Funny how many little things we have in common - for instance, I started dating my husband in 1997 as well. I tend to run late all the time & end up rushing around the house like a mad woman. Oh, and I ADORE wine! (Then again, who doesn't?)
My great grandpa was a Baptist minister and I grew up in church. My parents always sang in church. I love your family history!! Thats such a wonderful history. I am a non denominational christian also.

I already loved your channel but getting to know you more has made me just love this channel all the more. I'm a pastors daughter as well and come from a long line of ministers. My grandparents are absolutely amazing and I love them dearly. My grandpa just retired a few years back (in his 80's) from pastoring. He and my grandma are such beautiful people. You really pulled on my heart strings talking about your grandparents.. My dad's mother (Grandmomma Pearlie) and my mother's father (Grandaddy Solomon) were so good to me! They just dont make em like that anymore.. I miss them dearly and I think of them often especially now that I'm in my forties.
The palmetto bug story was so funny!! My family is from California and we moved to southern Georgia over 16 years ago. We did not have those huge nasty bugs that I knew of in Northern California. How ever they are very common out door tree living huge flying palmetto/tree roach things that freak me out!!!!! I to run screaming if I see one to this day while working in my yard or garden and they once in a while fly off of a distant tree ugh!! Good grief they would even fly in to the pool. My little girl was like mom check the pool. My husband got so tired of us freaking out that he and our adult son's removed all the trees any where near the pool or to close to our house this made the best difference!! I love your video's.
I can relate to so many things, especially camping. I hate camping! I'm afraid of animals in the night. It's so refreshing to see someone on UA-cam that is my age and that is so real. Thank you for taking the time to post videos.

