Today I’m discussing a frequently asked topic, which is: Can you texlax relaxed hair? How do you transition from relaxed hair to texlaxed hair? This video is for the gal who is relaxed and is thinking about texlaxing her hair.
In this video, I am going to be sharing all you need to need to transition safely, including advice on picking products, reading ingredients and understanding the seriousness of transitioning to texlaxed hair.

I am texlaxed and use mild and regular Design Essential alternate and recieve 1-2x a year.I believe you just have to find that sweet spot for how long you it on ..because we all have different hair..I believe not going over 15 mins with application no matter what for my hair..She rinsed relaxer before 15 mins each time.
Arlita design essentials is such a great line! As you know I leave mine on for 12 mins to achieve my results. You’re so right, finding your sweet spot is KEY! Thanks for sharing boo. ❤️
Hi, I found this video very useful. I want to transition from relaxed to texlax. My hair has been breaking so badly and I think I am ready for the transition. I have started looking for a salon good in texlaxing. I pray I find really quick. Thanks a lot

My hair just started under processing itself and has transitioned to texlaxed. I think using lye relaxers is best.

AlexisKimberlyy yes I’ve tried both. No lye made my hair straight and dry. Using no lye keeps my hair thick & processes slowly. I regret trying Mizani, the worst ever. I use olive oil relaxer and my hair is thriving and texlax.
do you use ORS lye relaxer now? What lye relaxer were you using before?
I think my hair had been textlaxing by itself lol, it just hasn’t seem to be really taking to relaxers anymore and it’s never bone straight, I guess it’s a happy accident 🤷🏾♀️
I agree, I'm having the same issue. I guess that means it's over with relaxers, lol.
That means its over proccessed but i hear you can use clear hair dye in between relaxers for that fresh relaxer look
Right on time!!! Ill be textlaxing my hair this week..going back to my old relaxer staples after 5 years of growing out my natural hair..ill be using ors lye relaxer in normal for 25 min... i got beautiful textlaxed results everytime..im ready!!!

@@AlexisKimberlyy i am 4c...i whould normally relax 2x per year so i had a load of new growth to get through... also since this well be a virgin relaxer i want time to smooth once.

Just 3 or 4 min should be fine to relax the curl a small bit.
I love texlax hair, but my concern is having different textures on my head. Will having different textures due to over processing or under processing cause my hair not to retain length and will it affect my journey. I'm currently natural

I want to go texlax(already used a shorter processing time for my last relaxer),I've been using the megagrowth no lye relaxer and was thinking of using the ors lye relaxer because my hair lightens wierdly and I was told it was because of the calcium deposits in the no-lye and you just told me its drying as well...more info please

death of a beebo Hmm.. good question. Your hair in its wet state would look crazy though lol. Straight roots and puffy ends. I wouldn’t recommend re-relaxing your texlaxed hair without doing a strand test first and going to the salon for a professional job.
I used Just for me texture softener. I can still do natural styles, but my wash n gos won’t look good until a month post. I will do it to 2 times a year

Just wanted to say that ur my fav UA-camr and that u give good advice and I wanted to ask u a question so basically in one of ur vid u said that when u feel that ur hair is oily that's bc ur moisturizer is on the top of ur hair but in my case my hair is really soft but I can feel the product that I put earlier before moisturizing my hair and I wanted to know if the product penetrate my hair ( sorry for the long comments ) love u 💞
The texture of my hair has changed with age and it’s not as thick even though I had transitioned back to natural 1 year now. Its more soft. Should I texlax it ?
Hi, do you have certain hair products you use? I am tex lax looking to which products. My hair is fine/ thin that is why I opt to Tex lax instead of bone straight. I currently use mielle organics but my hair isn’t liking it anymore. .searching for a new brand

@@daraadu1056 If you're relaxed, stretch for at least 8 weeks, preferably more (12-16 weeks) for maximum new growth. You'll have to decide which product you're going to use based on what I mentioned in this video and then decide on the technique you're going to use to texlax (e.g., shorten processing time, dilute the relaxer, etc.) which I discuss here: ua-cam.com/video/zpfo-x6tBx8/v-deo.html

Hi there. Please help me out. I have relaxed my daughter's hair only once (it didn't get bone straight though). But then I heard about texlaxing... can I not relax her hair again but start with texlaxing? And will that damage her hair🙁
Hey Beatrice! I'm so sorry for the delay, life has been a little wacky lately. If this is still a question for you, I plan to answer this very question in an upcoming video airing 4/19. Check it out! But long story short, you can begin texlaxing her new growth but I would not recommend touching any of her already processed hair. This will be a transition, similar to a relaxed to natural transition.
