I said from the beginning Eric was on the money from the beginning. People thought he was insulting Punk, he was pointing out the obvious
Not even Stone Cold(well maybe Stone Cold) could save that place.

You know me, I don't like to put myself over in those kinds of answers, but that match was pretty close to... in spite of Dave Meltzer only giving it four stars. I don't remember him taking too many bumps. I don't really have a lot of stock in what he says. I can't even believe I just gave him credit. I did say his name, and I'm regretting that right now. We might have to edit that out."
That's what Undertaker said about Meltzer. If all these people say it's true, there has to be some validity to it.

Not enough people are talking about the NDA implications in the interview. Punk emphasizes *he* isn't the one who has something to hide from the NDA and didn't ask for it. Ariel asks Punk if his tricep injury was from the incident that night or the match. Punk pauses, is rarely quiet for a moment, and then shrugs. Punk also says his dog Larry had his back that night and suggests something involving the dog in the NDA.
If the Bucks or Kenny caused Punk's injury, hurt his dog, or otherwise provoked the fight, that is absolutely the reason why Tony wanted an NDA.

Everyone calls it “the business” but God forbid you actually treat it like one or you get what we have with Punk here. A true professional in a room full of hobbyists that also doesn’t suffer fools.
Too many geeks, dorks and theatre kids on the wrong side of the guardrail and the actual athletes and tough dudes are taking a backseat to them because of poor management and that’s happening at every level of wrestling.

@@shanestephens4728 Your identification of the various personalities running AEW are accurate. Punk, however, is not a "true professional." He's a whiny, entitled brat who was never that good in the ring (his move-set makes ZERO sense for his build, for example), or on the mic as he would get crickets during big speeches; he was given a glorious title reign and a winning record over John Cena at PPV events, and yet he still complained about it. He kept complaining about it for years after, like Brett and the Montreal gig, only Punk was never screwed and no one corroborated his stories. Then he came crawling back to wrestling when he had nothing going for him anywhere else and people treat him like a conquering hero. He goes for low-hanging fruit and people thing he's "telling it like it is." Now he's low-energy and slow but we're hoping for, what - a big main event with him at some point?

I just don’t agree with the punk won’t move the needle. All the proof shows he absolutely did both at aew and wwe. Aew was relevant before, he helped build MJF, he broke ticket sale records, and Aew received a deal based on punk being there

Punk trashed the company while sitting next to the owner and eating a muffin, then knocked out one of the Vice Presidents of the company. The dude is a legend. CM Punk is my hero. C M PUNK! C M PUNK! C M PUNK!

Opinions are one thing, everyone has one and can express as they feel. Nothing wrong at all with that.
"Not moving the needle" however comes under facts since the ratings, live attendance, merch sales etc. is actually reported. And Punk clearly moved that needle by a very noticeable margin that is even clearer now after he left AEW.

I agree with most of what Eric said except the needle mover comment. Punk absolutely moved the needle and the ratings tanked when he left.

I literally just said this to my bro, an hour before this video dropped, after we discussed the interview. 100% truth.

Only thing I disagree with here is Eric saying Punk isn’t a needle mover. That’s been proven wrong multiple times. AEW’s best figures and quarter hours pretty much all involve CM Punk