I did something I usually don't do. I watched a long video in one sitting, and enjoyed every minute of it. Even though I am 20 years older than you, we have many, many similarities. I never pull, and tug around my eyes, and don't like to sit still long enough to have a manicure, and pedicure. I've never had a professional massage, and don't want one. I could go on, and on, but I won't Jenifer. You look beautiful, as always. I enjoyed all of the pictures you shared with us. You, and your family definitely carry the beauty gene. One of your best videos. I can relate to the camping. I grew up in the Philippines, & we went camping by the beach so much when I was young. I still remember moving to the caves once because of torrential rain. I did love the day time, but not the sleeping part. Beautiful family.
Hi! I'm so glad I found you! There's not a lot of us over-40 ladies on here doing videos. I enjoyed listening to your story, and found it inspiring. I'm also a mom and my daughter and step-son are grown and starting their own lives. It's bitter sweet to know my job is mostly done!
P.s. Love how you are proud of your family, parents, grandparents. I bet your husband is really sweet, too. Think coming from such a good family makes you so darn sweet. And my grown sons are so good to me that they bought Me a new Mercedes for this past Christmas! I was driving my Volvo, but it was getting to be 7 years old, so guess they wanted me to have something new! They bought me a new roof for my birthday, the following month, in January!!! I have a 110 year old Victorian house, and was needing a new roof! They are very, very good to me. I love them and LOVED them from the moment they were born to bits and pieces. The best thing I ever did in life was to be the #1 Mother in the Universe! And guess they want to tell me and show me their appreciation, possibly.
I am divorced for 30+ years, as I NEVER found anyone as good as my ex husband was, and I WAS THE ONE WHO THOUGHT I WANTED TO SPLIT FOR A WHILE!!!!! Biggest regret in my life. I live with this regret every moment of every day of my life. He was SO in love with me, I could do no wrong, I was, to Him, the most Beautiful woman, etc. So, I ask God every day WHY? And why me? And what did I do to have lost him??? But, once I moved out, I thought it would be just for a 6 month period, then I would want to go back and I would appreciate him more, but...He got snatched up with the prettiest woman EVER, and he needed someone who wanted him, too. So, they dated for 15 years before he asked her to marry him. And I just had to move away (but close enough for us to maintain joint custody). And I NEVER could love anyone ever again! I am hoping someone will read this and NOT do what I did. The Grass Is Not Greener on the Other Side, People!!! Hold onto your man because if you don't, someone else will fall for him and He, too will fall out of love with YOU and you will lose him forever. At the time, you think you won't care, but just wait til he begins having feelings for someone else! You want to know what pain is? To lose your best-est friend you ever had??? It's pure Hell. Most people in the world can move on. I have not been so lucky. I still cry every day, am on MANY meds to maintain the little sanity I have left, (my sons, daughter-in-laws, and my grandchildren keep me wanting to stay around and live) and the Many pills I must take to fall asleep every night, not having the same nightmare over and over, etc. The doctors said that I definitely had a Traumatic Experience, since my LIfe was SO GOOD, ( I married into old money) that the struggles I had to go through to maintain a life on my own, keep the children in a manner to which they were accustomed to, received no money at all, since I instigated the separation! I had to get a job and had never worked in my life, and did not finish college! I had one year left, but since then over the years, I went back and got my degree. But the degree doesn't help women That much in finding a well paying job, trust me. But God was with me every step of the day! He found me jobs that I barely had to know anything! And they paid well enough to keep my boys happy and a decent life. But when they went to their dad's, you can imagine how much of a better life they had with him, tho they never complained once in all those years, they would come back to me, loving me just as much as they did their dad. WE found fun places to go for vacations, and the odd weekend trips with my parents. I loved them so much, that on nights that I didn't have them, I would be shopping and preparing their favorite meals and treats, so they were delighted to come back to mom's! Since I always felt that I broke up the family unit, and because of me they lost a FABULOUS FAMILY THEY WOULD HAVE HAD WITH THEIR MOM AND DAD AND THEM, ALL of us living together...This is another reason I can't get better, now.
So, please please, everyone, do all in your power to keep your marriages together, for the kids sake. IF you think you just can't stand Him, think again. Think of your children and what their lives will be like on a daily basis. Oh, and when I moved out...thinking we would still have meals all together, etc. that only lasts a couple of times. You do NOT remain friends! You end up hating each other. My ex hated me so much, and fell out of love with me so fast, that he began trying to take full custody of my children! HE did this for 11 years. And he put them in great boarding schools when they were in 9th grade, each, just so he could be a complete ASS and date freely. He had no problem living without the boys! I, on the other hand, died inside! They were sent very far away. And it cost me a small fortune just to go visit on parent weekends, I was always on my own, as he had many friends to sit with at ball games, parties, family get-togethers. I would have to go back to my hotel room and sit and just cry. Those times were Hell on Earth. Oh the stories I have that would curl your hair.
Jennifer, please forgive me for overtaking your channel to tell this story, but after you talked about how great your family was, It hit my heart and my fingers just took over. I am telling it the way my heart is pouring it out. Just in the instance someone is out there hurting. I have been a member of a National group called "Mothers Without Custody" and how the long term effects hurt us moms so bad. How the men weekly, have their attorneys send out harrassing letters, to arrive late in the afternoons, every Friday, so as not to be able to call your own attorney to scream for help, always threatening to take Full Custody of children. Telling you all the things you have done the previous week that makes being with moms a bad place to be, and so on and so on. I will close now, and Please forgive me but I just had to send this.
Maybe One of you women know of a woman who lost custody or half custody, be nice to her. You have NO IDEA how terribly devastaingly hard her life is. Be good to her, but don't say why. Befriend her, as ALL former and past friends stick with the man who has the money. She has lost just about everything. Love her, or just be kind to her. Make her feel that you are willing to be her friend. Many thanks to anyone of you who kept along with my story, and read down to the end. And to you women who think I am crazy...I AM! But I must keep going on with life because I have people who DO love me. God Bless everyone! And especially to You, Jennifer. I know you don't get ANY comments like this one!!! Danna, thank you for sharing so much with all of us.🌺 I know it's not always easy to share sensitive and personal information like that, but I know you're doing it in an effort to discourage other women (and men) from making some of the same mistakes you feel like you've made. It makes me sad that you feel like you've had to live with regret for so long, but it sounds like you are a wonderful mom and a kind and thoughtful person. I think it's so sweet that you planned and prepared nice things for your children to come home to. I bet they felt so welcomed and so loved! Clearly they love their momma!!! And they certainly like to spoil you! 💙 And I don't think you're crazy at all! I just pray that you can learn to let go of any regrets you may have and stop blaming yourself for past feelings and decisions. 30 yrs is a long time to hold on to those things. Let them go and allow the "law of attraction" to work in your favor. 😊💖

We have 5 children - 3 sons, 2 daughters and also 3 grandchildren. I homeschooled all five children for 20 years. And you are so right being a mom is the best job you could ever have. I am sure glad we don't have giant cockroaches here in PA!! LOL I am also a cat lover, we have three right now. We had one that died a few years ago at the age of 15. Wish I could share a cool and crazy story about her, but would take too long to type and my comments always seem too long. Sorry about that. And last but not least, I am so thankful for all you Christian women here on You Tube.

