD version.
Always love a Hako but that's not anti purist to me, it's a JDM purist car with the best JDM car of all time with the best JDM motor... And the Willies! I have a 54 Jeep sitting in my yard that I've been thinking of building since I saw that one
Needs a hood. I know it's a fresh project but too many people are just giving up on trying to fit a hood. It's not a trend or style to not have one. It's just incomplete. Sweet suspension setup and car over all tho
A beautiful car, I get that it's a hot rod and the motor is proably abit larger than the motor that would normally sit in the engine bay. I know the intercooler in front of the bumper is a car style , but personally I would prefer to find another place for it, it looks like this intercooler is custom made and it looks like if it had anoter shape it could be placed between the radiator and the bumper. Still a beautiful car though.
mmwosu honestly just personal preference. Growing up a lot of the builds I looked up to had non VVTI so it’s always been a dream engine of mine. Plus I’ve always heard good things about them

Larry Chen has been a blessing to UA-cam. I admire all of his work, including his hard work. Great job and great success to you, brother.
Well done thank you very much for the mentions I feel fortunate to have collaborated in this project !!
Almost hate to say it, but this works. Hakosuka is my ultimate dream car, so I was a little sceptical, but this build is gorgeous. Well done.
Me: *Sees thumbnail* thats a nice
Me: *Reads title* WHAT
This guy is awesome, third car on AutoFocus, unbelievable. Larry is always finding gems :)
When I hear his accent I think he's a filipino and then I saw his jacket. Confirmed he's a PINOY ❤🇵🇭
not only that when you see the video about the car they filmed before this you can easily tell he's pinoy
All of JT's builds are insane and very well executed. The fact that he builds these in his backyard is even more impressive. Absolutely amazing work.
This guy is a real builder. Also love the gaffers tape on Larry’s lens, guys an amazing photographer.
Although I wouldn't have this setup on my dream hakosuka, I still respect it alot.
My dream hakosuka would be an rb25de o rb26 made N/A
I agree. Not a fan of those that swap in engines from other manufacturers, especially the cliche 2JZ or LS... I'll let this one slide though because he successfully converted it to LHD.
What an awesome shoot! It must be such a great experience to photograph these unique vehicles in the way you did Larry. I love watching Autofocus!
If you prefer one power-band over another, I say let it fly!
This swap was done with the utmost respect for the Hakosuka.
Mad props.
That car in the back yard is a 1972 corolla
Super interesting and UNIQUE Hako. +Those last shots: a 1st person shot of a 3rd person shot of a magnificent machine. I DIG IT. Give great perspective of what it atakes to get those SWEET SWEET shutter-clicks 🤩
rest in peace JT
I love this channel and all your work Larry. Amazing photos put nicely into a mini documentary on super unique cars.
its awesome how you used the jeep as a camera car and still show how functional the jeep still is
Hands down the cleanest hakosuka I’ve ever seen
I guess Larry is the only one still doing any work at Hoonigan?
FACTS
Thank you Larry :) love the opening scenes vibes. Keep up the excellent content! 😄
Two of the most rad filipinos out there, Joel Tan and Micah Diaz. Much respect ✊🏻
i love it when someone do their car the way they want and like to.. 🤟
it's funny seeing people complaining about the motor ain't a RB, SR20, v8, or the original motor. it's his build and he can do what he wants.
The 2JZ doesn't bother me, but the LHD does
I see Filipino car guy, a solid 👍
Best channel so far
If you could only choose one: 2JZ Swapped Skyline or RB30 Swapped Supra?!
Square body supra
Are we talking Hako cause if so then I don't even have to think about it
Depends on the generation. Most of the model years (but not all!) I preferred the looks of the Skyline, so that would be my choice.
Definetley a 2jz Swapped Skyline. The Hakosuka is my favorite Skyline and I love the sound of a 2jz,a 2jz Swapped Skyline is all I ever wanted plus an RB30 Swapped Supra doesnt seem right to me.
rb celica supra
Anti-Purist but an absolute unit and a gorgeous build
Larry, you're a mad man! Laying out on the Jeep to get the money shots!
Glad to see the jeep being put to good use!
That is the cleanest skyline on the planet!!!!!!#A1 best of the best wow!!!!! So sick!!!!!
*Larry "GOD" Chen back at it again in these fuccing shcreets, doing KINGS WERK*
Long live the Anti-purist
Exactly. Kill the sacred cows. Swap everything into everything

Hello pare. Nice to meet you at the Toyo booth.
Auto like because of “ TANGINAMO “ jacket

