One of the most impressive things about this is how exceptionally good at extemporaneous speaking Dr Mike is. No filler, just good quality communication.
I love this guy.. I don’t know if he’s gone through some really tough stuff that taught him to approach life with whimsy, or he’s always just been a happy dude.. but it’s contagious.
Thank you. That first question/answer helped a ton. My husband tore his meniscus and got the “all-clear” to do full ROM last week. This week at physical therapy, he could barely walk out of the office but I assured him it was normal (no joint/tendon/etc pain). He was so discouraged but your advice made him feel better.
You should stream the chat box in split screen like Chase Irons livestream. Helps keep people feeling connected with the group vs just watching individually
00:03:02....Bed ridden....I remembered having to reconstruct my ACL right knee and a trainer had advised me to work the shit out of that right quad leading (I did 3 months) into the surgery, and I got to say it worked boi, cause I did see others along side me in therapy and I was glad I took the trainer's advice.
Thanks for answering my question doc, appreciate the advice! Currently a teacher, but in the last few years been thinking about becoming a personal trainer with all you guys have taught me. May stick with teaching to see if my lack of passion is just a valley in the journey, so we'll see!
37:20 I recently bought Do-Win lifting shoes, which are kick ass but only .75" heel, I use versa lifts in them as well. If I were to buy another pair, it would be from Nordiclifting and I would get the Megins 1.4" heel
Good advice, I do ease in. Horrible ankle ROM and used to do PL style squats and almost never feel my quads really. This knee flexion shit is the bomb.
Late to the party, but your advice for treating mental illness as THE priority instead of an extraneous issue is appreciated. You can't commit to anything if you aren't in the right headspace. Thanks for that.
ur streams are gold bro omg this can be soo goodo omg ur amazing dude thank you and everything and bless mc gregor for coming in like a normal guy i think thats cool
Dr Mike Thank you for the carb deplete answer. I'll have to play more with more carbs. I was intake 1200, 700,400 for three days in test loading carbs. Yes I am super active 😅
Honestly, an early model year Gallardo as a man's Lamborghini dream is quite modest. Some Norwegian guy should just superchat Mike a Gallardo to be honest.
Doc, is a 3+ second eccentric on every lift a feasible strategy long term to increase gains especially in areas with weak mind muscle connection? Love the content
Walking is hard on my knees but riding a bike really lets me get the good good cardio in so anyone with legitimate joint fatigue biking is a great alternative just remember good posture because you can really stress your lower back
How long should I try a new progression before calling it quits? An entire block? I went from rep progression (315 3x3, 3x4, 3x5,3x6 deload) to now weight progressson (315 3x3, 320 3x3, 325 3x3 deload) and I feel as though rep progression worked better for me. Thoughts?
Love the advices. One thing, I think, should be addressed about the headaches during a workout would be adequate sodium. People who are low on sodium tend to get dizzy and experience headaches during workouts.
Question about "backburning" body parts. The muscle groups I take down to maintenance during the next few mesos, should I be keeping these around 2-3 RIR or progressing the 4 or so sets per group all the way from 3 RIR to failure still?
Dr. Mike I’ve been working out for about a month and a half now I used to feel really sore after the workouts in the beginning and now I’m not feeling sore but I’m pushing my self to failure / 1 rep in the tank am I still building muscle and having effective workouts even though I’m not sore after
Had a work injury and had numerous surgeries and right arm was immobilized for almost 3 years. This was 7 years ago. Everything came back except for my lat. It has grown but it’s significantly smaller than the other. How do I fix this or am I just screwed?
To some extent yes. I was hit by a car over 10 years ago and similar thing, 7 surgeries on my left arm and in a full arm cast for nearly 3 years straight and to this day its just not able to get full strength or mobility back. I just had to accept that I won't be able to match my good side so o dropped back on both arms and I'm still trying to get better every day
Good afternoon Dr Mike I had a question about gear I'm 38 years old and I just want to be huge for no reason you would be a good starter that doesn't involve needles? I train 5 to 6 times a week.still intermediate but been training off n on last 5 years trying to get serious about it because as I said I want to be huge but also pushing 40😅
ive lost maybe 8lbs or so. pull ups strength went up, bench went from 135x10 to 95x10. last few weeks starting including squats and deads more into my week. is this normal
One of the most impressive things about this is how exceptionally good at extemporaneous speaking Dr Mike is. No filler, just good quality communication.
Right? It's like his brain writes scripted videos live
The ability to do this as well as convey complex topics as extremely stupid analogies is the sign of someone who understands what they are saying

He is a college professor so...

I can’t believe you’re so off-the-cuff hilarious. I thought maybe some of those jokes were planned before, but you’re just naturally super funny
Dr Mike calling himself bald*ing* is the greatest bit of optimism I've ever heard.
(big eye staring to the side emojis) - Dr. Mike
Lmao! But in his defense he shaves it so you really can’t tell. He should let it grow out next time he lets his shoulders grow out 😂
@@RenaissancePeriodization 😂
Mike, you’re like four years older than me, yet you look like you’re 50 what’s going on here?
LMAOOOO
you can notice the exact second the man's brain goes from comedic to teaching mode. The man's a legend.
Doc, thx for taking time out of your schedule to chat with us! It was fun, I hope you enjoyed yourself.
My pleasure! I had a great time and am excited for the next one! - Dr. Mike
Mike is one step closer to that lambo after this stream, so happy for him

So he was prescribed to do full rom on the knee at physical therapy if i understand correctly?
@@northpaul3276 his surgeon did.
Best wishes to him!!! - Dr. Mike
You gotta make these more often they’re amazing

Tried the skullcrusher tip today and it blew my arms up- my triceps hate you but I have nothing but love
Love that this is being shared with the masses. Also love that you said something nice about your sister.
You should stream the chat box in split screen like Chase Irons livestream. Helps keep people feeling connected with the group vs just watching individually
It's the real peoples champ

This was just soooo good! Great Qs and even better answers
Guy's so concerned that they got the donation, but didn't get to the question: just another example of how rad this crew is.
Would be awesome if this became a regular thing!!

Sad I missed it. Please do another in the future

it happened in strongman too , the arm breaking
is it true that the body burns more calories processing protein than their is in protein ? can this be used to lose weight ?

Wow, bummed I missed the live, but this is a damn gold mine of information! Thanks Dr Mike!

Where do I get that shirt?
Scott the video guy lol every time that’s how you refer him to just habit
How do we pay for superchat so our questions can be answered
Does that Tshirt come free with Lambo purchase?
Doc with all due respect but how 4-5 sets per workout which is probably at least 8-10 sets a week can be just maintenance volume?! 7:54
18:35 bro 💀 when he balled his fists and unballed them, it sounded like a fucking skyrim draugr walking around 😂😂😂
