  • How to correct facial asymmetry with DNA and Homeoblock appliances. the Vivos DNA Appliance and the Homeoblock Devices can correct facial asymmetries by manipulating the bite area of the expanders. The balance of the jaw and facial bones can be improved if an experienced dentist knows how to diagnose the structural problems, design the orthodontic appliances. And finally, the appliance expert needs to know how adjust the appliance during the course of treatment. The Vivos or Homeoblock needs to be systematically adjusted from one appointment to the next so the facial imbalances can be corrected.

    I wish you had an office in Atlanta! Your videos are more informative and helpful than anything I've seen or read.

      Also, is there an instance when you would only a bottom expander and not a top?

      It’s important to control the growth of both jaws. So rarely do we do 1 appliance.

    Doctor you make a good video with good detail. Do you know about cases where homeoblock/vivos lengthens the maxilla? There is a pre-med student who has experienced this and it is a bad result.

      We get forward/anterior growth on a regular basis. I’m sorry to hear about the bad result.

    Hello!! Do you take patients who don't live in your city?

    • @SereneOrthodontics
      @SereneOrthodontics  Рік тому

      Absolutely. We require visits every 4-6 months and the total treatment time is usually 18 months. We have a process with phone consultation for traveling patients so you know the process and all the fees, etc. The office # is 3014211996 to schedule a phone consult. Talk to Ethan or Sia.

    These appliances sounds wonderful but what concerns everyone is a case where a patient (not yours) got worse. I would love to know what caused his outcome dr.

      The two most common reasons for poor outcomes, are poor design, and adjusting the appliance too rapidly or improperly

    So the shape of the appliance will impact how the face grows? There’s a guy who used homeoblock and got messed up pretty bad. I guess his appliance wasn’t done right but it’s scary indeed. Good video!

    do you know what causes worsened symmetry with this appliance? Seen a young fellow’s photos and he looks worse. He reports sleeping worse

    • @SereneOrthodontics
      @SereneOrthodontics  Рік тому

      That is too bad. Poor outcome is usually associated with poor design of the appliance, improper bite adjustments or adjusting the appliance too quickly or not wearing it long enough.

    Hey doc, can these appliances correct 10 mm overbite along with braces or aligners?

  • @beccamoraz
    @beccamoraz Рік тому

    As the appliance is tooth borne does it cause tooth tipping?

    • @SereneOrthodontics
      @SereneOrthodontics  Рік тому

      As long as the appliance is not expanded too quickly and the bite on the appliance is balanced. We tell out patients to let us know if there is any pain in the teeth as is normal for braces. There should never be any orthodontic pain.

    My face has been a mess for years. Under eye wrinkles. Double chin. Hooded eyes. Just overall ugly af pre mature aging look. I realize when I was 30 that I had been mouth breathing my whole life which caused my face to develop so ugly. I’ve gone hard on mewing the past year and it has made a legitimate difference but still I look bad. I wonder if this product coukd work better than mewing. This is really sad for me. My lack of proper facial development due to poor posture and mouth breathing has destroyed my social life for the last 15 years

      @SereneOrthodontics  Рік тому

      Hi John. I am sorry to hear about that. Mouth breathing can be devastating. It is a long road to getting better, but usually Mewing alone will not solve the problem. You will need some appliance therapy to help get your palate wider and your lower jaw forward. Check out all our videos and our website: marylandholisticdentist.com/

      ALF was designed with osteopathic principles. I believe that is your best bet.
