Even moving all the offices and shops and presumably businesses or other services , probably residents, of course staff... Makes you wonder what they did for interim facilities. :)

2:38 your telling here that the galaxy class can’t fit in the original earth space dock. But de Enterprise D was housed in bay 12 when the original sol station was at aethen prime.
I don't get why anyone would feel that housing a planetary shield generator on a space station is a good idea. If I could of had a say in this: ESD is the first line shields, the second layer planet-based generators, then regional, and finally local. But, hey this is Star Trek, not Warhammer 40K... oh, well.
I wish someone would explain the damage on the Enterprise after Wrath of Kahn. I get we probably didn't see everything for budget reason. However we see during the first attack, Spock 🖖 (I couldn't resist. Can't believe that popped up.) points out other areas that were hit. Maybe crescendo damage?
Does Sol Station still exist by the time of Star Trek Discovery? Was it ceded to Earth? I cannot recall if I saw it when they had episodes focused on Earth (without giving away spoilers).
Then what you know is WRONG! ESD or Earth Spacedock was first seen in Star Trek III: The Search for Spock, this is NOT that base! As the video is clear about it, and it is canon, you need to move forward, as this NEW station is called Sol Station not ESD!
Only thing I didnt like about SOL station in Picard season 3 was it seemed to be repaired to easily in the "One year later" thing. They should have had a little work still being done to fix it.
Why? It actually makes sense that it wouldn't take long to repair... Im sure the Borg only wanted to damage it and take down its shields but still keep it intact for their use...
How so? To my knowledge, there's only 1 Starfleet Assets that ever received a full refit, and it was a ship! My guess is they learned from that horrible experience!
Why do the Ships need to maintain a Warp Bubble and be under constant Engine power, if there's no inertia in Space. The impulse engines work as what we could make. Are the Solar Winds so bad that constant Engine power is needed. Without doing any research, it seems to be an inaccurate understanding,in my Mind.
No, it needs to maintain a warp bubble because faster than light travel is not possible in normal space... Thus the "bubble" transfers the ship to a layer of space where the laws of physics, like Einsteins Law of relativity, does not apply, allowing the ship to travel at faster than light speeds!
What was the trek designers point of incorporating solid "hanger doors" on the Sol space station instead of just using integrity shields the same as we see on ships shuttle bays when shuttles enter and exit the bay? At least with ships we can say that the solid doors make sense since a shuttle bay or cargo bay is a far smaller space with environmental systems such as artificial gravity and life support so those bay doors, while perhaps still not essential, offers a sort of redundancy safety feature should the integrity shield fail or the power is needed to be diverted for some emergency requirements. However we can't say that's the reason for a ginormous space station having these solid bay doors vs simply having shields and integrity fields protecting the points of entrance/exits for ships. After all, we've seen enough movies and episodes where it's clear that the internal space where ships dock and are serviced has neither an artificial gravity nor environmental systems offering breathable air etc. No, it appears as a zero gravity environment like space for intents and purposes, as we see people in space suits floating about as they carry out maintenance, and small craft and connection hubs ferrying people to and from ships and areas within the station, though we could probably assume that this internal space is at least protected from harmful space radiation and debris.
They dont use shields for various reasons... Environmental Solar Discharges, Radiation, Lower power cost especially when under attack! Doors make sense, and even ships with force fields STILL have/ use doors!
@TriAngulumAudioStudios Didn't you say this station has no less than 10 advanced power generators enough to power the entire planets shielding? Do the math for the diameter of the Earth and how ginormous the diameter of a shield bubble around that would be(ridiculous proposition tbh) so I think it can handle maintaining shields and force fields across the ship access openings to the station, and don't forget, it's not like a shield failure would decompress the internal docking area of the space station unlike the shuttle/cargo bay of a ship which has a fully functioning artificial environment within in with gravity and air. There's no such concerns with the space station. Should such energy based shielding fail, nothing happens, the internal space for ships is effectively space without gravity or air. You could say the solid doors on the space station offer additional shielding if they are indeed armored and to be fair they do look incredibly thick. The older or "original" Sol station is more interesting in that regards since it was pre-abladive armor and a Constitution era(perhaps even pre-constitution?) so I'm not sure what the Trek lore is for that era in regards armor plating on ships and stations, if any. Certainly the way the Borg cutting beam casually cut a several deck deep section out of a far newer Galaxy-Class(albeit an exploration vessel with families, pets and restaurants etc) in less than a second would probably suggest that the original Sol stations bay doors offered very little in regards protection in the event of an energy shield and forcefield failure outside of a "the opening is covered, we're safe!" placebic nothing.
You should know that EVERY bit of power counts in battle! Also, my understanding of the base is that the interior could be pressurized for certain starship procedures, but even if it couldn't, doors still make sense... You make a lot of assumptions in your comments that just aren't able to be proven, IE the thickness of the hull... You dont know how thick it is and in the 23rd Century weve seen starships hot by weaponry and only have a little blackening on the Hull... So you dont know the amount of protection this hull gives... Also in future please pay better attention to the video, as it says that the 10 fusion generators work in concert with planetary based shield generator ls... So it isnt the station that is generating the shield bubble, but it IS controlling it and Earths defenses! Anyhow again doors make sense for so many reasons on a facility like this... Take care! (THREAD CLOSED- No further comments will appear to prevent OP from continuing an incorrect circular argument)

Take care!

Sol as in doll not "Soul" Station
Sorry, you are completely incorrect! dictionary.cambridge.org/pronunciation/english/sol Besides, your services as pronunciation police are neither desired, nor required, Im doing just fine without you, as you being incorrect proves! LOL
this guy is wrong tri said it right
Thank you! I know I did... Some people are just jealous and look to try to knit pick as much as they can, even when they're completely wrong, because they simply can't do what I do! :)
And yet it got it's ass had to it by the borg in 2401.
Uh No! It fought off an entire fleet of Starfleet Ships for a LONG time before it valiantly fell...
