  • So... I have been riding Motoz Tires for 10 Years and here are my thoughts on ALL of their ADV Tires and what type or ride each of their tyre's are best used for...

    I was introduced to the Motoz Tractionator Desert H/T in 2011 and used that tire exclusively until 2016 when I was asked to "test" the Tractionator Adventure Tire. 5k miles later... the Adventure Tire became my Go-To tire. The Tractionator GPS tire was released in 2017 and it was intended for more of the GS crowd... but the line has significantly expanded. In 2018 my "New Favorite" tire was created and released... the Tractionator RallZ. These tires are made of a mixture of All Natural Rubber and synthetic materials such as Silica to make the longest lasting, best performing Adventure Tires available. I have videos on most of these tires... but I wanted to put together a summary video answering my most frequently asked questions.

    Tractionator desert was the worst rear tire i had. Short life and offroad grip compared to mitas e07. Hated it.
    Mitas e09 hooked up better and lived way longer.
    I now wanna try for my AT with lot of fast on road riding adventure front and gps rear ;

      It is interesting that you and I had exact opposite experiences. On the AT I did really lik the e07 but on my KTM 1190 it was sketchy. The GPS is a great 50/50 tire.

    Worth mentioning the GPS tires are 50/50 or 60/40 if flipped to ‘mostly off road’. So all these tires cover 50, 60, 70, 80, and 90 off road.

    Hi Kyle, I am running the RallZ on my KTM 890r based on your recommendation and they are perfect for the type of riding I do. The improvement over the TKC80s (still had 50% when I swapped) in off road traction is incredible. I do have some road noise associated with primarily the front tire, but it is a non issue for me. Especially considering the off road prowess and very good on road manners. To the UA-cam community, I purchased these tires from Kyle; and would recommend that to anyone!

    I need some advise; SInce 2017 I been running (Yamaha Super Tenere 1200) Motoz Tractionator Adventure's on the rear and am very happy with the performance of that tire. I get 3500 miles out of that tire with ease vs less then 1000 miles with a TKC80 rear. This is combined On and Off road. However, I still kept the TKC80 for the front and also get about the same 3500 miles out of that. Reason to keep the TKC80 front is because of its perfect performance during rain on wet asphalt in near freezing temps. In those conditions I can feel the Motoz ADV slipping and skipping but the TKC80 front NEVER missed a beat. Now, I can't seem to find the TKC80 front anymore. Which Motoz tire could replace that? Has that same soft compound giving it that sticky performance on road during cold and possibly wet weather while never holding me back offroad? Thank you.

      You have bees running the same combo as many other Adv riders! I'd say the Metzeler Karoo 4 up front is one of the best wet weather tires I've run. The new Mitas Enduro Trail XT+ (non-Dakar) is good too. The Motoz match would be the Dual Venture. Hope this helps!

    HI, Kyle I hope you are well, las time I asked you a suggestion on which how tire I must to buy form my KTM 390 adventure comparing TKC 80 Vs Mitas E-10, now let me telle you you was right about mitas E-10, First I put the rear E-10 mitas on my BIKE and I could see the great job Mitas works on muy bike talking about Off Road. I'm Very happy with Mitas E-10, but looking for the future 2023 I'm considering MOTZ tractionator Adventure or rally Desert, Dou you think MOTOZ could be a better replacement ??

    Anyone have death wobble issues with the adventure tire? We have rain grooves in Calif freeways and I have been getting shimmies, but today I got a mild death wobble. I read something that the issues are with the rain grooves.
    I basically softened my grip and let the bike find equilibrium. It was not pleasant to say the least.

(VERY helpful for myself and those I ride with). -------- For my type of Use (70 On Road/30 Off Road) I am sold on the Durability and Grip of MOT Oz GPS and Adventure rears. (Most Likely I´d Pair either with a Moto Oz Adventure Front on my New Africa Twin DCT) *BUT* Here´s my question - I encounter Rain and Wet Patches on Tight Turns a lot down here in the Andes - How good are the Adventure & GPS vs say a TKC 70 in the On Road Wet ?? Or a Michelin Anakee Adventure (Which I have trusted & enjoyed on my previous Bike (Moto Guzzi V85TT). Many Thanks for your Feedback!

