I agree, why wait, do it now. I am going to walk 4,000 steps and speak 3 things I'm grateful for everyday. I went plant based 3 years ago. I feel great but the weight is not moving. I feel bad but I'm not giving up. Thank you, I know it's a lot of work but I believe you are helping many of us. I love your honest content. Life comes first, we appreciate anything you can do or share with us.

To help with your weight loss, cut out all added fat and processed foods, even the vegan ones. That really is the trick to plant based weight loss.

I ❤ savory for breakfast. I am make cheesy chickpeas for my avocado toast. Just put some chickpeas in a little frying pan with some tamari sprinkled, cover with nooch, and onion powder, and just a little water to simmer. On medium high heat bring to a bit of a boil and move around until cook till the liquid cooks away and all the chickpeas are coated. So good! And lots of protein

I'm more of a savory person in the morning but some days (like today) I enjoy a big bowl of steel cut oats with flax seed, sweetened with a date and fruit. (Apples, blueberries or banana) I also add almond butter or peanut butter some days.

I like doing a baked good after a salad, too! I've been going hard for mug cakes made with spotty bananas lately! With cocoa powder and a bit of date syrup or coconut sugar (oat flour and baking powder, too). Great with chocolate chips or chocolate frosting on top. 🎉 So easy and fast! And hits the spot. ❤

My resolution for the past few years has always been to do the Yoga Challenge with Yoga by Adrienne….Yoga with Adrienne? Do what feels good? I can’t remember, but she’s an awesome online yoga instructor who does a 30 day yoga program on UA-cam every January. It’s great for beginners. And by January, every year, I’m always a beginner:)

Love your videos! As far as protein I believe its like what you said-Every body is different 😀 For me its very important because I am 56 and was diagnosed with osteopenia while being WFPB. It really scared me so I stopped eating WFPB and of coarse felt like crap, gained weight, had inflammation, etc. So I went back to eating WFPB again and I am extremely happy that I did but I have to admit that I am very worried about getting enough protein. I am in menopause and have no hormones left which helps with your bones and a whole lot more. I come across most people saying we get enough protein by just eating plants but I really have not come across anyone talking about a woman of my age needing more and how to get it. I do eat more beans, lentils, tofu, etc but I still feel like I dont get enough because I am one of those people who gets full fast and can not eat huge portions. I am always worried about protein because I dont want osteoporosis. I am sorry this is long, lol, but I love watching your videos!😀 Oh and what I want to focus on in this New Year is yoga and meditation. I weight train but I need to relax more and stress less. Unfortunately I am very good at stressing out lol

I'm the same age, and although not diagnosed with osteoporosis, it runs in my mom's side of the family, so I worry a bit too. I eat mostly WFPB and but don't really worry about getting enough protein. My understanding is that strength training is very important for maintaining not only muscles but bones. Chef AJ did a video with a woman who reversed her severe osteoporosis with strength training and of course a plant based diet. Definitely worth looking into. Also Brenda Davis has a new book about protein with a focus on aging (at least my understanding listeningn to an interview). I haven't read the book but did find it on Amazon. Hope this helps!

Hi, love your videos… but this might be the 1st time I hear you say you’re the only one that eats this way in your family… how do you do it? What has helped you stay in the wagon? After I finish cooking for my family, I usually cave in and eat what they prefer (or a huge bag of family size chips) since I have no energy to cook/clean a second meal just for me. Trying to find my final aha moment and stay on track… everyday I start and fail… 😢. Thanks

  • @ErikAndAllie

    Hey Tia!
Thanks so much for posting these videos. I am also the only family member who wants to do WFPB... how do you know you're "getting everything you need" nutrients-wise?
I want more than anything to make this sustainable. It just doesn't seem like it is based on my past experiences. I end up eating the same stuff over and over (e.g., quinoa, some type of bean, and 1 green [broccoli usually] + some salsa) and I burn out. I tried nutritarian and ended up in the kitchen, 1 weekend, batch cooking for 14 hours straight! YIKES!
Please let me know your thoughts! I'd be extremely grateful for any guidance and practical advice you can provide.
P.S., additionally, we live out in the boonies, so no whole foods, etc. nearby.