I have the same issue, my eyelids don't match. One is higher than the other.
We have a lot in common! I literally just did a 50% Glycolic Peel this afternoon. 😄 You are so sweet! I'm actually looking into Thermage for eyelids now. Someone mentioned in my comment section that they get it once a year and they've seen so much improvement in their eyelids. ❤️
I love wine as well! Especially Pinot noir. And yes I too wake up the next morning and read my notifications and am surprised and sometimes a little embarrassed. Ha!
We're the same I will not blend my shadow let alone wear it.I carry all my makeup in my purse,I love coffee and hate eating breakfast! I have to force myself to eat half the time.I do binge at night tho.I'm 5'3 too lol.
Love, love, love this video! There are so many similarities between us. I am almost 45 & have the same hooded eye issues too. Lately I have just stopped using eyeliner & shadow because it has been so frustrating. So, now I feel like my eyes look brighter without all of that...and it has decreased my makeup time a lot. I also use CG pressed powder as a bronzer for the same reasons. I have only had 2 boyfriends my entire life...and we will be married 25 yrs this May. Family is a huge part of my life. I have cousins that should be my sisters just because we are so very close. My 3 kids are my world....and I LOVE being a Mom...I feel like being a Mom is the one job I have done really well...and am so proud of them. Thxs for being so authentic...hugs..Erica

Oh and we have soooo much in common. Basically I am DEATHLY afraid of roaches to the point of being crazy too!!! My birthday is in July and I have an 11 year old daughter and 8 year old son....I also have a 15 year old son...I had him at 23 so I was super young. I hate being tickled too!!! My husband learned the hard way how bad I hated it, I feel like someone is forcing me or holding me down. I'm not a huge breakfast person either, I do protein shakes in the morning now. But I used to do hazelnut coffee on my way to work.

The relationship you had with your grandparents is wonderful, I also had a wonderful relationship with my Grandmama Haygood. She was my mentor and my best friend, I miss her dearly. I took that job when my kids were in school so I could enjoy being with them during the summers. I am from Alabama. I am not a wine drinker but I do enjoy an occasional wine cooler. I literally laughed out loud when you said your motto was: "It's better to arrive late than to arrive ugly!" I might have to share that! Not only is that hilarious, but I feel the same way!!
I had to pause your video and comment, because I DIED LAUGHING at your description of roaches! When you started talking about them flying, and "their wings all out and their big body just dangling there..." I absolutely busted out laughing! While I don't have quite as strong a fear as you do, I'll definitely steer clear of them. When I was very young, I went into the bathroom in my house. It was pretty small bathroom, so there wasn't anywhere to "escape" when the big, black roach on the wall took flight and landed square on my stomach. 😱(Thankfully I had my pjs on, so there was a tiny bit of a barrier between it and my skin.) I can still hear my scream in my head. LOL I don't know how I manage to not have a pretty serious phobia, but I've learned to not ask why and just be grateful! I don't do ANY bug with long, spindly legs, so I won't even start on crickets/grasshoppers. 😣
Amen about the camping! I hate to camp, it's my personal Hell. I love the makeup.

I think I found your channel because I am just starting my Retin A journey - week 3 starting with .025% - went to twice a week this week after no tightness or flaking the first 2 weeks. Followed your plan of starting on Friday. Lol This week went Tuesday and still nothing...will do Friday for the 2nd time this week. Thanks so much for that video that you showed day by day what to expect and I picked up the Derm E Glycolic Toner and also the 2 minute Cellex one Brianna recommended to get rid of the flaky skin and using SPF 50 everyday. Anyway, I am really glad to have found this to learn more about you. That is always the fun part. It seems a lot of us dislike some of the same things...breakfast, talking on the phone, cockroaches, coloring the grey hairs and getting my nails done (for work), trying to sleep on our back, etc. 😂 Nice to meet you, Jenifer or do you prefer Jen?
What a fun video. I can relate to your office roach story. Years ago when I worked in a law office, There was a ginormous roach right under my chair. I screamed bloody murder and one of the attorneys came out of his office, took his shoe off, and smacked the sucker. OMG the mess. Scary bugs they are. The ones where I live do not fly - thank goodness. TFS!!

I could totally relate to your love affair with wine. Napa is one of my most favorite places to be in the moment. Nothing like a wonderful glass of wine to reminisce experiences or figure life out (because of course we do). So many similarities between you and me, although I am 5 years older. My children are my world and raising them was my all time favorite thing to do in this world. They are now 24, 22 and 19, but they are all very close to me. We have the same hooded eyelids, which I have a hard time with. I love your subtle looks, I am all about looking subtle, but definitely NEED makeup! I love watching your videos and listening to your tips and stories. Thank you! Oh, and I have never had a one night stand either, nope, not ever! I am always late too. (My license plate says "IML8-") I've tried to change that about me, but it's never going to happen.