    Love the Rallz's on my 790 AdvR though I hate to see them go to waste on bitumen. Could you do a side by side offroad comparison between the Rallz and Adventure and GPS to see exactly how you gain/lose from each tyre in varying terrain. By side by side I mean, same bike, say day, same rider, same tracks, same lines. I reckon that will help a lot of viewers trying to decide which best suits them in real world conditions.

    Hey Kyle, I started watching your videos early last year when I had decided to trade my Tuono for a Tiger 900. I really did not know squat about adventure riding and the gear associated with it. I bought a set of AX41's for the Tiger after watching your reviews and they are amazing compared to the stock 90/10 A41's. This year I bought a CRF 300 Rally and I've been out in the Florida forests nearly every week. I LOVE this Honda but the stock IRC's are twitchy as hell in deep sand and useless in mud, both of which we have in Central Florida in abundance. I'm going to switch to the RallZ's even though they are sized slightly larger but still listed as compatible.
    Thanks again for all the info you share, it's been hugely beneficial for my learning curve !! One question, is Motocity a new name for Chaparral or a different company ?

    • @manybikes
      @manybikes  3 роки тому +1

      Thank you for taking time to comment and to share our story. LOVE IT! That 300 Rally is amazing and I really want an opportunity to ride it an do a review of it. We have not seen one here yet... Are you in love with it? Chaparral is Chaparral... they laid off the video team in March of 2020. I have been on my own doing contract work up until Feb of this year when I came on Full Time here in Arizona at a small family owned dealership. It's a fun gig. I would recommend the Desert H/T on the CRF due to it's size and weight. Check out this video: ua-cam.com/video/rVnT0dl04UA/v-deo.html When you are ready to purchase, please shop here first: www.motocityparts.com/category/22653/adventure-tires Another tire I would recommend for the forest / sand is the The MOTOZ Tractionator Enduro S/T (soft terrain) has been designed to give aggressive traction in soft terrain with longer wear than regular soft terrain tires. It features MX grip with Enduro strength and wear. Motoz says (I HAVE NOT TESTED) it is the right choice for maximum traction in mud and extreme conditions. Designed for riders who want the grip of an MX tire and a tough carcass for off-road with better resistance to punctures and pinch flats. Excellent for all weather in soft/varied applications.
      Hybrid Natural/Synthetic compound is unique in its ability to give long wear in a soft terrain tire, but good on road grip. Check it out here:

    Is there a road noise difference between the front Rallz and the Adventure? I'm running a Dsport rear+front on my DR650, and the front is extraordinarily loud. I previously ran Shinko front + D606 rear, and loved it, but so far the Tusk feels like a D606 but with twice the mileage. Looking for that unicorn...I'm planning on going Dsport rear + Rallz front (or MT21)

    • @manybikes

      I would try the new Dual Venture front tire from Motoz. It is a ground up front tire that is "reversible" so you can swap it when it starts to wear. Its along the lines of an MT21 and works great. I have run 3 of the fronts on three different bikes and have gotten over 7k miles from each of the tires.

    Hi Kyle, love your easy-to-understand in-depth reviews. I ride a 2014 F 700 GS in Australia and have run the GPS, the Tractionator Adventure, and the RallZ. With the last 2 front Tractionator Adventure tires, the center blocks wear down looking like a wedge or chisel. What would be the cause for kind of this wear? Currently, I'm running GPS rear with Dunlop trail max Mission front as I've had a lot of sealed road use to do of late with the odd bit of dirt, but soon to head out bush again with the Tractionator Adventure.

