Dr. Mike looks like he’s balancing a ball on his head during this interview
Great interview though
I really enjoyed it
😅😅😅
Who says he isn’t?
😂😂 Thanks for pointing that out.. Now I can't unsee it..
You’re welcome
Asking a Hollywood trainer if his clients and potential clients are on steroids is like asking a lawyer if his clients are guilty. Mike, of course, he's going to deny it.
True , this whole conversation itself is pointless . Nobody wants a lawsuit on them . Trying too hard to portay a clean image of being a celebrity trainer
Dude says he wants bloodwork on his clients, then goes into how one had a heart attack and needed a stent.
I mean... I could see high cholesterol being an issue, but what in someone's bloodwork shows signs of an impending heart attack? I genuinely want to know. Otherwise, he's FOS.
Was literally pointless of Mike to indulge this nonsense.

Agreed. Don't blame him but the ignorance defence works agains him. Even if he didn't use them, why wouldn't he know about them. A hobbyist mechanic may not know how to pull apart an F1 engine BUT sure as hell knows what fuel it takes.
So he opened 4 gyms in the most expensive city in the US at just 20 years old?? You mean his parents right ?

@@ULTRAOutdoorsman I mean, it is
Fair enough, he just trains celebrities. He doesn't supply them with steroids or lead their PEDs programms. But doctors and clinics do...
That was what I took away too. His clients have doctors that can prescribe that stuff. They don’t need him for their gear.
Its like a few years ago when the MLB had the steroid scandal and all the athletes were like "oh we had know idea we were just going to a health clinic. " And then they just sorta swept it under the rug
He also says he has a team including doctors...
this guy isnt an honest narrator though.

Standard Hollywood response about steroids, “don’t know much about em.” Also can we see the 20 reps of 430 deadlift on video?
The deadlift thing is not actually that impressive. Maybe for the average person but not for a serious, super experienced lifter. Have to account for the fact he's been training hard consistently for 20+ years, and is rich. He can afford the best quality food, supplements, doctors, physical therpists, massages, and all the best cutting edge fitness equipment and fitness related modalities. Do that for that long and anybody can hit that deadlift
bro I could do like 10 reps at 430 right now and I'm not even really deadlifting much these days.
@@user-uy3tm9ee5l430 isn't that impressive but 20 reps though? i'm not saying it's impossible but the world record for 405 is/was like 50 reps so 430 for 20 seems pretty wild. Happy to eat my words if it is there is a video floating around.

Absolutely delusional.
Yeah I don’t think it’s that crazy either.
So, you say the "truth about steroids in Hollywood" and yet...
Yeah not a lot about this. Just nebulous " Drs" and "creatine".
I don't know anyone that randomly takes bloods.
During the conversation, he brings up Chris Hemsworth as a "this guy has trained for a long time" sidestory.
Amazing.
@@wesleylang172 He was talking about creatine when he was talking about Ryan Reynolds, who is imo unlikely juicing. The fact that he doens't know anything about steroids can 100% be true. Obviously he knows some of his clients are juicing but that doesnt mean he is involved in that aspect. He is a coach. Also when Mike brought up steroids I kinda feel like he had this "I cant really talk about this, but I know what you're trying to say" energy
@@wesleylang172had a good laugh to consider Chris hemsworth never had any background with athletics other than having a modeling career before acting. Than here’s the fact that he gained a godlike physique in his late 30s while his prime he’s just, tall and normal physique. Trained for a long time is the dumbest someone can ever say without being specific. No matter how long you’ve trained you don’t get an Arnold physique naturally nor build muscles with that mass and be toned within a year without enhancement
Yeah, I'm not sure what this conversation had to do with steroids. I would have to say click bait.

The trainer for Hugh Jackman, one of the world's most visible steroid users, "doesn't know that much" about steroids. Sure, sure. I get why Dr. Mike didn't ask any direct questions to this guy but that's a ridiculous statement.
Yeah I was curious if he was gonna get into it and clearly didn't. Trying to say people need to own it, lol okay.
He trained hugh for the first xmen movie, hugh looked like shit in that movie and got on gear for x2
@@brendanjahoda5450 He said for Wolverine and Australia, not X-Men 1. Given that Australia came out in 2008 and X-Men Origins: Wolverine was 2009, I'm guessing he meant the origins movie, not the 2013 "The Wolverine". Hugh wasn't very big in X2 either. It was during the timeframe when this guy says he trained him that he basically doubled in size. He was super jacked in Australia as well.
Hugh was like 6’1” 185. He was never big at all. He just looked big on screen because he was lean.
Hugh Jackman is also 6’3 190-205.
If anyone thinks that’s unnatural you’re delusional. He’s not that strong, he doesn’t have a tremendous amount of mass…he’s just shredded.
It’s not that hard to get shredded if you know what you’re doing.
I enjoyed seeing the difference in how a PhD in exercise science speaks about health/fitness and how a celebrity trainer speaks about it.
This guy seems really shady. The way he overreacts to more stressful questions shows that he's likely hiding something, the way he embellishes his speech and the way he moves while he's doing it. I had to stop the video because it just seems like he's talking a bunch of bs.
He's a bullshitter. He's was handed daddy's money to start gyms and then got lucky his buddy knew Hugh Jackman and passed him off to him. I'm sure he's an OK trainer(not saying much considering most trainers are shit) but he's probably worried that Mike would go in depth on actual training. He would be exposed as mediocre, lucky Mike was more focused on the topic of the celebrity training industry itself instead of actual training.
I thought the same thing. There's something fake about this guy. Classic Hollywood.
It is not his fault ok? He is from NY
he SCREAMS "im from LA". Everything about him screams industry... especially the way he speaks twice as loudly as Dr Mike during the whole thing, despite being mic'd.
Lol, armchair psychologist and body language expert. You know that even 'experts' in detecting lies don't perform much better than chance, right? It's a pseudoscience. You have zero idea whether he's hiding something.

