HOKA ONE ONE Rincon 3 | FULL REVIEW | Has The Durability Improved?
Вставка
- Опубліковано 15 лип 2021
- The stoke level is always high for the HOKA ONE ONE Rincon, as it has quickly become a fan favorite of the HOKA lineup over the last couple years. The good news for the Rincon 3 is that they've shaved some weight off last year's version, while adding a bit more rubber to the outsole while supposedly increasing the durability of the midsole. The upper is more stripped-down, which is both good and bad, depending on what you like. That said, it still comes in at a reasonable $115. Available now for pre-order in all four colorways.

We run legit miles in our shoes and provide honest, no BS reviews of running shoes, running gear, and running races. - Спорт
Color is amazing. I was always hesitant to purchase previous versions due to wear and breakdown issues. Rebel v2 still the best do it all shoe for me but I will have to try this Rincon on. Great content guys.
Rincon 2 was my favorite shoe - even as someone with a wider foot. I got 300 miles out of it and it still had rubber. It just worked for me and my foot. IMO it's way better than the Mach 4. The Mach 4 seems like you are running in mud compared to the Rincon.
I had both and fully agree. Rincon 2 was my favorite!
Great review. I've held back buying the Rincon due to the durability issues; but this model might be worth a try!
My Rincon 1 also went flat at 150 miles. It seemed so common as to be almost almost programmed. The men’s color of this v.3 is very eye catching. I feel the same about the launch color of the Zinal.
Hoka is finally getting into the fun color ways. Hope they keep it up.
Great video guys. Need to give these a go, I loved my Rincon 2 but very interested to hear some reports on durability!
New BITR video? I smash that like button!!!
I loved my Rincons (multiple pairs) but I was one of those that totally shredded the outsoles. Love the color combos on these 3’s. Even at $115 I’m not sure I’ll buy…maybe wait until it dips well below $100
I put almost 900km with my Rincon 1 and they were great until over 600kms, then I just used them for easy days. Excited for this new version, looks like a great update.
Wow. Sound amazing u get 600km and more.
Loving that first colorway🔥🔥
Hope a Between Two Shoes segment pitting this with the Novablast 2. Though very different characteristics, but both seemingly versatile.
I can't believe they have a Rincon 3 already! The running shoe market is insane! There's a real demand for a walk-in store that can assess your biomechanics and tell you what you need. It's so specialized nowadays, which is okay, but we need very professional salesmen. There should be charts on the wall showing how the shoes fit into the design scheme of each company. It took me forever to figure out Hoka's carbon x-Mach-Rincon-Clifton-Arahi-Bondi-Gaviota matrix. I still don't understand all the differences.
Try stopping into a Fleet Feet store. They have a Fit ID that you stand on that evaluates your foot size, width, arch height, ball girth, heel width, etc. And, they also determine your gait- i.e.-neutral, pronation or supination. Also, I find that the people who work there are very knowledgeable about the differences in running shoe models within brands.
100% agree. We need more professional salesmen - women who knows what we need and what they can offer.
That color way is fire! 🔥
Hoka also finally gave it wide options, I'm definitely going to pick this one up
I just commented this too🤣
Rincon: beach town in Puerto Rico. Huge on surfing. Amazing weather, beautiful beach and beautiful people!!! The shoe: so far it’s great. My 1st pair of @hoka. I don’t put as many miles as you guys, but I love to be comfortable and make sure I run in a great shoe 😊.
Glad I skipped version 2. I ran over 100K with mine and they still feel good, raced my first and 2nd hm in them. Seems like Hoka is finally working on improving their midsole so this is exciting.
Rincon 1 was perfect fit for me, rincon 2 felt like it got narrower and I struggled with tightness over the top of the shoe, did you find this version a touch wider?
Did you guys experience any of that similar durability concern, when you tested Mach 4? I had the same “flat midsole” feel with Rincon 2 around 150 mi in. I don’t know if that was a specific thing with Rincon, or just a Hoka thing in general.
Hoka colourways just make me happy
2nd! coloured midsoles are still for the win!
My rincon 3 are going back , but getting 2 more pairs of nike renew ride 2 the energy, and feel is amazing u just want to keep going
Thanks for the review. How is the fit in the toe box? In the Machs prior to the 4, I wore a 11, but had to go with a 11.5 on the 4s. These look from the video like the sizing of the original machs.
