    Steve, great review and background on the purpose of the rincon. I was confused on this vs Clifton, nobody has described it better.

    I just love everything with my multiple pairs of Rincon 1 and 2s, except that they wear out super fast, much faster than my Cliftons or other models or brands. I get about 450km (280M) or 5-6 weeks out of them. Just retired my third pair.
    Keep the good vids comin'!

      This iteration of the Rincon added some more rubber to the soles and looks like it should be a more durable shoe than its predecessors.

    Do you prefer the Clifton 8 or the rincon 3? I’m trying to decide between the two for daily walking. I have the Mach 4 for running and really like those. Just wanted to add: after watching the whole video I ordered the Rincon from you. Thanks so much for this video!

    • @RunMoore
      @RunMoore  3 роки тому +2

      If you like the Mach, you may have a preference for the Rincon, but the Clifton is our more popular Hoka of this group for walking. It has a little more cushion than either the Mach or Rincon but is still very light and has a rolling motion.

    never had a rincon so far but tempted with this one. i've skipped the latest clifton, seemed to vanilla to me.
    anyways i'd love to see a succesor for the (evo) Rehi. have you heard anything along those line, Mr Moore?

    • @RunMoore
      @RunMoore  3 роки тому +2

      Unfortunately, there will not be a successor to that shoe as far as we know. However, if you liked that shoe, the Rincon is the closest shoe in the Hoka catalog to the Rehi. The Rincon has a slightly higher drop (1mm) and weighs a marginal amount more.

    Hi Steve. I’m running a half marathon soon and I’m looking for a shoe that can go quick but with comfort. I’m thinking of buying these. Any advice would be great. Thanks 👍🏻 also I was thinking I could use them for my tempo runs as well.

    • @RunMoore
      @RunMoore  3 роки тому +2

      The Rincon is definitely a great option for that, they are light but well cushioned for longer races and are quite responsive.

    Any chance you can do a video on 4E running and trail shoes? Doesn't seem to be many out there.

    • @RunMoore
      @RunMoore  3 роки тому

      As far as Hokas go, I believe the only shoe they have that comes in 4E is the Bondi.

  • @gosekinz
    @gosekinz 3 роки тому +4

    Hokas problem is they're too narrow - the Rincon is narrow and straight cut - Hoka's other problem is the Clifton keeps gaining weight - originally it was the lightest thing out there - pretty much every model since has added weight and just moved away from that initial formula. I don't think I'll be going back to Hoka any time soon.
    Thanks for the review.

    • @RunMoore
      @RunMoore  3 роки тому +2

      You might want to look into Altras, particularly the Riveras or Torins if you are looking for a lightweight neutral shoe that is on the wider side. I recommend sizing up in both of these models.

    • @gosekinz
      @gosekinz 3 роки тому +1

      @suspicionofdeceit I pretty much ONLY run in Altras now .. good call

    I have a marathon coming up and trying to decide between Rincon 3 and Clifton 8 - your suggestion? I currently have both the Rincon 2 and Clifton 7 and like them both.

    • @RunMoore
      @RunMoore  3 роки тому +1

      The Rincon is definitely lighter but still has enough cushion for a race of this distance. It is also more responsive, so I would recommend that shoe.

    Great review as usual! What is your guess on the amount of miles one could expect to get from this shoe? Thanks!

    • @RunMoore
      @RunMoore  3 роки тому +2

      Depending on the person and the surface, anywhere between 300-600 miles.

    Hi Steve , between Mach 4 vs rincon 3 . Which one is better for soft and responsive ride ? And ultra lightweight

    • @RunMoore
      @RunMoore  3 роки тому +1

      The Rincon will probably be your best bet there; it is a little softer than the Mach.

    I wonder how the Rincon 3 stacks against the Fuel Cell Rebel V2?

    • @RunMoore
      @RunMoore  3 роки тому +1

      Both of them are light neutral shoes with a bit of a rolling motion, but the Rincon is definitely a firmer cushion and has a little bit of a higher arch profile.

  • @jaredsnyder8108
    @jaredsnyder8108 2 роки тому

    I’m usually in between size 12.5 and 13. I have a high arch and a high instep. In most altras I wear 12.5 but in ONs I wear a 13. What size should I order in these?

    • @RunMoore
      @RunMoore  2 роки тому +1

      I would stick with the 12.5

    • @RunMoore
      @RunMoore  3 роки тому +2

      It definitely can be used as an everyday shoe, particularly for petit-framed people who find the Bondi and Clifton to be too much shoe.

  • @thepostalcadet253

    My question is that the clifton's have an annoying arch in the sole that gives me blisters on the sides of my feet, I heard that the Rincon 3 now also has that same arch in the sole. The previous rincon one and two didn't give me this issue but I am concerned that the rincon 3 may have changed??

    • @RunMoore
      @RunMoore  3 роки тому +1

      The Rincon has a relatively substantial arch profile, if you are looking for a more low profile Hoka, the Mach is comparable to the Rincon but has a lower arch profile.
