Ni No Kuni Tips:
1. Get a bucket. Needless journeys back and forth to the bathroom will hinder your speed.
2. No health foods or sleep. KFC, pizza & High fructose corn syrup energy drinks only.
3. Ignore your body. Bleeding eyes & auditory hallucinations just means you're 'in the zone'
4. Don't play the sequel. It's trash.

Good review and description of the game. One correction though...Ni No Kuni on the Switch is simply entitled Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch. They never claimed to be releasing Ni No Kuni Remastered on the system, and the packaging never mentions it being "remastered". It was always advertised as the original game. You correctly pointed out that this is indeed a PS3 port, but made the company seem a little untrustworthy by claiming it was advertised as the Remastered version.
Rip I never knew Oliver was THIRTEEN years old, I always thought he was like 9 or 10 😂😭

This is my 3rd time buying this game PS3, PS4 Pro, and Switch it's such a masterpiece whatever I play it on and having it on the go makes it so much better I can actually go at my own pace with it instead of having to juggle multiple games at once on one system
Love this series I picked it up for PS3 years back and when they first announced they were making it for switch I decided to replay through it the fairgrounds were one of my favorite places such a wholesome but weird studio Ghibli styled game
Such an underrated game. I watched this on UA-cam when I was like, six years old but I could never get my hands on it, so glad this came out

I recently go Ni No Kuni 2 on the Pc and it's been years since I had so much fun playing a game. There's a lot and I mean ALOT of things I think could have been way better but for some reason, I love the game and the first game for me just looks way better. I will definitely pick it up it might be my second Playstation game I buy after Kh3 or i might get it on the Switch not 100% sure if i want to play it on the go or not.
Ni No Kuni is better in storyline and gameplay and the art style from Studio Ghibli is timeless.
Thanks to it’s art style it holds up tremendously well! Sadly though the switch version is just a direct port of the PS3 version whereas the PS4 and PC versions are full remasters, nonetheless it still is an amazing game whatever the platform.

Great review. I loved the game back on PS3 and happy it still holds up even after playing NNK 2. The music is amazing, especially the world map theme.
I just wish they tweaked the atrocious familiar tame rate for this remaster. It was terrible then and remains bad now. But still a great game aside from that.
Yeah, definitely wish they do some refinement, like anything at all besides just upscaling stuff 🙃

A mix of Pokémon and Tales series? Sold! 😆 I’ve been on the fence about giving this game a go but I’d like to pick it up now after watching your video. It’s too bad it’s not a full remaster but I like the portability option over updated graphics :)
Hope you have as much fun with it as I did! Knowing Namco, in a few months you might be able to pick it up on other consoles for even cheaper if you want those graphics updated :)

remastered on PS4 still sports some of the best graphics. Loved this game when it came to PS3 and loved it even more on my Ps4. What a fuckin gem.

Great review. Definitely the Switch version for me as that's the only way I can finish my games. But I won't pick it up at once as I want to finish DQXI on the Switch first. That being said, did you encounter bugs on the Switch version? I remember hearing something about the Switch version being buggy and unoptimized?
Oh damn, yeah it'll be a while before you finish DQ haha. It's really interesting, I hear more people saying playing in Switch helps them actually finish games. No issues or bugs on my end :)
@@Luisgvn That's good to hear. Missed it on the PS3 before and more RPGs to play on the Switch is definitely a good thing. But yeah, with 2 kids my PS4 has now been sitting unused for months. Last game I finished was REmake2 and I never turned it on again after that.

Most of my games are digital at this point. I own like 3 games on Switch physically.

I do have ps4 slim and Nintendo switch, with version do you suggest to get? I think it's soo cool playing this title wherever you want on switch but I'm afraid that the switch version is very low in graphic compared to the PS4 version.

How was ur n. Switch copy so far? Been hding back since a couple of reviewers mentioned that the switch port is unplayable and has a lot of glitch..
I didn't experience any issues, maybe they fixed those issues with a patch post launch

I think I would love this game but I sometimes struggle with the live action/turn based mixed combat style, would I still enjoy it? It reminds me of tales of vespiria
It’s very similar to some thing like the current Final Fantasy 7 or kingdom hearts

Mic Solace Switch version is just the PS3 version, it isn’t remastered in anyway whatsoever though if you want to play it handheld then get that version whereas PC and PS4 get 4K settings and remastered visuals and higher frame rates. Really though it’s down to what you prefer.

I bought the game for cheap on PS3 a couple years ago and didn’t make it very far through so I’m thinking of picking it up again on PC once it’s on sale!

I saw a lot of reviews (and I mean A LOT) basically say that this is a kids game, through and through, and therefore lacks the rewarding feeling of finishing a more "adult" game. Now, despite reading all of those reviews, I bought this anyway (and I bought it almost completely because the yokai watch* ppl also made this, and I thought yokai watch was fun-albeit p simple). Now, I'm not too far in it and I would like to mention that the overworld travel, in a big way, reminds me of DQ9 on DS. Idk if anybody else has played that and this and can see what I mean/agree. I am mostly talking about the way enemies are encountered and the way the resources you forage present themselves. The way it gives you a nice few shots of the town's and forests and dungeons, etc whenever you first get to them (although I suppose this is a common trait among post-pixel jrpgs
but can you change the voice cast to japanese tho?

I am so happy this game is on PS4 now, i only got to play it once on the ps3 at a friends place and it saddened me that i never got a ps3 to play it. Ni No Juni 2 disappointed me with so much of it's story so it's great to play Oliver's tale once again.

I just got this so am not watching it to avoid all spoilers, so sorry if my comment is covered in the video. PLEASE fix your thumbnail and description, it's going to mislead a lot of people! The switch version IS NOT the remaster, it's the original 30fps 720p game that came out on the ps3! It just came out the same day as the remaster did on PS4 and PC.

Such a great fit for handheld play
Ni No Kuni was originally a Japanese-exclusive Nintendo DS game（二ノ国 漆黒の魔導士）. It's quite fun, and comes in a big box that has a physical "Magic Master"/"Wizard's Companion" book.
"Wrath of the White Witch" is essentially a remaster of "Dominion of the Dark Djinn" with more story and content.
So when you say that Ni No Kuni is a perfect match for Nintendo, you are more right than you know.
My time to play games is so limited, especially with regard to long JRPGs. If you had to pick one to get on the Switch, would it be DQ11s or NNK?
I have played the demo of DQ11 and up to getting the wand from the Cat King in NNK. Both were enjoyable beyond my expectations but I’m having a hard time picking. The art-style in NNK to me has a bit of an edge bc it really feels special and I love the dark/heavy storyline at the outset. That said I don’t love the overworld map of NNK. It looks nice but feels a bit clunky and dated. In general NNK also felt slower going than DQ11 which is clearly more modern in its world exploration, battle system speed.
My current rationale is that NNK is more likely to see a sale price in the future so maybe DQ makes the most sense at full price.
Story is important to me and NNK was more interesting, less expected but I have played too little of both to really know where they are going.
Any thoughts on which game is long term more rewarding as a total experience?
I agree with DQ11 is most likely worth more for your buck while NNK will most likely see a price drop. I'd go DQ.

There was a single review that talked about the game crashing multiple times, never heard it on any other reviews, might have misled a lot of people thinking that this is one of those garbage ports like bloodstained

I'd just like to say, it kinda irritates me that the physical version on switch has a day one patch.
How come? It polishes the game.