The Mach 4 has replaced both my cliftons and rincons… sounds like u haven’t convinced me that the rincon has more durability
Rincon is also a very popular beach / surfing town in the western part of Puerto Rico.
Got the Rincon 2. Firm ride with a bit of response. 175 miles in. The mid and rear of the shoe is still absorbing and a little bouncy, but the forefoot is now flat. I've set PB's in this shoe, and it's a warm weather shoe I feel. But tbh it has not matched some of the reviews I've seen. I think it's rather cheap in manufacturing terms.. The insole is basically a flat piece of rubber. Compared to competitors I feel doesn't cut the mustard ... Won't be buying the 3. Good review gents, and keep growing the moustache past the chin...,😊👌🏾
Agree - my 5k PB was with it. Light and bouncy, but it wore out soon.
What shoe would you think is the competitor to the Rincon 2?
@@j.w.matney8390 Mach 4 much better shoe
I have the rincon 3 in this color way and it is by far the best looking shoe that they have made. I wish they made cooler color ways
The Rincon finally comes in Wide size, huge kudos for that for us wide foot people
Hey Guys, thank you for the Video. Any update to the durability?
The Rincon a bit of sleeper shoe. Great value super light but nice amount of cushion for pushing out those PBs. Kelly Slater the surfer 🏄♂️ dude would dig this shoe 👟
I am curious why the stack height changed from the 1and 2. Like this colorway, definitely not into the pepto-pink women's version, although some of the other women's colorways are ok.
@beliveintherun, which do like better the Rincon 3 or the Asics Evoride 2?
Rincon 2 looks slightly wider than the 1 when you held them side by side. So far, my favorite shoe from Hoka is hands down the Mach 4. Comfort, spring and lockdown make it super confidence inspiring and motivated to run. Definite improvement in the new colorways for the Rincon 3 though!!! Great review, enjoyed watching and thx for the comparo
They look 🔥!
I got my Rincon v1 to over 400 miles, but yeah they did not do their magic at that end 😅
Would you recommend them for those with PF problems ?
That colorway is fantastic. Only thing holding me back is durability and being able to at least get it to 300 miles. Hope you guys can put more miles on it for an update review.
I already have 60 on them. So far they seem pretty good. Might use them for this weekends miles. -T
What would u recommend the Mach 4 or the Rincon 3? I’m looking for comfort, grip, but also smooth and fast. I want firm but smooth, and foam, but not super squishy or high above the ground. Great vid anyone plz reply to this, not just the creators
I've ran 220 miles in the Rincon 2, and 60 in the Mach 4. The Mach 4 all the way my friend. Much better comfort and all round quality and fit. Still light and smooth. Yeah Yeah Yeah 😊👍🏾
Quick question: One of you (Robbe?) mentioned that he felt his foot was coming over the medial side. I get the same response when I am walking in these shoes, and the inward roll effect is significant. Is this by design, or could it be a mfg defect? Thanks!
Any update on the durability? Very curious to see if you can put 300 miles on these shoes
Are we going to see a Structure 23 / 24 review? Most underappreciated shoe this year imho.
PLS YES
I'm having a hard time locking my heels down in the Rincon 3. I get a blister on my heels every run. I'm already doing the heel lock, and have 120 miles on the shoe. I want to love this shoe, but need it to love me back. Does anyone have suggestions?
Trivia: "Rincon" also means "corner" in Spanish. Thanks for the review.
What brand are the red socks please? Thanks
4th multi coloured midsoles is where it's at
Hokas always feel weird in the midfoot/arch area for me. I definitely get the spill over effect
Same here. They destroy and blister my foot arch
Same even in Wide size
could you start including how many miles you or your testers got in the shoes toward the beginning of the review, I think that would help us understand the whole experience you had in the shoe better
Sometimes we do, but it's minimum 20. Depending where we are in training can go to 60 and sometimes we'll get a couple hundred in a shoe we love but the reviews have to go out earlier than that. Thanks for watching!
Where are you getting your specs from? Hoka website says Rincon 2 was 7.7oz not 8.5? Rincon 3 heel drop is 5mm, not 4mm.
