- Great band, great day, great festival...
Lesson Learned starts around 04:45
Preformed friday the 2nd of July 2010 on the Orange Stage at the Roskilde Festival, Denmark.
Traded a lion for a grizzly bear. A different animal, but still a pretty f*cking dangerous one.
🔥
Man, this comment is bomb 😎😎
Bro ....... FUKING YEAAHHH !!!!!!!
My favorite interpretation of the Layne/Duvall fiasco some of the fanbase has turned it into.
Love this 🤘🏼
I love Layne Staley, hes probably my favourite vocalist of all time, but due to his addictions and problems, Alice In Chains were unable to tour for the best part of 15 years. I'm glad for the guys in the band that they're able to go out and play their music and let people hear it. Duvall is great. Haters gonna hate, I guess.
Hey, those harmonies are tight!
The tempo change, new singer who is a very competent guitarist, a full partner. Better version of the song. I miss Layne, no one will top him. You have to admit Duvall is taking them to new heights in a different direction. Which is what a new guy is supposed to do. The past heights are unreachable. So reach for and conquer new ones.
Bob Black Think fucking God. I LOVE William, and I'm in my 30's, I remember Layne, and he was amazing, but so is William. Saw them in concert, he was perfect, and it was the best show I've seen. People that go on about Layne need to realize that hes gone, and that William is doing an amazing job, and that us fans really want them to keep putting out music.
Very Well Put. I LOVE Layne, but we Have to move on. AiC did. How ' bout the rest of us!?!
duvall is a great vocalist, i just wish he had a little more raspy voice, jerry is already such a good clean singer, duvall could probably nail some tool,APC songs too
That’s a ridiculous comment lol as a whole, I mean whatever you are into but no.
@@stevennieves4430 Hmm
cantrells such an underrated singer in his own right.
Duvall is awesome
Not really lol
@@stevennieves4430
No, is awesome
@@stevennieves4430 lmfao, if you have listened to any of their albums with him you would know that he is
DAMN!!! William sounds awesome on It Ain't Like That
Carmona Roberto It’s really solid but I wish Layne was next to Jerry Cantrell.
Sacrilege... Wasn't led Zeppelin without Bonham for a reason. Wasn't Nirvana without Kurt for a reason... Wasn't the Beatles without Lennon for a reason
@@carolnichole1 Difference here is that nirvana literally was kurt cobain, wrote all of the songs and sang them. Whereas jerry wrote on 60-70% of songs, and wrote music on 99% of them. Lest we forget that he also sang on a good amount of songs. Not really the same situation.
If Layne was alive, he would cry of proud seen William singing his songs with his old friends !
Lesson Learned is so good
Sound amazing as always, but damn Sean was killing it!
Killing it in a good way btw lol
Sean always kills it
Luv Sean Kinney and those monster arms so strong muscles when beating the skins.. 💋💞
Donna Franklin Right. Yummy Sean Kinney.👅❤️💋👄Have you seen him on the Sabian Cymbal channel?. Check out that video. His strength is enough to make me melt!
Always loved Jerry’s voice; glad he put out another album, “Brighten” is awesome.
Lesson Learned is a metal masterpiece
2 guitars benefited their live performances by a ton
Definitely adds a fullness to their sound, shit sounds great live
Every one of them is GREAT.
Layne was one of a kind, but AIC is still so awesome!!!!
It Ain't Like That is PERFECT!!!
the bands sounds amazing here, and lesson learned is one amazing groovy song, too bad they dont play it live anymore
Why not?
Played it for me last week
William Duvall will never be better than Layne Stanley, but with him singing Alice in chains, can continue making music, and playing 90s AIC in memory of Layne Stanley,RIP we love you, miss you brother😢🎸😎😍🤘🤘🤘
Robert Jamieson Duvall is good in his own right.
Robert Jamieson his last name is Staley, and William is still great and they’re a fantastic live band with will. They will never reach the heights they did with Layne but they’re still a great band who puts out great music and gets to tour and do what they love as well as make money which is good
what can we do is what we got kkkk not that bad but not Layne
smh
Those little bass switch ups Mike does are so subtle but incredible
Jerry is the best !!!
So glad Jerry Cantrell kept working and grooving and continuing the legacy of what he started with Layne.. always putting out great music with the same genius
Different singer, same killer harmonies. It sounds like AIC, that's all that matters.
