    I recently picked up the rincon 2s as they are on offer now, and I love how light and nimble they are. Stable underfoot, and like you say the only real issue is durability as the outsole already has cosmetic damage. But I’d rather have a few of these than a tank like shoe that I don’t enjoy running in. Then again I’m also a fan of the atreyu base model, which is also super light and bouncy, but the outsole wears as there is no rubber to be seen.

    As I typed in a response to another poster, I ran with the Rincon 1. Initially, I disliked them. They seemed stiff, unforgiving (I'm a somewhat heavier runner because I do it for boxing, not because it is my main sport). But then something clicked and I looovvveeedd them and took them to 200 miles, after which they suddenly became stiff and dead. Outsole was not too bad at this point. Anyway, it seems the Rincon 3s bring a different ride, and your video got me interested (I passed on the 2 because while I loved the OG version, I wanted to try something different and they seemed to bring nothing new). Your review got me excited, I love shoes that can be comfy on tired legs yet responsive/playful when you pick up the pace.

    I find the way Hoka have the foam cupping the foot at the sides leads to blisters along the side of the foot. An absolutely massive blister in a pair of Clifton 3s doing the London marathon a few years back. As a heavier runner I'd definitely agree with you about wear, on the outsole as much as the foam.

    So glad I found your review! Someone gave me a recommendation for the clifton 8. (Usually a nike gal) More I've read up on the different Hoka's the Rincon seems like it would be better for me. Very small women, 4feer 9inches tall only 90lbs. I have the reacts right now. There ok, light enough, but I like the cush if the pegs, but feel just a tad heavy. I ordered the Rincon 3 today, same color black and white. Just looks good with everything.

    If the EVA on the Rincon 3 is anything like the exposed EVA sole of the Mach 4, its longevity should be good. But true on the EVA use might come to an end for Hoka. I am beginning to feel bottoming after 500kms on the Mach 4, meanwhile I hit 850kms on the pebax foamed Saucony. But that weight on the Rincon 3 is so compelling, I might give it a whirl if you intend to do a long run review.

    • @michaellopour7409

    I was a huge rincon fan for v1, had 3 pairs….and 2 pairs of cliftons…. Good duo… but Now I’m a big fan of the Mach4, seems to be good for easy, long and moderate speed work down to about 10k pace… 5k and below I opt for a peddler addidas shoe either the sl20v1 or adios adizero 4ish. At 360ish mile on my Mach 4, and about to get into another heavy marathon training block so might switch them out to middle distance and below and roatate in a m4’s fresh pair for long runs just to be safe… I bet the foam will keep going to 450-500miles.

    • @EDDBUD
      @EDDBUD  3 роки тому

I've just bought a pair of them and in my US 10.5 (normal width) the right foot weighs 234g Heavier than I expected, a bit of disappointment cause it's advertised as super lightweight shoes.
