kyle you are seriously one of the best things to ever happen to the adventure riding industry. i bought these tires from you, ironically, for my tenere 700 recently. have only gotten to put about 300 - ish miles on them. LOVE the offroad grip, but the squirleyness on rain grooves / high speed highway is the only thing i very much dont like about them (granted, this is definitely the most aggressive tire ive used on a street). i quite literally just asked you, in your trailmax mission videos, if you still thought they were a 50.50 tire to this day just because of the desert HT front on the highway. now, you just revealed to me that, this will go away after some 1k miles and i CANNOT BE HAPPIER. customer for life. fan for life. you rock dude
Thanks for your support. Next time you need Motoz, please purchase them here: www.motocityparts.com/category/22653/adventure-tires Yeah... the ride to Moab was LONG due to the wobble fix all. the. way. there. ... man! But the ride home ZERO. Since then they have been great. There is a new and exciting Motoz tire in the works... I'll be able to talk about it at the end of this year. Stay tuned!
Thumbs up for the super fun video my MC riding brother! That riding looks like a blast. Have been to the Colorado/Utah border and Moab and/or Green River many times, mostly out to White Wash and San Rafael Swell to ride 5 Miles of Hell and the "color trails" on my '18 300XC. I'm in Denver, the Motoz HT looks like the perfect tire for my new Husky 701, which I got to sit between the 300 and my Super Tenere. I regard the Super T as a pavement and graded dirt road only cross country and super comfy lounge chair touring bike, but not an actual ADV for the kind of stuff your video shows. No way I am doing Sovereign Trail, Fins 'n Things or Hell's Revenge on my Super T. Would be more than happy to do them on my 701 though, they are too easy on the light and agile 300, cuz riding that bike in it's off road environment is like cheating! I like to buy bikes in winter, as it gives me plenty of time to set them up. Will mount a set of HT's on the 701 once the OEM TKC 80s are done. I wager the HTs will last quite well on the lighter and less powerful (but still stupid powerful) 701. Really enjoying the 701 so far by the way, reminds me of a massively updated and improved version of the '83 XL600 I had "back in the day". I doubt I will ever be able to do multi gear balance wheelie my 701 like the XL600, but that doesn't mean I won't switch off the TC and give it a serious go. always remembering that the rear brake pedal is life 😆
Nice video Kyle! It inspired me not to buy new motoz tire for me but to wear out my existing half worn shinkos in one quick trip. And what do you know it worked:) left early, it was still dark out. Got my first coffee in 100 some miles. Eventually got to my destination, had lunch and rode rocky easy dirt roads. Set up camp and passed out. And same did the next day. Still got some ringing in my ears. Man it was good:)
I had a set of TKC80's followed by a set of Desert H/T's on a DR-Z400. The MotoZ tires were just as durable, far better in the dirt, I never had a problem on the highway, and they were cheaper. I suspect the issue with grooved pavement is due to the depth of the tread; don't worry about it. The only advantage to the TKC80's, is that they are always available.
Great review, thanks!! Just bought a set for my KLR. Hoping to get a season out of them.. around 5-7k miles out of them.. Upstate NY.., I do a fair amount highway to get to any legal trails. A 80/20 tire would probably be the intelligent way to go.. but.. who can deny these tires look badass. And my trails are so muddy, rocky and encounter alot of steep elevation changes. Can't wait to see how much further I can explore with these.
Damn these are badazz tires. I like at the end how chewed up they are but the lugs are still there. Most tires have entire lugs that rip clean off the tire. Very impressive the miles you ride there and they looked new. Some knobbies are toast after 700 highway miles!
So I live in the Kootenay's in BC Canada. Going to be riding some pavement to get to logging roads and could be wet pavement. I have a husky 501 with stock tires on it right now. I was thinking about the Tractionator Enduro IT's for best all round kinda tire. What do you think? that or the Deserts but I was thinking the deserts don't work so great in the wet. Thanks Jer
The Enduro IT is a great tire but i wears out FAST on the road. I suggest the Motoz RallZ on the rear and the Dual Venture or the Enduro ST Fatty up front on the 501.
I loved the desert HT ( in all terrain except asphalt- VERY NOISY ) and I only got around 2500 miles , and that’s with 90% off road riding . I preferred the Rallz ( for all situations) but now trying the GoldenTyre GT723 , I reckon the Rallz is still a better all rounder, but for STEEP snotty hill climbs and wet Asphalt the 723 is better.
