- I realized we hadn't talked very much about the pregnancy so far and since we're already in the third trimester it's about time :) I posted to Instagram asking for all your pregnancy questions and you sent in such great ones that made filming this video a real joy. I talk about our birth plan, the gender of the baby, how our dog Freja is handling the pregnancy, what supplements I'm taking (more on that in an upcoming video!), and how our relationship is evolving during the pregnancy.

YES YES YES! please do a full training vid. I've been training my kitten based on watching some of the things you have done with Freya, and it's BRILLIANT!
He sits and waits to be fed until release command, and are working on having him sit before getting anything he wants. It works!!! He's still not yet a year, but does so well and I'm so grateful for what you have shared about Freya, so YES, please do explaination on thought processes of how to get her to do what you want, etc. ♥ tyyyyyyy (he also does other tricks like sit, stay, come and place, high-five, give kisses, and is learning to walk on a harness in public btw!)

I'm really glad to see all of you thriving! I imagine it's a totally different experience as a couple and as a new dog owner, but seeing your partnership evolve throughout the years is such a beautiful thing. Obviously your relationship will soon have new challenges, but also new learnings and so so so much love involved. The fact that you don't make the gender question such a big deal already shows you plan to raise a little human with their own ideas, perspectives and personality, not an "extent" or replica of you two, which is common in parenthood. Ps: Freja is such a cute pup I can't get over the face she makes between Lou's commands. Have a great sunday!

Really love your perspectives on being parents, gender, and everything in between. Freja looks like she is doing so well with training! It's such a commitment to have a well trained dog but so worth it in the long run. A training update video would be great.
Back after listening to the podcast. Wow! Amazing time, but even better, you two said something very profound, I resonated with. First about getting on the train, watching the land fly by, having no 'control of the journey' and you can't get off till you get to the destination. My parallel was going through pancreatic/common bile duct cancers. I was told, 12/2011, sent "to the platform and was shuffled onto the train" with no say, time to panic, fear, research..... No journey is as mentally challenged as the one you have no experience or control.
I know that's odd to relate, but it clicked.
Second, being mindful, in present, GRATEFUL. God reminds me daily of His grace. I survived what 98% die of. It is humbling beyond comprehension, I went through survivor guilt, mind boggling as well as (repeat) gratefulness and humbled.

Very happy for you both! 💜i had a home birth, 39 years ago next month! So fortunate, with three midwives! Two were apprentices. ( some years later, my son’s partner discovered her mom’s midwife was the same person! ) I am two
months away from being “officially” an elder, and honestly feel as if I might be entering a third ( and maybe my best) life.

I just love the pacing in your videos. I know it's an extension of your lifestyle too, but man it's so refreshing. I found myself slowing down and breathing deeper in this one. Especially loved the pauses with the over head shots of the truck (that was moment I breathed) and the pineapple too for some reason I really enjoyed! Food for the soul you guys. You folks are so inspirational. I find it very relieving (if that makes sense) watching you both. Your mindsets and way of living are refreshing. It makes a huge difference in my life because it inspires me to be free in a sense to be me. There is so much i love about life and i am grateful. It helps me through several health conditions. I am going vegan and have been for a few months now and its been very helpful! I feel much better. So thank you. Lovely video as usual. I’m so happy for you both that you’ve had a good pregnancy and are having a midwife and home birth. I had five births and two were home births, which I definitely preferred. It’s so nice to be in your own space, eating your own food, and being tended to by an experienced midwife! I know I was much more relaxed and comfortable, which definitely aids the birth process. Love to you and your little one! I am so impressed at Freja and your training - she is a beautiful companion. 💗 from Pennsylvania!

I started following your channel when you bought Penelope, and really am mostly interested in mobile living and the things related to that.
Truthfully, I don't have much interest in many of the topics of late - not to say they're not interesting - just not particularly my cup of tea.
And yet I find it helps to broaden my horizons and expand my knowledge of things that are none the less usually very practical.

