- Bimaxillary advancement surgery is also called DJS or double jaw surgery or maxillo mandibular advancement (BIMAX, DJS, MMA)… and when it is done after camouflage orthodontics, we often employ a counterclockwise rotation. What do all these terms mean? And how can we reduce the gummy smile, and facial asymmetries and our smile to facial balance that most people have anyway? Without orthodontics and with planning and exceptional surgery, technology has come long way towards giving us many complex 3D planning abilities - that help us replicate what we can do on a computer and translate into the surgical theatre. I explain Melisande’s journey through planning and a little before and after (12 days) to help show how the face can dramatically change through BIMAX surgery - done with an incredible amount of background planning and manufacturing technology. Melisande gave permission and i thank her for letting me use her images to help give a beautiful story to her journey and to help people understand how this technology may also benefit them. Melisande still has some facial swelling and later we can show her journey through the Invisalign orthodontics that can follow this surgery. All surgery was not performed requiring any braces, orthodontics or jaw widening, and she has a normal bite after surgery. Following about three months more of recovery, her dentist will provide simply Invisalign treatment for her to get a perfect smile alignment. In about 6 months I will also remove her plates. If you want to find out more on this surgery, you can purchase my bill through Amazon called 6Ways To Design A Face.
"This is was nature always wanted" Damn! deep phrase in one surgery video
Wow, 22mm lower jaw advancement. Very impressive, definitely starting to push the boundaries compared to earlier procedures
Would be nice to see a smile to compare her previous gummy smile.
I can't quite figure out how a hugely more massive jaw makes things better
Need this for my recessed maxilla
Simply amazing...must be so gratifying and so little swelling 12 days after!
She’s a wonderful person
Would love to see an update on this patient now that swelling has probably gone down considerably 😃
she's a really beautiful person
@@PaulCoceancig where are you located? I desperately need help after orthodontics ruined my face
When you widen the condiles, do you need to use bone grafts for the gap?
Hi Dr, excellent balance. Is there a risk to the TMJ by altering the angle of articulation like that? Muscles/tendons now in a slightly 'torqued' vector?
The joints need time to settle but there is perfect positioning
Amazong work doctor. Looking forward to get an appointment with you
