yup I could tell Mike grew up in the 🇵🇭🇵🇭Philippines🇵🇭🇵🇭 during the 80's...the Bosch horn, those Hella auxiliary brake lights, the Pioneer 8-track player, that mechanical fan in the passenger seating area. this car is so period correct I'm just nodding my head in approval to the amount of detail and love he put into this build...RESPECT bro..
I know that feeling. When I visited TAM in 2014 I stood watching the off-white 2000GT hardtop spinning around for quite some time drinking in all the details. And then I went and spent just as much time staring at the equally gorgeous and awesome (in my opinion) red Sport 800 on display near it. TAM is awesome and all car people should go there if they are able, there's so much to see
My dad has this car in white, growing up we just used it as a regular family car going to church and grocery. Now that I see it all dressed up, I'm appreciating it more
So floored at the thought behind all of Mike Muniz toyota builds. Its crazy. Makes me think twice on how I want to build my cars. These Muniz Autofocus pieces are literally an experience. Thanks Larry for putting these together!
Absolutely loved this video!! Probably the best Corolla model Toyota has ever made to date! Yeah, Corolla is reliable, economical and the new ones are well made and quick, but nothing compares to this model. That's my opinion.
OMG, love this car! reminds me of time stationed on Okinawa! Friend had a Trueno, I had a Chaser, with the same damned speakers!!! I loved the car scene during the 80's in Japan. Lots of nights at the A&W. Great ride man, thanks for sharing.
Nice ride! I miss my '74 SR5. It had a 2TC motor, headers, wild Isky cam, widened SR5 rims 13x5 out back and stock up front w/ beauty rings around, MSD, electric fuel pump, racing steering wheel, shortened shifter, polished valve cover, tachometer placed right over my steering wheel column, motor carriage painted gloss black. I miss her.😄
I run duel Weber 40 IDF down drafts on my 78 Fiat spider. 1.8L DOHC with velocity stacks. You’re absolutely right. Nothing sounds like a good set of carbs. One carburetor per cylinder the way God intended.
We know this guy as Mike Muscles or Big Mike or Mad Mike. He is probably the 4th guy that i know who collects mangoes. I had 5 in our family. I had a wagon, a 4 door seda, 2 door sedan, and 2 coupes back in the day.
He is also friends with Denis, Joel Tan, Joel Lus, Raymund, and Angelo Angeles. We met Mike ages ago when our mango use to be still on the road with the Milo green color.
J.T. kept the spirit of the car when I had it, but he refined it by resourcing all the interior pieces as well as he painted it that orange that i wanted and converted it to right hand drive.
Those are solex locks for the hood right? And the center hood prop support is so clever. Mike probably have hundreds of small trick details on this car. The car is just so nicely put together. You can literally see how much passion it received. Thanks for featuring old school Jdm numba 1...lol.
I used to work at a place called Ray's Auto Electric and the owner used to rebuild the old AM tube radios and 8 tracks and install bluetooth and until he passed away he was one of the last people that rebuilt those radios
He even rebuilt a record player that was for cars and we installed it in a old Volvo and the whole turn table floated so it wouldn't skip when you hit bumps
Grew up in the Philippines 🇵🇭 and I remember the drag and slalom days in greenhills!!! So nostalgic! I wonder if there are any Mitsubishi Lancer Box Types and L types restorers out there? It wouldn’t be complete and period correct without those guys as well. Thanks Mike for sharing your rides!!!
Omg I didn’t realize this is the same big mike social with the ship horns! Get him to do a feature or at !least get him to bring out some of his bigger ship horns and turn them loose in the canyon! Please! Them shits is awesome!
If I won the lottery today, tomorrow morning I would pay Mike enough money to quit his day job forever, build me my own LHD version of this car, and a carbon copy of his rally car, and then spend the rest of his life in retirement. Everything he touches turns out perfect in every way.
Larry you should ask Mike if he plans to also restore a Sport 800 to match the 2000GT ;-) He would never fit in it to drive it, I think, but it would be awesome to see anyway, they're a super dope car
that grin Mike has on his face, he is like a proud father!!!
when i was a teenager in the philippines i can not afford that car......now im 50, i still can not afford that car LOL
I’m loving all the classic JDM cars that have been on the Channel recently! Keep up the amazing work Larry!
That "NAKO PO! BASTOS!" sticker got me 😂🤣 hard