I guess I've continued to follow along with you, sometimes asking myself why, but always realizing sooner or later, that I get hit with the Charm that just seems to bubble up to the surface through your tales.
I feel like you two are personal friends, who lead different lives from the one I lead, or even hope to lead, and yet I'm still interested to know what you're getting up to, and how you're keeping.

Thanks. You've made such large successes with Freja. She's worlds ahead of my Jack. We've been in daily training for 5 or 6 months with such slow progress. He is 7 which makes a difference, but I would really like to see more progress like you have with Freja.

When baby does decide to come, it’ll be the most magical moment of your lives 💗We are about to have our 2nd home birth (and baby) in May-ish too. I feel you on the “due date”. Baby will come when they want 😅 Homebirth was the best decision we made last time. Sleeping in your own bed after is the BEST! Just remember to try your best to relax during labor and your body was made to birth your baby 💗💗💗

Trying not to have Freja be too protective is definitely going to be a challenge. Zira is crazy protective of kids even if we don't know them. There was a little boy crying and in timeout outside one day when we were at a park and she ran up to him, sat down beside him, and refused to move until he stopped crying.
The natural protective instinct in these pups is so intense and really can be so beautiful too 💗

Viewing this was wonderful, exciting and so calming, all at the same time! Your cravings and aversions were interesting. I found all I wanted was tons of kale and some salty crisps. My hyperemesis was awful, so glad your nausea stopped when it did. Looking forward to the next update. X
I have a Shepherd mix dog not German but Australian Shepherd and Blue heeler mix is very important with the shepherd dogs that if you do play dates make sure they're similar breeds because they have similar temperaments I think the biggest concern is when baby is eating or has food on their fingers or there's anything with food and the baby is concerned freya of course will be a lot older by the time baby is eating on their own. And last but not least one of my favorite affirmations is everything is always working out for me.

Wooohoo! We align so much on our birth plans. We also were 100% vegan (still are, as are the kids) during pregnancies and breastfeeding. Also planned natural births with a mid-wife (normal pregnancies and good health). Our first was at the mid-wives office (basically a hotel room for us) and the second was an accidental home birth (which was wonderful! Just hubby and I).
Your body knows what to do 💕

Your everyday life that you film for the last several years is always busy and you prep, research and do so many things inn your every day, that having a baby will be a natural progression for you two and of course a great addtion to your life. You two will have to meet up with the Bucket List Family as I belive they live in HI and have been traveling and filming for years with all three of their children. Sooo happy that your pregnancy has been smooth sailing & that your To Do list has evolved to become more efficient, vis a vis divide & conquer strategies, since efficiency will become more & more important now. Even happier to hear about your plan to raise a beautiful child without imposing unnecessary, gendered limits. We opted for our gender surprise at birth and planned to encourage all the same experiences for our child, regardless of gender… sports, musical instruments, sewing, camping, cooking, reading, scientific exploration, art…. To be honest, though, I really wanted a girl… I imagined a future with my little feminist mini-me. I got exactly what I’d hoped for: 19 wonderful years raising an empathetic, industrious, adventurous, curious, artistic, athletic, smart, dynamic, musical, sparkling authentic AFAB child. But now, our sparkly child, always the brave one, is transitioning toward his most authentic self, the happy son I didn’t know I wanted. His Dad & I recognize, anew, that we are the luckiest parents on the planet. And although we’re proud of his bravery in transitioning towards his most authentic self, his gender is the least significant aspect of who he is, of who we love. I love your way of thinking about gender, and names and parenting. Though if I had one tip it would be to have a couple of spare names ready just in case, once your baby is here, and you meet them, the name you've chosen doesn't suit! I have a grandson who is almost a year old (Lennie), and his mum is vegan. I'm looking forward to seeing your family grow and change.
Oh - and I love how well behaved Freya is! Well done to you for getting her to this stage so young. She's an absolute credit to you and your hard work. I think you should produce a whole "How to train a puppy" video, Lou, so that whenever anyone I know gets a new puppy I can direct them to it and not have to put up with ill-behaved dogs who spend their lives being shouted at and told off!