We weigh the shoes ourselves and Hoka gave us the drop stats.
Intro gotta Ben Parks Vibe Bruh for real!😏🤙
How doe this compare to the rebel2 and liberate?
And. I’m looking for a light road sneaker, I run and walk about 100 miles a month. Is this a tan for me :)? Anynody? Thx :)
Jeff Spicoli is probably there now!
Oh a Hoka I’m actually interested in.🏃♂️🤘😎
Would you consider the feel to be similar to that of the Epic Reacts?
This Rincon was the first shoe I ran in after Epic Reacts and I’d say they’re very similar! Obviously HOKA has a wider upper, but in terms of cushion it’s a lot like the Epic React.
Dude sounds like Harvey from Suits! They also looks a bit similar, are they related?
Hi,i think you guys have only the rincon 2 there...both the blue and red are the second version....none of these is the first version....keep up the good work!Thanx for the information!!!!
The red is for sure the first version, they just look exactly the same
www.believeintherun.com/hoka-one-one-rincon-performance-review/
dude Robby's moustache is exquisite
Lol !!!!!
Is there a tool or a rating mechanism that can measure the durometer of the midsole?
The durometer lol. That’s the name of the tool
@@christiangroendyk7198 lol fair enough. Does anyone actually measure it other than the companies themselves?
@@RyansRunningReviewsYT no idea. Would be cool though, for an objective comparison of midsoles
@@RyansRunningReviewsYT Alex Filiti here on UA-cam. He does shoe reviews as has a durometer.
It will take a hell of a shoe to pull me away from the Mach 4. You can use it for everything.
I’ve tried Bondis, Cliftons, Rincons, and Torrents and unless I’m on the trails I’m putting on the Mach 4.
No disagreements here
I've got about 80 miles on this shoe. The jury is out on how long it will be before the midsole dies. I use it as a tempo shoe. I will probably find another shoe to use as a tempo shoe.
When are we getting the Bondi X review?
Like any minute
my fav brand
Narrow shoe?. Had the II and After a short period the Rincon started crushing my forefoot. Initially seemed fine but I tried a trail 13.1 on it and the last 3+ i had to keep stopping to take it off to let my foot wake up. Couldn't fix that despite lacing different ways
Yeah pretty narrow
To me, it's still the Rincon 1.3
Hoka needs new midsole tech. Everyone else has it. They don't get a free pass.
facts
facts
First! Colored midsoles for the win!!!
What about sizing I wear a 10.5 in Saucony should I get the same size?
Yes
Take my money Hoka
Does anyone know what watch Thomas is wearing?
Coros Apex Pro
Hoka claims that the upper of version 3 is very breathable. It looks much thicker and less breathable than version 1.
i want a robbie with some shorts shorts and a loooong t shirt
Y'all use it as a fly swatter, but don't mention how well it works as one in the video? I feel ripped off.
Can we hit you up on the shell phone?
So the question still remains guys....what about its durability? 150 miles in iteration number 3? How bout posting up when you guys get to 2 and 300 plus miles, so we can make a truly informed decision? 115 bucks for a shoe that's only gunna go 150 miles just ain't worth it, no way. Not even worth it if I can only get 250. I'm not made of cash.
loooks fiiiiiiire!
does this version come in a wide cut?
Yes
FINALLY! THANK YOU!
i don't need them but i really want a pair. ffs
Jamie goes mad without a pull tab....
I don't like the tongue. It is much thinner than the first version.
Guys. Put the shoes on a stand and pick them up only when you have to. You naturally tend to fidget with them and twirl, them and then when you gesticulate with them in your hands it gets a bit distracting and annoying.
It's called a lace garage.
The lace garage is the pocket on the tongue you can tuck the lace in.
Believe in the Run That actually makes more sense.
My family is from Rincon (Puerto Rico!!!!) its the best beach ever
Tongue loop
I don't get HOKA. Their EVA Shoes clearly aren't up for it.
Third!!! Colored midsoles are the bane of our existence and the first two commenters are wrong
And you just drop in and smack the lip HWAPAH drop down smack the BAAAAAH then after that you just drop in, just ride the barrel and get pitted, so pitted...
I want to live that dude's life for one day