I love all his cars
That jeeps is awesome, love that older video you had of it.
Nice one Oliver Baclay!!!
It’s absolutely perfect, wow.
Truely Inspirational. Absolutely awesome 🤘
What a nice car 😍
Nothing better than a fully built backyard project SEMA car! 🤘🏼
THIS GUY DEFINITELY BELONGS AT SEMA!!! Freaking backyard build!? That MF clean AF!
A true automotive enthusiast 👍
Saludo ako sau boss! Hehe.. At ang jacket oh "tanginamo" hahahahah
Napuna ko din boss..
Fun fact: the real LHD Hakosuka made for europe had the ignition on the left side of the steeringwheel instead of being on the right like on the RHD version.
🤣🤣 At 2:43 you show a Te27 mango (71-74 corolla coupe) instead of of a skyline. 👍❤️❤️
They did!
i want to life like larry
What about a rb26 in one of these?
dry january killed the hoonigan crew. XD
Awesome shoot Larry great cars he's super cool love that jeep willys too
Love this build ❤❤❤
This car is so clean. Unbelievable build, different parts that made it possible. Even his sweater is fire asf too... means Fuc* you btw 🤣
youre pic are sick...super nice ..keep up the good work....thanks
Looks like Azusa canyon! Great road to drive!
Beautiful just Beautiful
Tanginamo lifestyle.. awesome seeing pinoys build from ground up
proud 🇵🇭
Very Nice mix👆👌
Legit pinoy with that owner jeep and tanginamo hoodie lol nice
damn why filipino's jdm builds are so perfect?
Always love a Hako but that's not anti purist to me, it's a JDM purist car with the best JDM car of all time with the best JDM motor... And the Willies! I have a 54 Jeep sitting in my yard that I've been thinking of building since I saw that one
This is a collection of everything we appreciate about the JDM culture. Modern day Hot Roding.
Thought he had a bogo on for a split second and then realized it wasnt and got bummed out
Needs a hood. I know it's a fresh project but too many people are just giving up on trying to fit a hood. It's not a trend or style to not have one. It's just incomplete. Sweet suspension setup and car over all tho
Skyline hakosuka in left hand drive?
AZUSA CANYONS DOPE!
Home Town!
カッコいい車に乗ってるね👍 これを買って大正解だよ! 日本人は恋人、家族の様に大切にして来た貴重なクルマだから。
Oh my Gulay! It's Jokoy's uncle, complete with the filipino Elvis accent! :0)
Is it me or is the harnesses not attached to the bar? I really hope it's not bolted to the floor.
That's a sweet ride 👍
Masterpiece👌
Larry when are you putting a 2j in the Z
A left hand drive Hako??
LHD!! I love that considering RHD feels so wrong to me, like skating switch stance.
beobe99
Was most likely a necessity driven by the swap.
Where in North Dakota did this come from?! In Grand Forks, never seen this one yet!
That fixed seat would kill my back
Is this guy a pinoy? Love the ownerjeep!
Is that the 2j swapped willys
really wanna cop that sweater though...
California built with ND pioneer plates...it is way easier to license cars up here.
Filipino pride right here 💯 🇵🇭🔥 Filipino stance at it's best, tangina mo tol ganda ng Auto mo👌🔥
Galing mo talaga paps Joel
Do you guys till have the idx3?
I'd 13B or 20B swap it.
Then again, I'd swap 13B's in just about anything.
What’s with the Corolla pics in the back yard?
Fire the interns
those wheels
GT-R # 1
Rip blackmamba Kobe forever
Wilson Martinez Using a death to fish for likes. Come on man
The car in the backyard is a Corolla, isn’t it? 🤔
YES! 👍🏻
My dream setup would basically be this car but with a non VVTI 1JZ and black. Amazing build though
Why non VVTI if you don’t mind me asking? I’m always interested in people’s reasons for this
mmwosu honestly just personal preference. Growing up a lot of the builds I looked up to had non VVTI so it’s always been a dream engine of mine. Plus I’ve always heard good things about them
its a shame cause the originnal engine sounds sooooo sexy
Nani??!
Edit: Perfection.
Is300 transmission? So w58?
You forgot to add your endscreen elements. Awesome car and video though.
Philippine represent
Why no rb?
whats the song use at 9:14 ish. ?
Stop saying people’s cars are weird they’re unique! you basically are calling the owners weird because their cars reflect them.
Sweet Jesus 🔥🔥👀
Where are people finding all these 2JZ's?
I'm not sure there's any shortage when you include the ones that came in Lexus' if you want one. .you will find one
Theyre not hard to find, just expensive.