Both Jerry & William's voices sound soo good.
the harmonizing is spot on!
Jerry knows layne better then all of us combined,he's been with aic since the beginning and of all people he knows that William duvall was the best option for aic.sure he's not the same as layne but William has a incredible voice and charisma.layne would want aic to continue rather then stop making good music,William knows that he can never replace layne and he knows that the legend of layne is bigger then him.William only wants what's best for aic, witch is making good music so stop this argumen
I've liked Duvall all along but I think this particular concert he seems to have a bit more effects on his voice and it sounds absolutely amazing!
RedroomStudios Yeah, I just noticed that too. Solid performance all around. They must have been fresh. Great sound!!
I wish I was this badass!!!
hanstubb Yeah I dreamed that I was wearing killer pants sick ass shirt, flannel and singing Bleed the Freak like Layne did live.
Wind the clock back to April 20th of 2001 I saw William Duval singing with Jerry Cantrell at the Roseland theater the tickets were 12 bucks. I got to say hello to the both of them Im a huge fan and glad to see AIC still making Music !
The first AIC song I ever heard, and the guitar sound is totally sick! I've got goosebumbs on my balls!
The bass is sick. The whole song is ridiculously good. I almost can’t take it!
I love this band so much. I'm so glad they continued on performing.
Their harmonies sound amazing!
Yeah jerry yeah
The best live guitar solo I’ve seen on this song so far
Which one lol? They played it ain’t like that and lesson learned
Great performance, stunning riff, awesome vocals, good solo and rusty bass line
2 of my favorite songs from AIC... nicely done.
I like Duvall. Shame we lost Layne but it's good to see Alice in Chains back.
thank god for duvall. chains is still able to tour and release new music. they rock harder than any band out there to this day
THIS IS FANTASTIC! Man I hope to be seeing them this summer and I sure hope they sound this amazing! \m/
Amazing
Here it is 2022,
And I am
So glad this band chose to move forward and Honor Layne by doing so……Jerry I’ll see you on the first of may brother, back home up in the PNW it’s gonna be great man!🎶
Maravilha! Perfeito!!!
So so true, forward we move, the past is only a memory now!!
Love ❤️ you all kicked ass!
I just searched "It Ain't Like That Anymore" *guitar lesson*, and was brought to this vid, lol! 'Lesson learned': seek and ye shall find even better!! #AIC :-)
People expect DuVall to be the exact same as Layne. I enjoy both sides of the band, some of the new stuff isnt bad at all incl. Your Decision. Respect to Jerry
Alalu Music HEAR HEAR!!
Alalu Me too Duvall’s Last of my kind is good.
I loves its: "Buzzards cry when flesh is rippin' "... ...
gosh they sound great
woooooow Duvall kick ass this time! great to see Alice back in the road again, hope they come to Argentina
Jerry is the ultimate cowboy.
Cowboy from Hell \m/
Well he does have a ranch in Oklahoma… ;)
You cannot say this doesn't sound amazing.
Awesome, both songs. But Lesson Learned kicks serious ass!!!
Duvall isn't Layne...Layne is gone, sadly, and Duvall is the man!
But not Layne
@@manysissites5859
That's why is still being badass
Duvall is Duvall
William sounds great on this.
Duvall , love you're place. Very impressive. You have the greatest time of you're life. I love you Brother. Tommy Tombstone. Peace. ✌.
Lesson Learned was mind-blowing as in the album.
Holy Shit... This smokes!!!
Wow!
Sean my hero
Riff Lord can't wait to see you Mr.Cantrell in Boston st.pattys night 10th row yessssssss sirrr!!!!!!!!!
I just saw Alice in chains in Houston Saturday night I was not pleased at minute maid Park you guys have to do another tour next year headlining f*** guns and roses I want to see you guys again that can't be the last show I see from you guys please hit the South again
i fucking love this song
AIC still growing strong ! good music.
it ain't like that anymore, the harmonization between layne and jerry's voices was something unreachable
not bad,it will never be Layne, but not bad, glad too see Jerry carry on,he still rocks it.
its not that the new singer is bad its just people dont like him becuase he isnt layne staley and thats bullshit he is good the band sounds great i give all the power in the world to the new front man and AIC
Jerry is a Riff Wizard !!