I’m laughing at the intro based on Dr Mike’s long history of destroying celebrity workouts, celebrity trainers, and the whole celebrity fitness situation

Everytime he mentions swinging a Kettlebell i smile as i know what Dr. Mike would say if he was reviewing this.
Yeah he doesn't want to give up his customers who are pretty much all on gear.
He claims natural but buddy sounds like he took about 5 lines of cocaine before coming onto this podcast.
930 at 46.. yeah ok buddy 🤣🤣🤣
Nobody thinks the studio provides doctors or steroids or specific trainers, absolutely no one.
They know there is a required look for whatever the role may be and will achieve that through their own doctors.
I'm not one of them, but I have seen several people who think big studios like Marvel have doctor on the payroll for this kind of thing. The actors finding their trainers through word of mouth makes more sense, but with how controlling studios can be it's not unreasonable to assume they handle that as well.
The studio doesn't literally provide them with a guy, but they do have the contacts for guys who and give them gains they need to make that sure don't look natty.
“I’m not on anything but my test is 930 at 47…” 🤔

You people are brainwashed about steroids, thinking they arent as powerful as they really are.
Stopped watching as soon as the dude says he doesn't know anything about steroids. Claims that Ryan Reynolds uses Glutamine and BCAAs "when needed". Some right bullshit being spouted here.
I stopped watching when this dude said the most in shape guy from 300 would place dead last in a natural body building contest. Like, come on those dudes had great physiques. It's why they're all shirtless instead of wearing historically accurate chest plates for armour.
I feel like this was actually just Mike asking for how he can get into the celebrity training game and we got to watch.
Love it when the answer to a question is more questions... "Why would I go on TRT?? My test is at 930 recently!" Lol this dude...
Buddy was asking why would he do it twice?
1. Mike has this guy convinced that he's really interested in what he's saying. This is fitness content gold.
2. Theres a lot of weird people in Hollywood that just come off like bullshititting fronts. Who is this human construct?
The more he talked the more shit came out. 😂 Started out with some plausible tbings and then quickly spiraled in to complete bullshit 😂
Honestly, while he might be about 90% truthful, which for Hollywood associated folks is commendable, I do think he’s on TRT, you’re not over 900 after 40 without assistance, meanwhile he’s trying to throw shade on others, while patting himself on the back, I’ve seen this before
The bullshit detector went off for like an hour straight. Love you Dr. Mike but your channel is too good for this.
Asking a celebrity trainer if his clients are on steroids is like asking if he wants to pull the plug on his career. I don't even fault him for giving a bullshit answer, he has nothing to gain and literally everything to lose. And besides, we already know the answer.
T levels over 900 at almost 50 years old, naturally, of course.
430 for 20, just a specimen of a man

Its deadlift tho
Even at 15 reps that's an estimated 645 1rm. If people think this dude can DL 645 at this bw while "natty", I have beachfront property in Arizona to sell them
@@--SPQR-- At that many reps a 1RM calculator is going to be pretty inaccurate, so 645 is definitely not his 1RM. To his credit he looks built to deadlift and he's on the skinnier side, so 430 for a lot of reps may not be too much of an exaggeration. Especially if he focuses on the deadlift the most, as many skinny guys do, because it's the only lift they're naturally good at.

Using Steroids can get you into criminal trouble in the US. So of course this guy will say his guys don't use
Don't forget, Marvel movies are marketed as being wholesome entertainment your kids can watch. No one wants their kids imitating their favourite actor by doing steroids. The studio stands a lot to lose by admitting it.

Ive been trained to react negatively to the name "Saladino". This dude is dope
This is not the "Sauna is the same as eating vegetables guy"?
I'm sure a lot of things that makes people say "Wtf is this trainer doing" may sometimes come down to the fact that these trainers are often dealing with super eccentric people and actors, who just think they know better, don't actually want to be told what to do, or just dont't wanna work hard at all in the gym (The Kardashian "workout" comes to mind)
Also a bunch of actors who are ripped previously stated they have no desire for the sport or fun in it and only see it as a job/must. I'm sure that's a factor too

Dr Mike love the content on your channel-one thing I’d love it if you could cover with a short episode-how do lifting mechanics differ based on lever size ie do certain exercises hit taller and shorter people differently? are taller athletes more subject to lifting injuries? He is right about the celebrity trainer thing in terms of how you become one. It's the same thing when a martial arts place claims they "train law enforcement". I really appreciate the portion where he spoke about the obese clients with whom he is working for years to make a lasting progress. About a year ago, I was 450 lbs, after about 300 days I began to plateau at around 385 with just intermittent fasting, so I began powerlifting (because I enjoy it and I have the requisite equipment in my garage). I'm still around 385 but I am much stronger and my measurements are going down. It is frustrating to not see the weight loss but it helps to see and feel the strength increases. It's also nice to know that slow progress is still good progress. That really helps. Thank you.

That Alan guy from reacher was claiming natty when he obviously was not. Said the same old bs I train so hard, he doesn't and he eats perfect, been doing it for ever. Everyone called him out. A year or two later he comes out with the bs that he trained so hard it crashed his T and he needed trt. He has been on it for a long time and he's still lying about how much he takes.
If you trained that hard and used TRT you're literally using a PED. The whole point is for faster gains and faster, stronger recovery. Most people can't get that shredded/big not just because they've hit the peak of what their body can physically achieve naturally but because training to the level necessary to get to the absolute peak of what the body can do just can't be obtained due to physical exhaustion and wear and tear.
