News Of The World - From The Jam (Official Video)

- This is live music at its best. The original version of"News of the World", was the theme song to TV Show "Mock the Week", and the only song to be written by Bruce Foxton on his own. Another great song originally released by The Jam in 1978, which charted at No. 27 on the UK Top 40. The title of the song refers to the old British tabloid newspaper with the same name.
This performance comes from the "From the Jam - A 1st Class Return" concert Live at the Forum in December 2007. From the Jam kick off at full speed, each one complimenting the other and the material as fresh as when it was at the top of the UK Charts! They turned a chilly night in North London into a rhythm inferno, and in doing so, rewrite modern world anthems for the 21st century!

I need to see this mob, I was just too young to catch The Jam but always loved their music. Bruce Foxton was a huge influence on my bass playing too, he's one of the few people who gets a great sound from a P Bass (I cannot stand them usually).

Brilliant guitar play at 2 mins in by Dave Moore. Just how I remember it. From the Jam are a class act, you can see how effortless and faultless it all is.

Eh? Why the other guitarist? The beauty of the Jam was the power coming from the three piece. It's like when the Smiths had Gannon playing Rhythm. Over egging the pudding comes to mind.

Hmm. Sounds better than most of the Jam live recordings which were often let down by plenty of sloppy vocals and rough guitar playing.
@@richardelson3261 Oh really? You need to guide us to those clips? Weller has always been a solid musician. You probably need to understand the term 'raw. Or maybe stick to your CD collection if you are seeking perfection.
I think he did keys and stepped in on guitar now and again to fill up the sound or play any parts that might have been tricky for Russel alongside vocals
