I stacked my washer and dryer but needed my dryer to open from right to left. After watching this video, I successfully reversed the door to my Whirlpool dryer model WED6605MW. It took about 15 min to complete. Thank you!
I thought "How hard could switching a door side be?" I switched the latches, and one side hit the frame and wouldn't close. So I googled dryer door reversal and saw this video. Very well done. Though I'm thinking this is so convoluted and poor design by whirlpool. I had no idea how true that would be. My model also has a slight egg-shaped door, so there's a top and bottom as well as right and left. I'd like to have been in the room when they were working this one through. I had to do this reversal twice because the way the dryer door flipped, it was wrong the first time with the top and bottom reversed and I literally had to switch the latches again and in a slightly different way to make the door fit back on the dryer... I've rarely cursed as much as I did on this. But thank you for getting me halfway there and making opening up the door itself not so intimidating. I probably saved $200-300 on a tech. Thank you!
Thank you W Service! After watching your video, I changed my door hinge sides with confidence and ease. Even though your video is 2 yrs old, my door was exactly the same that just got delivered yesterday, but without the electronics in the door. 🙏🏼🙏🏼 I am also an industrial designer and the door assembly is terrible in the complications they put into it of which could be so much better and you would have thought improved a little each year! Thanks again!
Very helpful, worked for me. Took maybe 20 minutes. It's not difficult at all, but you do need a Phillips screwdriver, T20, T25 bit for the star screws
As an engineer, I think about saving money and time on procedures like this. There are two extra parts that could have been reduced with a much simpler door-switching process. The only thing that I can think of is that Whirlpool is discouraging the average consumer that doesn't have Tork drivers and is not very savvy doing stuff like this.
Jesus Christ could they not make this harder and more complicated to do?!? I was gonna do this to make it easier to move clothes from the washer right into the dryer, but F it. 🤦♂️🤔🤬

What a weird design! I am in the same situation right now
Lollllll facts!!!! This is the most accurate comment

That is a major fail Whirlpool! Every other manufacturer has you beat on reversing the door.
This really helped me! Thanks a heap! I appreciate you having made this very easy-to-follow vid!
Thank you! Made a bad situation much easier. Laundry is back in session!
I mean, it works and I did it..... but damn. Could've been an easier way.
If my dryer has the door lock feature can I still reverse the door swing?
is the wire in the other side to hook the door back up??? you never showed that process it just magickly appeared on the other side....
Piece of cake! Thanks!
This is so ridiculous. Not consumer friendly at all. It's baffling to me how this passed testing with a small group of people.
Very helpful thankful, thank you!
What kind of idiots would make it so hard to flip a door? I so regret buying Whirlpool - nothing but problems since we purchased it.
Was half of that just so the warning labels face up? Cause otherwise it looks unnecessary.
Had I been paying attention when I bought the set, I could have had store flip door for free.
This was a really big help. Tyvm!
This freaking process is like the Energizer Bunny
Thank You
That's a whole lot, don't want to do it now 😕.
At first, it didn't seem bad and then I kept watching and now I know what you mean.
It's not easy and not fun, but it's doable. I see why the lazy installation guys did the washing machine but not the dryer door.
I did it, but it was NOT easy. I'm not sure why Whirlpool decided to take the long road to what was a very short road solution. Fail.
Get a drill!! Lol
26 screws, 3 different driver heads... and mine didn't even have electronics in the door. Idiotic design.

I guess building a dryer from scratch is way easier than this BS!