Chen is waiting for his unicorn, the 2000gt Toyota. He's almost crying with expectation.
I know that feeling. When I visited TAM in 2014 I stood watching the off-white 2000GT hardtop spinning around for quite some time drinking in all the details. I love this guys whole vibe and you clearly see how much he loves his old toyotas. Props my man. 🔥
My dad has this car in white, growing up we just used it as a regular family car going to church and grocery. Now that I see it all dressed up, I'm appreciating it more
I remember these cars in the 1980s were so rusty and so to see one these days in NZ is a rare treat
I’m really enjoying the Corolla coverage
That was just amazing. Thoroughly enjoyed. Spectacular car. And, a bit of 2000GT sizzle at the end. Jelly
So floored at the thought behind all of Mike Muniz toyota builds. Its crazy. Makes me think twice on how I want to build my cars. These Muniz Autofocus pieces are literally an experience. Thanks Larry for putting these together!
When you hear a Filipino accent in Larry’s video, you know the build is about to be legit
Absolutely loved this video!! Probably the best Corolla model Toyota has ever made to date! Yeah, Corolla is reliable, economical and the new ones are well made and quick, but nothing compares to this model. That's my opinion.
Such a rad car. I too agree with Mr. Muniz that induction sounds better than exhaust like at 26:10. Absolute music.
Between his three videos Larry made a damn feature-length film!!!! I love it!!
I owned a '70's Corolla 5 speed fastback with the factory flares back when I was younger.
Big Mike - thanks for bringing back those great memories.
makes me want to work on my 79 after watching this. #goals
Love that Car !! I’m Puertorrican , we call that car , in my country , cocorito, or candunguito, we puertorricans we love oldschool toyotas❤️🇵🇷
I seriously admire this guy and his knowledge of TE27's and just Corolla's in general. This is what a true car enthusiast looks like folks.
Stop! ANOTHER ONE!? MIKE HAS ANOTHER ONE?! WOW!
Dude is an inspiration to me. Especially as I've recently been falling in love with Corollas.

Hey i have a 74 Te27 ! i need mikes help to finish
That was my very first car! I bought it for $600 in 1983 with a burnt clutch and a cracked valve!😂. I loved that thing!
OMG, love this car! reminds me of time stationed on Okinawa! Friend had a Trueno, I had a Chaser, with the same damned speakers!!! I loved the car scene during the 80's in Japan. Lots of nights at the A&W. Great ride man, thanks for sharing.
Absolutely love this car, I have driven one in my teens and still can feel it
looks at rally car: too dirty. looks at show car: too clean. Looks at this one: Just right
Oh my Got! Dis Pilipino accent is D best 🙏🏾🇵🇭💪🏾
The best Toyota Corolla model and it's detailed restoration done are amazing!
Man I hope one day these cars come back into production just like this
Nice ride! I miss my '74 SR5. The way his whole face is smiling when he smiles.
You could tell that he loves what he does there.
Really awesome. 🤲🏻🐒💨
Dude! Mike has some CLEAN azz Corolla's! I did a feature on one of them on my gaming channel! Good dude too. Nice video, guys.

Loved the restoration. Great video. The TS-X9 speakers are mounted incorrectly. Left to Right. The tweeters should be on the outside.
You r a true car guy bring up your car is perfect
I love that clear distributor cap.
These old corollas are amazing!
J.T. kept the spirit of the car when I had it, but he refined it by resourcing all the interior pieces as well as he painted it that orange that i wanted and converted it to right hand drive.
You can see how much the owner loves this car!!
Can't even wait for the 2000GT being restored
David Yeh Same

awesome build!! love everything the owner has done to this corolla!!

Awesome Classic Car
Grew up in the Philippines 🇵🇭 and I remember the drag and slalom days in greenhills!!! So nostalgic! I wonder if there are any Mitsubishi Lancer Box Types and L types restorers out there? It wouldn’t be complete and period correct without those guys as well. Thanks Mike for sharing your rides!!!
The box types are thriving here fortunately. The L-types are a bit rare though.
Corolla for every duty... 💯
Squash Air Freshener is a must, right under the A-track tapes.
Good stuff Larry! Thank you for the killer videos

I love those horns !
Pretty cool story ☺️
This man needs to be watching our channel :)
Pristine.....how much for a car at this level?? 35 to 40grand?
My aim with my Toyota Chaser is to maintain it like Mike has with his Corollas
If I won the lottery today, tomorrow morning I would pay Mike enough money to quit his day job forever, build me my own LHD version of this car, and a carbon copy of his rally car, and then spend the rest of his life in retirement. Everything he touches turns out perfect in every way.
For that buy a ke25 and put the 2tg engine in it
@Larry - I’m impressed that you only mentioned your beloved once in this series. 😆
Corolla Guy doesn't BEGIN to describe this vehicle
Intros👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Sympathetic wire tuck. Ima use that
Larry you should ask Mike if he plans to also restore a Sport 800 to match the 2000GT ;-) He would never fit in it to drive it, I think, but it would be awesome to see anyway, they're a super dope car
Toyotero all day!
Cool... Yeah awesome
I wish those could be available in Canada!
I do the exact same thing with coins and trinkets that I find in my restorations LOL
I think it's good Juju.. ✌😑👍
Azusa canyons 🤟🏽🤙🏽
Sweet ride ! They totally skipped over the samurai handle on the E brake