    • @manybikes
      @manybikes  2 роки тому +1

      Thanks for your support! The Tractionator Adventure front tires have been known to wear that way, as most knobby front tires do. The wear is exaggerated if lower pressures are run. It’s caused from front breaking the block rolls and the trailing edge wears down. Now… Motoz has a new front tire which is reversible! Every 3k or so miles you can flip it and after about 500 miles you have newish tire traction. Pretty impressive. Check it out: A Reversible Adv Tire! Once again great info! Primarily on your advice I've ran (KTM 1090r) the Desert HT which was AMAZING through Tennessee clay, mud & rotten leaf compost carpets. It pulls through the worst like the tracks of a dozer! Again on your advice, the Tractionator ADV, wow that tire was the best all around tire (street - dirt) I've ridden TN. The Michelin Anakee Wild beat it everywhere except in longevity. The Motoz ADV & the Desert HT on Tennessee hard packed "chirt" roads (dirt & sand mix) both have one minor personality quirk in that transitioning from the center to the outer blocks there is this momentary disconnect (on the back tires only). Annoying at first but always, always trustworthy! After a while you just get use to it and its part of the ride. I've come to you for advise EVERYTIME I've bought tires and then I went & bought my tires from suppliers close to TN. Often getting my tires in two days or even next day free delivery. I appreciate what you do to the point that I will be buying all my tires from you going forward and waiting patiently and extra day or days to get them. This the best way I can think of saying thank you for what you do! ... Yep, I'm due for a new back and I am torn wanting to try out the new Dunlop Trailmax Mission's (but MUD!) & knowing that Motoz ADV will work well with the next few thousand miles I'm heading to ... @manybikes  3 роки тому

      Thank you for your support David, I really appreciate it. The Motoz tires are really well made... and I do struggle when followers ask about my choice between the Wild and the Motoz: For me the Anakee Wild wears out 2x faster than the Adventure. The Wild feels like riding on a cloud for the first 1k miles or so due to the sipped lug sidewalls which are built to flex. I love the feedback from the road due to the soft sidewalls, it is a great tire. The Motoz Adventure is in my opinion / experience a more robust tire than the Michelin and is smoother on the highway and lasts longer with very similar off-road performance. Honestly they are my top two... with the AX41 rounding out the 3rd. But it wears out 2x faster than the Wild!!! Motoz is the balance between performance and longevity. Motoz is running into a shortage at the moment... TWO containers arrived this week without your 150/70-18 ... so it will be about 4 weeks until they are back in stock. We sold through or stock yesterday morning within 2 hours of this video being launched. Thank man, I appreciate you. - Kyle

      Hey there! Thanks for watching. It’s Kyle by the way… Keith is a cool guy too… I’d suggest the Continental TKC70 or the Karoo Street or the Anakee Adventure. In that order from “more off-road friendly” to less… all perform great on the street… but the dirt performance is very different.

      The Shinko 705 look good when first glancing at the price tag. Then you count the fact that you will need to replace them 2x or 3x to every set of Motoz... the "cheap tire" ends up being more expensive. The Motoz GPS tire will roll 12k miles. I have never seen a Shinko get 1/2 that.

    Hi Kyle, I was running the K-60 scout on the front and rear of my 1090r and I just put a Motoz GPS on the rear and a Motoz Adventure on the front. Only had time for a short ride. Maybe 50 km, but the Adventure on the Front felt kind of spongy and rounded in turns and cornering. No sliding or slipping. I guess it's due to huge tread depth. I think you mentioned this in one of your videos.

    • @manybikes
      @manybikes  2 роки тому +1

      Yes Sir Rick. Those 3/4" tall tread blocks do move more than most ADV tires as they are nearly 2x taller. That feeling will go away as the tread blocks wear down.

    • @manybikes
      @manybikes  3 роки тому +2

      Great question... They will be similar. For me the Anakee Wild wears out 2x faster than the Adventure.

Of these 4... the GPS is the most highway friendly, ADV is #2, RallZ is #3 and the Desert HT is #4. It is great on tarmac here as it lasts 6K+ miles for most riders and will take you anywhere. It is lounder than some of the "other tire brands" and it is pretty heavy in comparison, and the front tire can wander more than others... LOTS OF FACTORS ... Now Off-Road I find the Motoz Tractionator Adv to be far superior to any of the other tires listed. Followed by the Dunlop TrailMax Mission / Continental TKC70 Rocks and then the Scorpion Rally STR.

Then I put on 2 set of motor mountain hybrid, off road they were as good as the desert ht, again only dry stuff here. Better on the street and less slippery on wet road about 8k miles on them. A couple of weeks ago I installed the adventure tire, I haven't gone in the desert so can't comment, on street they seems to be slightly better than the mountain hybrid.
    On all of them I was surprise on how much I could lean the bike in a turn without loosing grip.