Great feedback! Yea, I too think the RallZ is the best all around tire. This Desert HT does dig in and grip better in certain situations... but overall the RallZ is my Go-To.
@@manybikes Yes 👍 totally agree , I think 🤔 the Rallz ( as an all rounder 50/50 tyre will be a hard tyre to improve on ) in saying that tyre technology has come SO far in 10 years .
@@larisagnia3593 the HT is a better off road road tyre ( if you are spending 90% of your riding off road - it still grips well on asphalt but as I said above it wears quickly and noisy) the GT 723 compares more to the Rallz , I think it’s slightly better on road - very quite, I just found in one section of the tyre it’s has a traction spot that loses traction ( when really pushing it ( that was on gravel dirt roads in bends doing around 40-50 MPH , it breaks traction bites Breaks , bites - if that makes sense ) this is only at the extreme end of riding through. I will be back further testing the tyre next weekend ( I had 3 months off due to a BIG off and a brain 🧠 injury) but going riding to my favourite snotty sanding , Mabel trails - most riders don’t like it 😂😂😂. After rain 🌧 it packs down and faster to ride.

Yep 👍 fantastic tyre “ Paul from Australia 🇦🇺 “ we LOVE ❤️ our Motoz . I particularly like the Desert 🌵 HT in all but the asphalt as it’s a VERY noisy tyre , then prefer the Rallz or Goldentyre GT723 or even a Dunlop D606 . But for the snotty stuff and roasting all your mates with rocks the HT is the go 👍😂😂😂.
Right on! I totally agree. On the highway it is the loudest tire I've ever run. But in the dirt it's an animal! And longevity ... as compared to any "similar dual sport tire" it is Amazing there too.... Hail Motoz!
Great tire review - Moab and Death Valley are 2 of my favorite places to ride. I'm doing a Baja trip on my 701 Enduro (mostly off road and about 2800 miles). I'm trying to decide between the Desert HT and the RallZ. Do you have a recommendation?
If you are okay with 3,500 miles for the set of tires and don't mind if they are lound on the highway... go with the Desert HT! If you want 2k more miles than that and want them to be "not so loud" then go with the RallZ ;)
I have an XR650L - I've been through 2 sets each of D606's and Kenda K270's - I'm torn now between the Motoz H/T or the Shinko 244. I bought a RZR that I now do most of my off roading with, so I now use the XR mostly for street with a few trails here and there. I really like how the Motoz have so much more tread.. would you have any further input since making this vid last year?
I suggest the Rallz in the rear and the Dual Venture up front. Here is a testimonial received yesterday from a customer that got that combo delivered and mounted last week: “ Btw, I have really been enjoying the RallZ / Dual Venture combo on my Beta! Did an epic ride on them Sunday. 130 mile loop to Banning - Poppet Flats via Idyllwild Mountain Road - 4S05 - 4S10 - 5S07 - 5S15 - 6S13 - 74 - 243 - Idyllwild Mountain Road - 10 - Redlands! They worked as great as an all surface tire could on all surfaces! I can’t imagine a better combo for such a wide range of surfaces”
On these trips... if I am all day on the road I bump them up to nearly 40 psi. If jumping from dirt to pavement and back... I leave them at 30 psi. And... if the going gets rough I run them down as far as 18... but mostly in the low to mid 20's. Hope this helps!
I ran the tractionator adventures on my super tenere and liked it a lot. You may want to try the tractionator gps depending on exactly what kind of offroading you end up doing
The longest lasting best off-road tire will be the Motoz GPS tire. I'd say the Adventure tire up front and the GPS in the rear. Or... The RallZ if you want less mileage (still 5k to 8k) but sticker on the pavement and more aggressive off-road.
Hey there! That all depends on that type of off road. Out rocks eat tires out here. Baja sand is way different than Florida sand... then there are the mud and roots of the Pacific Northwest and the east coast. I'd say 4k is a good round number.
which would last longer: tkc80 - tkc70 rocks or the tractionator? Thanks! I'm riding a Ducati pikes peak for off-road trips and also on the highway, it's kind of a 50/50 time for me, great channel and I hope you will answer, thanks! ✌🏼
Well, it really depends on what you really want to do... how much off-road riding you will do and it it will be gravel / mild dirt roads or if you want to do hill climbs and technical types of off-road. If that latter... the Tractionator line of tire will be your best bet. If you are cruising gravel roads, the TKC70 Rocks will be a perfect tire. I have gotten into situations on the TKC70 Rocks where I wished I was on a more aggressive rear tire. That does not happen much with the Tractionators.
