I started on a vegan diet before my hubby too. He really got interested when we went for a hike and I left him in the dust. I had so much energy. We watched The Game Changers and Forks over knives and he was sold. He switched about a month after me.

Thanks for saying "you have to have a calorie deficit to lose weight". I have been vegan for 7 years and I'm 50 lbs over weight. I can definitely overeat on vegan food. A can of beans is 500 calories. Pair that with tortillas, vegan cheese, guacamole and you're easily at 1200 calories. I can eat that for one meal easy. Throw in some vegan oreos or chips and you're not in a calorie deficit. When people say "rabbit food", well they haven't met this chubby bunny!

This video is so great! Also the video where you talked about quitting alcohol. So many times I’ve struggle to stay on a wfpb diet and failed. I had to reset my motivation and put my foot down in the house with my husband and daughter constantly buying/eating junk food and going out to eat. I had to focus solely on my own progress and not worry about getting the whole family on board. I announced I was doing a 90 day challenge and so far they have been more supportive than in the past. It’s day 40 and I’m doing great!! Almost feels natural now to eat my go to meals and without having to worry if my husband will moan and groan has been a pure blessing lol. Thanks you Tia for these relatable videos. Honestly so good to hear we’re all struggling and succeeding together.

If anyone asks me why I eat this way, I will be proud to tell them the truth: "I do it for the animals" (or might say "for ethical reasons"). Hi Tia! I've discovered your channel a while ago and really love your videos! I'm a vegan and have been wanting to lose weight for years now but every time I try, I give up after a week or two (mostly after having a binge eating moment).. especially now it's not easy for me as I'm a mum of a 10 month old and it's really stressful with him, and I don't really have much time to cook fresh and nutritious meals for weight loss..
I've bought myself an Instant pot a few months ago but haven't actually really used it so far apart from steaming some veggies for our little one or the airfryer lid :D I've seen in one of your videos that you have one as well and was wondering whether you could maybe make a video (if possible also quickly showing how it works and/or which functions you mostly use, etc..) with your favourite weight loss instant pot recipes that are easy and quick to put together so I don't have to spend too much time in the kitchen? This would be amazing!

Thanks for covering this subject matter. I enjoy hearing your experiences. I didn’t respond to your query, but will tell you my biggest obstacle in the last 9 months of joyfully being WFPB, SOS free. And that is flatulence! I work from home and live by myself, so don’t think about it much. The Covid lifestyle has also made being around others not what it used to be. But as I find myself out and about more, and hopefully develop a romantic relationship again, how am I going to deal with all this gas?! It’s not painful, but just lots of it. Especially after I eat potatoes. Anybody else?

Older reply here, too! lol Taste is really personal, so just try something if you're curious and see if you like it! You could even spoon out a little bit of your dish seperately and try different seasonings, so if you don't like it you've not altered the entire batch. Also google some similar recipes, even if they're not vegan, just to see what spices are common -- like cumin in Mexican style recipes, or oregano in Italian style. And watching vegan channels will give you ideas about healthy additions for flavor. Also, an easy way to season is to check out the mixed blends at the grocery, like seasoned salt, no-salt Mrs. Dash flavors, Cajun, Italian, etc. - just watch for salt, gluten or sugar in the ingredients if that matters to you. Good luck and have fun!