    I have an 890 Adventure, started with TKC 80's, then switched to AX41's. I am ordering a set of Rallz to try but curious about your thoughts on the best combo for road off / off road (I will sacrifice on the street so I can feel safer off road). I live in Half Moon Bay (SF Bay Area) and do day trips down Highway 1 through Santa Cruz / Watsonville to Hollister Hills (hard pack and sandy) for the afternoon and then back home. Rain grooves are not really a big problem for me but I like to ride the twisties in coastal Santa Cruz mountains and the roads can be intermittently slippery due to fog/moisture in spots.
    What would your recommendation be for the front? RallZ? AX 41? TKC80?

    • @manybikes

      First off... Nice bike! The 890 is a fantastic machine! The AX41 tires are on my list of Top 3... and they would be #1 if they lasted longer than 2k miles. Anyhow... the RallZ as a set is Amazing but many do not like the front tire due to the handlebar shake some get. My list of Non-RallZ front tires would be #1 Anakee Wild, #2 AX41 and Motoz Dual Venture. LOVE ME some Santa Cruz Mountain Coastal Road! I spent 35 years in Fremont / Livermore. My Go-To blow some steam off ride was Highway 17 out to the end of the Pierfor a Clam Chowder at The Dolphin. Then up Highway 1 to 84 or Highway 9 then across the Dunbarton or Bay Bridge to get home. Love that route! So many options... And then there is the "hard to find" Buzzard Lagoon Road through the redwoods! Nice area for sure.

      The TrailMax Mission is an impressive tire. I think it is very comparable to the GPS tire in the Motoz line-up. Regarding pressures... I run full pressure if running highway all day long... 30 psi if jumping from dirt to street and back again... and mid 20's if the going gets really sandy (for a better footprint / flotation) or rocky so the sidewalls conform instead of deflect. I will get to the land down under one of these days... Last time I tried... I flew there, did not have the right visa and they put me right back on the plane... When talking about GPS tyres could you say something more about the difference between 50/50 and mostly off-road direction?

    • @Mightycaptain
      @Mightycaptain 3 роки тому +2

      In the mostly off-road mounting there is more forward traction straight line. Better off-road braking. But keep in mind that is nominal. Any tire with that center strip is not going brake as well as a tire without it off-road. Noise level was about the same. Wear? Seems to be Pretty close. Handling isn't quite as good when you reverse on pavement. Braking on pavement seems unaffected. The trailmax mission is a better 50/50 tire imo. Maybe doesn't wear quite as long.

      Great feedback Paul, I concur. dlamichala, I have noticed a little better traction off-road in the Mostly Off Road orientation in the "tough stuff" where I need the tire to claw or scoop the media. I only found the info on the australian site for example here motoz.com.au/product/tractionator-rallz-2/ The tubeless tire recommends a width of 2.5, whereas the tubed says 1.85. The US site makes no mention of this, and neither do most vendors - what this means is I got a Tubeless tire on my T7 after I converted it to tubeless but did not realize the tire was for a fatter rim, and the tire wore out much faster than the rear tire, maybe about 1500-2000 miles. The Rear was still looking good, I believe the fact the TL tire needed a fatter rim make the profile incorrect on my bike and then it wore wrong .

      Cool, that was a good video, I saw you recommended the wider tubeless tire though, which seems like it’s made for a wider rim than the t700. I ran it but it did not last very long. Would you still recommend the wider tubeless tire? Maybe if the tubless tire is what you suggest I will try the adventure instead of the rallz and see if I get better wear.
      Also, what are your thoughts on running a 140 rear on a t700? I’ve seen folks do it, it the rim seems wide for that.

      I have run both set-ups on the T7 and I liked the turn in feel the best on the Tubeless Front and the rear in the 150 fit much better and wore much longer than the 140 which became too round to utilize all of the traction it could provide. Motoz says for the T7 the rims are "in-between" their specs and while the recommend the wider tires they sell about 50/50 to the T7 customers. The Adv front will wear WAY longer than the Rallz for sure! I went two rears to 1 front on the Adventures when mounted on my 950 Super Enduro!
