  • Heavy Duty Rollover by Disneyland - Rotator Recovery
    This rollover happened in sunny Anaheim, literally 2 blocks away from Disneyland. Prior to arriving, the driver told me Anaheim-Fullerton Tow was on scene, who was called by the local police. We called over there to let them know I was en route and we agreed to work it together.
    Overall was a very fun and technical job, with my custom slings doing all of the heavy lifting. The given weight of the concrete block was approximately 40,000lb. After we split it from the trailer and had it in the air, a new trailer backed up underneath it to haul it away. There was a stringer on scene recording the entire job, and I got his info and permission to use his footage for my channel. Check him out on IG and YT: @OCHAWK

    It was clear from the go that the guys from Anaheim-Fullerton Tow didn't have the " heavy equipment" on site needed for this incident. And then the way you guys took control demonstrated that this was almost a " routine" job, where everybody knew what to do and when to do it. Great!

      Josh and David and Joe typically do these kinds of recoveries on a daily basis… due to the fact there are a lot of inexperienced truck drivers on the road now, they multiply like Gremlins with water. So they always do a stellar job, just as much as Van Lingen, Ten West and Statewide! I’ve had the pleasure of working a few wrecks with these guys when I was at Statewide. Great bunch of guys !!

      @zadtheinhaler 2 роки тому +7

      I would've put that thing on a gooseneck/lowboy. A lot of weight up high, and making a turn just pretzeled that frame. Probably would be far less likely on a gooseneck.

    • @kingbunky
      @kingbunky 2 роки тому +7

      The trailer might have buckled first, causing the wreck, rather than the wreck causing the buckling. That was definitely not modern equipment! It looked kind of top heavy for it, like the other commenter said, should have used a low boy, and like the other other commenter said, should have been upside down from the way it was, with some blocking around the inlet/outlet part.

    I gotta ask, is gravity different over on the Left Coast? I can't get over how many rollovers you guys have to deal with. I get that some of them are from poorly loaded containers coming in at the port, but it still seems excessive. I grew up around the hilly, windy roads of Pittsburgh, PA, and rollovers are a relative rarity.

    • @silentepsilon888

    I could literally almost here thar sigh of relief from the Fire Captain and Engineer as soon as you got rid of that chain and started re-rigging that load. What was so great about it was the way you and your crew came in there. You guys came in with confidence and poise not cocky or annoyance, you executed that perfectly by not making the other rigs look like they did anything wrong nor did you try to make yourselves look better than, you guys were respected from the start and very appreciated in the end. Yes you’ve got the best of the best equipment and yes it allows you to accomplish solutions with more efficiency allowing you to work smarter not harder than others but that does not by any means should ever be looked at in a way by others like it’s easy for them because they have ……
    any “Dipshit” can go out and buy the best tools and show up to the job looking like they’re the leader in the industry but when you show up and not only know how you use ALL of those tools but use them in ways that others in your industry haven’t seen, well that can’t be faked, that can’t ever be doubted and that is something that no dollar will ever buy, it’s only with time that you get the experience, after some experience you start to build up some pride, thats the point where some will start to buy to much into themselves and their ego starts to become a little more than their passion but for those that are able have just enough ego to stay confident but still hungry enough to keep learning and remain teachable also always respecting the ones that came before you and try to mentor the ones that will eventually share your passion that’s where just enough glass full of pride with spoon full of ego will create a passion drink that becomes intoxicating and so tasty that everybody wants to take from your cup that’s runneth over but when you’re able to keep that proper mixture that fine wine just keeps getting sweater. All the sudden the customers starting pouring into your cup putting you in a position you’re able to know what to buy that nice equipment and know who to hire that shares that same fire.
    Anytime you’re investing your pride, able to keep turning into your passion this will always pay out respect in dividends. Fine job gents it was very cool to see this side of you and the guys on a job it really put things in a different perspective that was enlightening.

They're stocked the same with minor differences. I put a lot of work and time into the big flipper and Hulk walk around videos, just for barley any one to watch them. @@PepesTowingService .. not to argue with you, but Hulk's walkaround got 46k views which is more than many container rollover recoveries get. Granted, you got many videos on the 100k to 200k range, but I would not consider 46k for the Hulk walkaround as a 'tanked' video ---- or was 'tanked' a word play reference to the recovered load in this video? 👍😂

    • @PepesTowingService
      @PepesTowingService  2 роки тому +1

      @@silentepsilon888 I monitor my UA-cam studio analytics and that video started off incredibly slow. Of the 46k views, more than half was this year alone. From may 2020 - December 2020 was the other half, which averages out to a few thousand per month which is tanked to me. Especially since tons of people were requesting to do a walk around of it. In the realm of things, Dave's rotator is less powerful than hulk and big flipper, I just don't see me walking around it for 15min and opening tool boxes worth it.
