I don’t know which is more astounding -the fact that all of this information is just floating around Mike’s head or the fact that we have nearly unlimited access to it at the click of a button. Excellent work gents.
Whether you like them personally or not, the amount of actionable info that Dr. Mike, Menno Henselmans, Jeff Nippard, Dr Pak, Milo Wolf and a few others put out for free is just amazing. Not to mention that, as good practictioners of science, they also have no issues to talk about what they got wrong and why, and why they improved their perspectives on any given point. ❤
He's a brilliant guy who knows his shit so well he can explain it to the average person. This is a fucking super power. There's far too many people who are the opposite, they're dumb fucks who 'talk science' to build credibility.
That is very calculated and intentional for social media entertainment purposes none of his videos from a few years ago were presented this way. That being said I enjoy it was well 😌
I love these Table Talk sessions because Dave knows how to listen to his guests and interject and guide the conversation just enough. Makes for incredible interviews.
Excellent episode. Dave’s skill at keeping on topic while allowing for conversations to go places that were originally unintended is exceptional. I hope to see Dr. Mike back again.
I really enjoyed Mike's take on "most people just want you to succeed" when it comes to family and friends being skeptical about career choices. It's true that most of the time the concerns our loved ones have come from a good place. However, their concerns are really their problem. If you're passionate about something and have done your due diligence on researching your options in life....take that risk and pursue what you feel can give you an amazing and fulfilling life.
Two of my favorite lifting knowledge-givers getting together. And each bringing a different perspective to the table. I always have questions about both of their approaches, and putting them at the same table has helped clarify A LOT. Thanks!
Sometimes dreams come true. I have read just about everything RP puts out. RP diet 2.0 and the scientific principles of hypertrophy book for the win! RP has completely changed me approach to training and how I approach training others.
Wow! Please have Dr. Mike on again! Such an informative podcast; It gave a better understanding of how I should be structuring my training as a novice lifter and I think it will allow me to enjoy the process considerably more (focusing less on the weight and more on getting a proper stimulus with ideal form. Also there is so much more conversation that could have been had. Dr Mike didn't talk about nutrition at all! This could have been an 8 hour podcast and I would have listened to all of it.
Read his book 'the scientific principles of strength training', it'll be a game changer as a novice in regard to learning how to properly structure training.
@@eliteftsofficial Indeed, I've also been getting into the JM Blakely content lately. I also watched the videos on using chains and they were really helpful for making my own. You guys are a rare breed seriously, I learn a great deal from you all keep up the great content.

Thank you for this interview, Dave. I read a lot of your articles while I was in the Navy, and you actually helped me to find Dan John! And I know you know what a game changer that is. Keep up the great work, and stay healthy! You're a monolith in the community, and I want you to outlive Ozzy :)
I relate to Mike so much when it comes to getting into lifting. I started because of football, but year after year my interest for football decreased as my interest for lifting increased.
This is my favorite podcast with Mike Isratel. Thank you for going so in depth with all the information I understood all the detail the most with this one.
I love Dr Mike so much, very knowledgeable very easy to understand and his journey coming to the states is very inspiring, especially to me as a Greek who wants to get out of my country.

In reading Chinese Weightlifting Technical Mastery and Training the section that talks about bodybuilding states the goal is to have a "smooth" eccentric and "explosive" concentric when executing "bodybuilding" movements! do you happen to agree with this?
I recreationally bodybuild with the passion of a competitive guy and I LOVE when casuals ask me how much I bench and I look them right in the eye and tell them "it doesn't matter". 🤯

What a great interview, i loved the honesty about the reality of being an athleat at this level, and how it all summed up most of the concepts I've tried to learn on Mike's channel. Two very interesting guys.
I have an exercise science degree. You would be surprised how many people I graduated with don't even lift lol. Same with phys ed teachers. I go to workshops and professional development in my state and very few even work out. It's actually weird to me. Why even study this and teach this if you don't do it yourself? I don't get it.
Ya know whats funny is there's ANOTHER Dr. Mike on UA-cam who is also a Russian immigrant. Dr. Mike Varshavski. He's a medical doctor and also a boxer.
@@stvnsanders7 nope, what you said makes no sense. So a white guy who’s born in Nigeria is Nigerian, of course not, just because you were born in a nation doesn’t make you a part of their people. Also, they’re Jews not Russian which you can tell by a DNA test, a Jew’s genetics if they’re really Jewish is from the Middle East whereas a Russian’s DNA is Slavic from Eastern Europe.