Lesson Learned es la hostia!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hell yeah Some 90s Alice in chains off of Facelift, plus newer AIC off Black gives away to Blue😝🎸😎😍🤘🤘🤘
Jer looks and sounds awesome still
Duvall didn't replace Layne, he was added while Layne is watching
the new singer dude is bad ass and also..how can one band be so damn cool?
Other guitar players help me! Is that weird sound around 138 when they switch back to the main e minor/low E bend thing just one of there picks being at an odd angle? They up stroke the e and seem to keep the pretty snug with the right hand. It sounds like that noise you get from strumming the strings behind the bridge(running with the devil). Iv heard Jerry do that as just kind of an ambient noise on a recording. Think it was on the black gives way to blue album
Jerry!! Jerryy!!!....
Will needs more beard lol. Love his scruff.
Jerry reminds me of Johnny Winter!!!
Just saw them in 2023 and was kind of disappointed they didn't play this song or any other song from facelift besides man in the box. They still kick ass though
Ok yeah William suits this one
jeje like the tempo change and I think IT WAS REALLY IMPORTANT!!! this song has that ambience, that slow menacing-attitute feel riff.. and has to be slow!!! I like they changed on time.. no one was hurt here! And it was Jerry who slowed it down because he´s right beside the drummer, the thing you would do inmediately as a musician to correct the tempo.. go to the drummer and making him slow down his tempo!
Everything is perfect except for Layne's high raspy notes missing. William is a hell of a musician and singer and he doesn't try to imitate Layne because he knows it can't be done. Love it
I wonder why Jerry didn't play the wah-wah note at the start of the heavy riff, they are two guitarist now... He also didn't play the entire solo.
this song works very well with duvall's style
#lostinvegas83
New singer. It ain't like that was a Layne song. Lessons learned is new incarnation.
You see how AIC fans have taken to the new?
As you have learned....AIC "can't do anything wrong. Cantrell is the constant. RIP Brother Layne
I actually think this version is almost better than the original. Different but awesome and powerful.
Are you drunk
Santiago Logioco And deaf??
William is a good steward for the old stuff but will never have the pain and emotion of Layne with these songs...however the new stuff is insane and I am so glad they choose to keep going!!
Santiago Logioco No, he isnt trapped in the past, still l loves the band, and can be objective.
Damn man. Layne shouldve been there
Great vid here and performance. I just get the impression that most of the crowd here just see AIC as just "another" rock band...
They were lame. The crowd, not AIC.
Roskilde. It’s an annual hippie style European multi day camping festival. AIC was one of many bands playing. Crowd might have been tired and hot. Who knows.
i know the legend wrote the damn song, but is it just me, or is he playing the bends faster than usual?
That crunchy ass bass tho
I am of course, Layne addicted.. so i was disappointed when i realized this live was with Duvall...... Then he starts singing.... wow!! Not bad
I just love Jerry's voice, it's so sexy, just like him.
Heather.
Close But No Cigar BRO! 🥱
Layne Layne layne
The only thing that gets me disturbed is that in the twentieth century L just just sang it. Twenty yrs later W feels he has to gesticulate to warm up the audience. And the song remains the same fgs!
chicos,se sabe que layne dejó la vara muy alta, nadie va a poder llenar ese vacío,dejen de comparar,es un nuevo AIC. tomalo o dejalo.
It Ain't Working Anymore, not even close for me, RIP Layne
did they headline this?
the crowd is so dead...too stoned, i guess
I saw them open up for Guns n Roses a few years back at Arrowhead Stadium (Kansas City Chiefs) and of course everyone went ballistic including myself when GnR played there set as they were on fuckin point... But i swear out of the thousands in attendance i felt like i was the only one who was jamming out so damn hard when AIC played theres all the way through it... Dudes seemed like they forgot they came to open for another band hahaha played like they were headlining and fuckin destroyed it and the crowd was just either standing there or busy talking or walking around lol i just couldn't wrap my head around that. AIC is the best man. Hell i paid for the tickets so my wife could see GnR (bucket list for her) love them but i came to see AIC and was not dissapoitned.
DuVall is amazing still miss layne on it aint like that though =[
Jerrys guitar is sexy
Cantrell playing those solos like he wrote them...
penalozaur (lol) Cause he did !?!
Scott Daunhauer 🤣 The hell is wrong with this guy.
penalozaur Because he created it. That’s what happens musicians create art that is art right here.
