I have listened to Hogan, Jarrett, Russo, Booker, Eric, and others discuss this situation for years. No two accounts are the same, but from what I can discern, it is clear to me that everyone but Hogan and Eric were on board with Russo's plan. I think they just placated Eric and Hogan long enough to get to where they wanted to go, and work around Hogan's creative control clause. The fact that there were no repercussions on Russo for doing this clearly indicates that the VIPs were on board with what Russo was doing. As much as I personally can't stand Russo, I don't think he went into business for himself. I think everyone but Hogan and Eric knew what he was going to do. If they didn't, they wouldn't have kept Russo after an incident like that.
I believe Eric here because Russo did the exact same thing to Jim Cornette in TNA and that's the main reason Corny hates Russo's guts ..... Whether you like Cornette or not the man is honest and you may not like his opinion or take on a subject but it's his honest opinion. If you look up the definition of brutally honest there is going to be a picture of Jim Cornette
When I unfortunately had to work with Vince Russo, he wanted us to fake arguments, and thought that our audience believed wrestling was real.

In the end what does it matter what either one of you want to do when Hulk has creative control. Russo can’t make Hulk do anything he doesn’t want too. He has final say in his storyline

After watching loads of Erics podcasts and Vinces i have to say both obviously have things about them that look like they are both lying about certain subjects but Eric comes off as way more genuine and doesnt hide who he is ! Your podcasts especially the ones on your own are very engaging
