I prefer to think that the Fed helped the Klingons restore their atmosphere at Q'onos instead of moving planets. There is no Alpha canon that said Praxis was the moon of Q'onos itself, only that it was a Klingon moon. Praxis could have been farther out in the star system and just caused some damage that Carol Marcus could have figured out how to repair with her knowledge of Genesis, that's my head canon on the whole issue. Plus evacuating a planet, save that for the future Romulans, the evacuation would have been easier if they had a 'evacuate Q'onos' model to follow. I know the president mentioned evacuating Q'onos in his speech at the end of the movie, but that doesn't mean it actually happened; further more as Worf pointed out in "Unification, part 1" The klingons like to re-write their history, If they moved their planet, Picard would have known that the Klingons did this as they would have re-written that for sure!
Originally, that's what I thought too... However, Canon has proven that idea to be incorrect. With ST6 saying it was to be a 50 year evac, but also maps of the Federation on screen showing Qonos being in a different place in the 24th century! So sorry, it was definitely and Evac!
You know, I'm suddenly wondering why the Constitution class has such an relatively large navigational deflector dish. I mean, the Miranda class has two very small deflector emitters, and the Excelsior class has a much smaller dish.
Actually, the Miranda Class has a lot more than 2 deflector emitters placed all throughout its hull! And as to the size, thats what this class required!
No, as again, its pretty self explanatory... Different Classes require different Deflectors that are generally based on the technology level of when the class is created!
A great ship. It's original template is obvious, but it not only updates the design to incorporate more of the Excelsior technology but to change its role in the fleet. While you and others in the comments alluded to the evolution into the Lost era vessels. I begin to wonder about the ships from Archer's era that were updated to fill roles when the Constitution and Miranda refits were the backbone of the fleet.
Ah, the "old" Warp Scale. The one that actually made some degree of SENSE, with a sensible linear progression and no arbitrary upper limit forcing people to come up ever more decimal places after 9 to indicate speed changes. I swear, the new scale with Warp 10 being "infinite speed" was one of the all-time most asinine things introduced into Trek Lore, and I absolutely hate that it wasn't immediately disregarded as soon as ST: Voyager came out with it.
@@TriAngulumAudioStudios Was it? The Voyager episode where they introduced the "Warp 10 = Infinite Speed" idea wasn't written until 5 years after Gene Roddenberry's death. Did they take it from notes he left behind or something? Because my impression had always been that it was an invention of the Voyager writers, not Gene himself.
I dont mind it... It save us hearing ridiculous numbers like Warp 67, and scientifically it makes sense. And again, not only is it canon, but ditching it would be a slap in the face to Trek's creator!
Though I dont have too, I give every 3d Model I import (And a lot I havent made videos on yet) to the Space Engine Addon team. Their schedule for adding ships is speratic as they are working on the actual program itself... So eventually all the models will be there, but I have no control over when!
I like the NX tie-in since it uses the 23rd century "Colombia-Class" NX-refit saucer, a NX customization option I liked in STO (Along with the nacelle's)
This is honestly a minor nitpick, but I don't really like how they changed the Warp Scale for TNG. In TOS the equation was WF=cX^[3] (just take the warp factor and cube it). Simple enough. But in TNG the equation is WF=cX^[10/3] which is hard enough to calculate, and then they went and arbitrarily stuck WF10 as the maximum (which if you follow the equasion would be ~2,155c, or WF12.9 on the old scale), meaning that by the VOY era they were endlessly tacking on decimal point 9's and saying they were even higher velocities. It's just another case of the writers throwing around impressive sounding numbers and equasions not thinking the fans would actually try to figure it out.
Actually, you're wrong... It's got nothing to do with the writers, it was Gene Roddenberry that changed it! Making it a part of his TNG writers guide. Thus the writers had to follow it. You should always place blame where it's due, and know who to blame before placing it!
@@TriAngulumAudioStudios well, I consider Roddenberry was technically still one of the writers, considering he was still pretty involved with the show. But my point still stands, it was overcomplicated to keep keep things vague. But like I said, it's just a minor nitpick of mine
Uh no, LOL Roddenberry was NOT technically a writer, he was technically the Franchises Creator AND the Showrunner for TOS, TAS and TNG... Saying he was technically a writer is not only completely wrong, but also would be like saying a Heart Surgeon is a Dentist... Come on now, you know how silly that sounds. Also it's not over complicating things what he implemented, it was simplifying things. Fewer numbers, warp factors to consider etc. And put an scientific feel in to the warp scale, to make it more believable!
Which is fine, but then just say that... Don't disrespect the creator of the show to support your argument in the process... OR at the very least know the topic you're discussing and place the blame where it belongs, IE "I know Roddenberry created the New Warp Scale, and although I respect him, I just dont like it!" And PS, it's not semantics, it's fact (Roddenberry being the Creator of Trek, VS Fiction (He's just a writer)
In a ship the size of a Constitution the reactor of an Excelsior class would make for an extremely potent design in terms of its speed and military prospects with the same class of weaponry given its lower mass as well as making a smaller target with a lower crew count than you would expect of the larger Excelsior class design. It would most likely lack the range of an Excelsior class (being limited in terms of storage space by its smaller design which would probably be more cramped than ever with the large Excelsior class reactor) as well as lacking the scientific and facilities. It seems to me that this would be a great patrol ship or escort but it seems unlikely that a ship matching such a description would be a great fit for re-locating a population or building facilities (at least not without some freighter support, in which case why not have the freighter do it?) due to the aforementioned limited storage space.
@@TriAngulumAudioStudios Yep, and the Kodai is the Federation starfighter from an older Star Trek game, but I can't think of the name of it at the moment. It was given a name by the developers of STO.