Could you do an after video, maybe after birth and like 6 months after to tell us how your body is and what changed? I am really scared of the aftermath of birth and would love an update on that if you feel comfortable sharing.
Yes I would love a full dog training video! We have a four month old puppy and it is a challenge - you make it look so easy! ps - I gave birth naturally 3X, two of them home water births and I highly recommend a water birth for the weightlessness to push in a squat but I know you will rock your birth even without the water...

For goodness sake with the baby be as efficient as possible, one cook and clean, the other sort out baby, shop for a few days at a time, cook and freeze at least a few meals in case you have a bad / tiring day.
Good morning dear friends! I am so very sorry for not tuning in in the last several videos but life has been a rollercoaster of adventures on our end as well. We had the virus in early January and that we thought went well - like the normal flu - but here we are in the middle of March and I am still having wheezing and breathing issues that I have never had before. 2 antibiotics, 1 steroid, 1 inhaler, and yet nothing works. I tend to treat with holistic approaches more and Ayurveda but even that has failed. I am developing intolerance towards our cats and the funny thing is I tested negative for pet allergies in January. I just hope I get back to normal and my histamines cool down, because it breaks my heart not being able to pet my 🐈 cats. So it's a mystery illness I guess, which kind of sucks because I feel so exhausted all the time, no matter what I do. Stan is having an issue stop but not as bad. So we have taken life slowly, one day at a time. I am planning to start a very long fruit fast and record the progress as I go so that I can help others, and hopefully, that will heal the issue, I am very happy to see the answers on vitamin supplements because I hope after the fast to try for a baby too, I am 37 and Stan 38 so it's about time. It just seems that the moment is never right.
Speaking if nutrition and eating - I am forever grateful for all your recommendations, also the coconut curry video you have - this has been a staple for many months in our house! So thank you! Do more of that when you can! We can't wait for the book to come out too 🍓🍓🍓
We are very happy to see how you are progressing with life in Hawaii in general. We are also super excited to hear that it's a baby boy. But like you we also believe no matter what they are or define as one day in life we will love them the same way!
Midwives are the best my best friend here is a doula/midwife and she is so good. She had her 5th baby just 6 weeks ago and it's finally a girl. She is so happy. She loves kids so much, and she is a music therapist but this is just her calling. So indeed it's a great choice that you have made!

Things in Oklahoma are interesting this season, over the last month, and in the upcoming, we will have several changes.
Last week I became an American citizen after being on a green card for 5 years and Stans's date is next week! It was a journey and a very long process but it is so worth it to call America our home! So now I have to register to vote and do other things like baby steps. The war in Europe scares us because Bulgaria is not far away, and we hope Stans family is safe.
Another news is that We have helped a little fella in Uganda with his studies - he is 3 and that makes us so happy! Being able to offer a life of education for a kid is priceless!
I am also planning to leave my job sometime soon, I am worried as we are just regular family, and while I am very scared for this step me and Stan think it's best when the body needs to rest and heal. So I am worried but at the same time, I am hoping it's the right thing to do. Forgive me the update is long, and I hope you have a chance to read my news update too as we missed your faces and we're happy to see this new video today!

I'm not gonna bother you, just want to say GOD bless You the Baby Lou & Freya, hope you still well during the whole pregnancy 🙏, also as a doctor i should say this: instead of supplements you can search on the Internet about the vegetables which contains the same ingredients in the supplements (BUT IT'S NATURAL) keep eating or eat a lot of citrus fruits beet roots and a lot of fatty food "like avocado, i was gonna say salmon fish but you're vegan sorry 😅" which contains omegas vitamins minerals etc, also GINGER and CURCUMIN and PEPPER "u can eat bell pepper if you don't like hot pepper, any kind of pepper 'cuz all of them contains pepperine' " ALL what I've wrote contains probiotics which feeds the prebiotic (the good bacteria in the stomach and the small intestines) that makes the immune system strong also makes your body strong 'OF COURSE" and the baby will be super healthy (GOD BLESS HIM), TO ALL OF YOU WHIS YOU THE BEST 😊
