When you have natural hair then relax/texturise you love the texture and how maintainable it is then months later you start to miss your curls and the really thick puffs then when you go back natural you start to miss the really sleek hairstyles

Why do I feel tempted to texlax my hair? I’ve been asking myself hard questions. I’ve been natural for about 4 years now. I don’t know if I’m natural because of the natural hair movement or if it’s because I really want my hair that way!! Btw, your hair looks super amazing ❤️

@@onyinyeokeke5102 I was devastated when I blew my hair out for a trim. Single strand knots and my hair looked really sad. When I was relaxed my hair was brastrap length and health. I've been wearing my natural hair straight and I am happy. I straighten every other week after a full wash deep condition session. I am so much happier because I feel it suits me best. Hi I'm texlaxed also but my hair was super puffy when the salon did a roller set ... I wanna try again with my current hair dresser but I'm afraid it won't work out .. What are ur tips to get good results with roller setting texlaxed hair? Thank u!

    • @TiffanyWilliams-rj7ul

Gina D. Things that work for me are....deep conditioning...a good foam wrap that doesn’t dry out my hair. I like BB foam wrap because it give me shine...also sometimes Jane carter wrap & roll....because of the light weight feeling it gives my hair....I also use sometimes design essential almond & avocado foam wrap....and I use to use lotta body but stopped because of the crunchiness it made my hair...lol. But really any foam will work it just depends on what u are looking for. Key tips are to practice like crazy....I found the more I did it the better I got. Also....watching UA-cam videos helped a lot. Also make sure u detangle and smooth your hair....doing so will improve your results drastically. Also I like to roller set with perm rods and flexirods. They are easier to control how snug the roller should be to get good results. Last, I prefer roller setting on blown out hair compared to wet hair. I found that process easier because the detangling part was done with the aid of the blow dryer and everything wasn’t so wet and messy where I couldn’t control how I wanted the hair to lay on the rollers.
So once I found that out....I started doing dry roller sets. You can UA-cam to see examples of how it’s done also. Hope that helped😊

@@TiffanyWilliams-rj7ul thank you so much ! This has definitely helped me out. All the things u named , my last hairstylist didn't do any of that and my hair was so dry and puffy 😭 I wanna stay away from flat irons as much as I can and use indirect heat more often . I love the volume and the look of rollersets and I think if I do more research on youtube like u said I can save time and money . And my hair seems to thrive when I learn to do things myself.. Its pretty cool to learn about dry rollersets. I think my hair will like that because I've done a Bantu knot out on dry, detangled hair and I loved the results, almost similar to getting a rollerset... And when I did a wet Bantu knot out, my hair was puffy, hmmmm 🤔 Thank u again for your helpful tips and good luck and continue success on your hair journey !! 😊

I am a straight natural. I use heat. My hair is far healthier straight than coiled. I think it's because I'm a lazy natural and I was not taking the time to care for my hair properly. Know thyself. Since I'm a lazy natural being straight makes more sense. My hair is longer and healthier this way. Know your habits ladies and make your decisions accordingly. TFS.

Weekly? Fortnightly? Or monthly? (3) What products do u recomend for texturizing and which shampoo and conditioner do you recomend for frequent washing of the hair? As well as hair creams or oils. (4) Pls explain how u do a pretexlax routine with olive oil. And what is d benefit of this process. I am sorry i knw my questions are many😉

Moisture I would suggest Tresemme moisture conditioner.
A bond builder: Olaplex no 3
Texlaxing is to do with less timing than relax hair. Example 12 mins this is applying the relaxer and then washing it out. Reduce smoothing out the hair too much.
      Detangle on a regular basis.
Be careful how long you stretch your hair. What works for some is to only stretch for a months , do not try and go above what your hair can handle.
Anti fizz and anti humidity hair products help.
Rollerset is a plus and does work on texlaxed hair . Lots of hair guru on UA-cam that rollerset their hair without a problem. They have volumn and full hair..
Books- on relax hair etc via Amazon

A relaxer is the same chemical. The *SAME* chemical. Tex-lax is just a new age term meaning the same as a 'Texturizer' (which , again, is the *same chemical* as a relaxer, but marketed differently.) One can texturize their hair WITH a RELAXER. On the other hand, one can get bone straight hair using a 'Texturizer or Tex-Lax box'.. *It all has to do with the length and smoothing of how its APPLIED.* ****Just wanted to bring clarity with this confusion I've seen over social media concerning this.***** ♥ ♥ peace n love

    • @nishicat8011
      @nishicat8011 4 роки тому +4

In order to get back the same texture is to time your hair when you do it the first time and the next time you do it again then use the same amount of minutes you used before to achieve the same texture.

The chemicals are the same. They're just marketed differently..In other words, the *label* on the box can say "texturizer".. Or "relaxer". The chemicals are the same though. U can get your hair bone straight using the box labeled 'texturizer' , n u can texlax (as the trendy term goes) using a box labeled 'relaxer'. *Its all in how it's applied and smoothed.

My hair texture is 3c/4a so it's not as high maintenance but it's more maintenance than I want to do just to go outside.
